Chapter 395: He Doesn't Mind Changing a Woman

"Who gave you the guts to change the lock on my room without permission? Are you trying to defy me?" Amara scolded angrily.

"This is my room, why can't I go in? Who do you think you are? How dare you keep me out of my own room? Do you really think I won't fire you and make sure you can't survive in Horizonia?"

Amara was furious, her anger growing with each word.

She had been in Aridonia for half a month and hadn't seen Isaac at all, having no chance to develop a relationship with him. She was already holding a grudge.

Now this Kieran dared to offend her, it hit a nerve, and it was no surprise she was taking it out on him.

Kieran's face turned ugly, his lips trembling violently.

But before Kieran could speak, a low, cold voice suddenly came from behind him, "Hit her back."

Both Amara and Kieran were startled and turned their heads in unison.

"Isaac? When did you come back? You're finally back, I've been waiting for you forever, just sitting here alone every day. If you didn't come back soon, I would have been really down."

Amara's face was full of surprise and excitement, and she ended with a coquettish complaint, her voice soft and whiny, as if she were acting spoiled.

Isaac looked at Kieran, his voice dropping lower. "Didn't you hear me? I told you to hit her back."

Kieran came to his senses and respectfully said, "Yes, I'll do it right away."

Before Amara could react, Kieran quickly raised his hand and slapped Amara hard across the face.

Although Kieran was already fifty years old, he was still trained. With that slap, Amara was directly knocked to the ground, blood starting to flow from the corner of her mouth and nose.

Amara fell to the ground in a mess, letting out a scream, her ears ringing, her mind blank, her face numb with pain.

It took her a while to come to her senses, looking at Kieran with rage, "How dare you hit me?"

Kieran lowered his eyelids and politely uttered, "It was Mr. Porter's orders, I dare not disobey. I'm just a butler, after all—I do what the boss says."

Amara bit her teeth hard, her teeth grinding.

She looked at Isaac with red-rimmed eyes, her gaze both aggrieved and angry: "Isaac, I'm your fiancée, how can you let a servant hit me?"

Isaac glanced at her coldly, "You hit him first. It's only fair he gets to hit back."

Amara angrily snapped, "He's just a servant, so what if I hit him?"

Isaac spoke, "He's been there for me since I was a kid—he’s like family. If someone else hit him, I would have cut off their hand. Letting him hit back is already showing you some mercy."

Amara was furious.

Even if Kieran had taken care of him since childhood, it didn't change the fact that he was a servant.

The Porter family must have given him plenty of money and benefits, he was just doing his job, there was no need to be grateful to him!

But she didn't dare to say these thoughts out loud.

Because that would make her seem ungrateful.

Isaac would despise her.

Before marrying Isaac, she had to maintain a perfect image.

Amara bit her lip, frustration evident in her voice, "I didn't hit him for no reason, he changed the lock on our room without my permission and locked the door, so I couldn't get back into the room. I was just angry and ashed out."

Isaac said indifferently, "I had the lock changed and the door locked."

"This room doesn't belong to you, I've had a guest room arranged for you."

Amara uttered unhappily, "You promised my mom that I could move in with you. What couple living together doesn't sleep in the same room? I don't want to sleep in another room, I want to sleep in the same room with you!"

Isaac shot back coldly, "The Porter family doesn't have those kinds of traditions. I won't share a room with someone I have no feelings for."

Amara's face turned ugly with anger.

Was he saying the Hansen family had improper traditions?

Isaac looked down at her and spoek coldly, "If you like to make unreasonable trouble so much, I think I get along better with your sister. She doesn't seem like the type to make unreasonable trouble."

Amara's eyes widened in shock, looking at Isaac.

What did he mean by that?

Did he want to replace her with her sister Liora?

No, absolutely not!

She couldn't let this opportunity slip away.

She wouldn't let Isaac go to Liora!

Amara immediately got up from the ground, suppressing her anger, and forced a smile, "You're right. We're just starting to develop feelings, it would be awkward to share a room now."

"Let's sleep separately for now, and take it step by step as we get to know each other better."

"It was my fault earlier, I didn't get the whole picture and hit him. I owe Kieran an apology, I'm sorry."

"Isaac, please don't get me wrong, I'm not the kind of person who stirs up trouble. I'm always very understanding and considerate."

Isaac ignored her, turning to Kieran, "Bring a cup of coffee to the study."

Kieran nodded quickly, "Yes, I'll make it right away."

Isaac then turned and went back to the study.

Amara frowned, her concern showing, "Isaac, it's pretty late. Coffee now will just keep you up. How about I get you a glass of milk instead? Milk helps with sleep, it's perfect for this time."

She was so considerate, Isaac must be deeply moved, right?

He must think she was perfect wife material!

Isaac refused coldly, "No need."

Amara's face fell, feeling both angry and annoyed.

Isaac really didn't accept anything!

If he wasn't good-looking, smart, and needed by the Hansen family, when had Amara ever had to humble herself to please a man?

If it were any other man, daring to be so arrogant in front of her, she would have had him beaten up and tied to the bed for a good lesson!

But he was Isaac.

Just his identity alone made it impossible for Amara to use those underhanded methods.

Forget it, she would endure for now, and get her revenge once he married into the Hansen family!

Isaac returned to the study, just about to continue dealing with the accumulated company affairs, when he received a call from Wesley.

Isaac answered the call.

On the other end, Wesley's voice was trembling, clearly trying to suppress his anger.

"Mr. Isaac Porter, I found out why Mr. Magnus Porter was injured."

"At first, I secretly found a bodyguard around Sylvie, planning to bribe him, but he was unmoved. So I kidnapped his wife and children, used some methods to force him. I made it clear that if he didn't spill the truth, I'd send his family to the mines. In the end, he talked."
