Chapter 97 Will You Marry Me?
Kalista's pupils constricted, sharp voice said, "Stop daydreaming here. Even if you seduce Isaac actively, Isaac won't fall for you!"
Kalista added, "Do you forget, you've been married to Isaac for three years, and he hasn't forgiven you?"
Nora shrugged indifferently, "Whether he forgives me or not doesn't matter, but I have the ability to make him mine."
"If you want to try, I don't mind letting him marry me again?" Nora taunted, "Do you think I can't do it?"
Kalista was left speechless by her words.
With Edmund's level of affection for Nora, it was too easy for Nora to marry Isaac.
Even without Edmund, as long as Nora was willing, Isaac would marry her.
Others might not know, but she was very clear about how much Isaac loved Nora.
When Isaac promised to marry her initially, he told her that he could marry her but wouldn't love her.
His heart already belonged to Nora.
Even if Nora betrayed him, the genuine affection he gave couldn't be taken back.
When Nora returned three years ago, Isaac, who had been suppressed for a whole year, gradually began to improve.
Although he hated Nora, he couldn't let go of her.
Thinking of this, Kalista became jealous to the point of madness.
This was why she always disliked Nora and never missed a chance to target her.
She saved Isaac's life, yet she couldn't replace Nora in his heart.
She resented Nora deeply.
And she was unwilling!
Nora coldly warned, "I don't want to argue with you now, nor do I want to reconcile with Isaac. I just want to leave him now."
"But the condition is, don't provoke me.
"If you make me angry, I won't mind teaching you a lesson, taking away something precious to you.
"Even if I can't make Isaac love me, I can still hold the position of his wife and drive you crazy."
Kalista trembled with anger, glaring at Nora with eyes full of fury.
"You better remember your words, never try to steal Isaac from me, or I won't spare you!" Kalista warned, suppressed her anger, and gritted her teeth.
Nora didn't respond, sitting indifferently on the sofa.
She didn't owe Kalista anything and saw no need to make promises to her.
Half an hour later, Isaac prepared dinner for Nora and asked her to eat.
Coincidentally, Rhys also arrived.
"I was about to go out for dinner with Harold and the others. Why did you call me in such a hurry? Is Nora feeling unwell?" Rhys asked as he approached.
Isaac said calmly, "Check on Kalista, see how she's doing."
Rhys instantly lost interest.
But he was still professional, walking up to Kalista to examine her.
"Thanks, Rhys," Kalista said and reached out her hand.
Rhys examined her carefully. His brows gradually furrowed.
A few minutes later, he released Kalista's hand, looking at Isaac with a puzzled expression, as if he had something to say but hesitated.
"Rhys, is everything okay with my body? Is the fetus, okay?" Kalista asked softly.
Isaac asked, "Is she really pregnant?"
Rhys nodded with a complicated expression, "Yes."
Isaac then inquired, "How long has she been pregnant?" Rhys furrowed his brow, hesitating.
Seeing this, Kalista's eyes showed signs of nervousness.
What if Rhys found out that she had only been pregnant for a week, not half a month?
Although Mortimer had given her medication to disrupt the pregnancy timeline.
But Rhys was no ordinary person.
Rhys was highly skilled, what if he noticed something was amiss?
If it was discovered that she had only been pregnant for a week, what would she do?
Kalista's breathing became cautious with anxiety.
Just then, Rhys finally spoke.
"At first glance, she seems to be about half a month pregnant."
Kalista breathed a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness, Rhys didn't notice.
Kalista shyly looked at Isaac, "Isaac, as I said before, it was the night half a month ago when we conceived our child. You should believe me now."
"Now that even Rhys says I've been pregnant for half a month, you should believe it, right?"
Isaac remained silent, his expression still very cold, showing no hint of joy.
Rhys had a hesitant expression.
But seeing Isaac's lack of response, he ultimately said nothing.
Seeing Isaac's indifference, Kalista couldn't help but feel a bit wronged, and said, "Isaac, I'm carrying your child. Aren't you happy?"
Isaac looked at her seriously, "Are you sure it's my child you're carrying?"
His gaze was too sharp, and Kalista dared not meet his eyes.
She hastily averted her gaze, covering up the panic in her eyes.
Kalista insisted, "Of course, I'm sure. That night half a month ago, I only had relations with you, and I haven't been with any other man since. Whose child could it be if not yours?"
As she spoke, Kalista's eyes reddened.
She asked, "Isaac, don't you want to take responsibility?"
Isaac said solemnly, "If you're carrying my child, I will naturally take responsibility."
Kalista felt a surge of joy and hurriedly asked, "Then when do you plan to marry me?"
Isaac said, "There's no need to rush. Marriage is a complicated matter. You've just become pregnant, and it's not good for the fetus to be under too much stress. Let's talk about it after you give birth."
Kalista felt flustered.
Wait until she gives birth?
Doesn't that mean waiting for nearly ten months?
She couldn't wait that long!
She wanted to marry him now!
Moreover, she didn't want to give birth to this child.
It wasn't Isaac's child. If it was born, it would be exposed.
Although it was also a child of the the Porter Family.
But if Isaac found out the true identity of this child, he might never look at her again in his lifetime, let alone marry her.
The reason she agreed to carry this child was just to use it to marry Isaac smoothly.
She had planned to use the pregnancy to get Isaac to marry her immediately.
After she successfully marries Isaac, she would find a way to kill the child, and then truly conceive Isaac's child.
But she didn't expect that Isaac had no intention of marrying her immediately.
This was completely different from her plan.
She suddenly felt lost and panicked.
Kalista bit her lip, and said, "Isaac, I'm in good health. Marriage is a small matter that won't consume much of my energy or harm the child."
"I don't want our child to be born out of wedlock.
"I don't mind being ridiculed by others, but I don't want our child to be laughed at in the future.
"I hope he can be born with a legitimate status!
"Isaac, for the reputation of the child, for the child not to be ridiculed in the future, can we get married first?" she tried to persuade him.
