Chapter 269 It Would Be Great If Mommy Could Marry Both

Isaac shot her a look. "So they won't get picked on or treated differently. If you put someone else's name and you're the one picking them up every day, people will think their parents don't care about them, and they'll look down on them or bully them."

Nora's eyes started to water.

Isaac had thought of everything.

Trying to keep her emotions in check, she said, "Thank you."

Even without knowing Magnus and Soren were his kids, he was still willing to pretend to be their dad to protect them. She really owed him one.

Seeing Nora's change in attitude, Isaac felt like being a stepdad was worth it, and he felt a lot better.

Nora didn't say anything else and carefully filled in her and Isaac's names in the parents' section.

When she was done, Isaac took the form. "I'll take them for the entrance assessment tomorrow. You wanna come along?"

Nora nodded. "Yeah, I'll go with you."

She worried that if Isaac was alone with Magnus and Soren, he might discover their identities.

The next day.

At nine in the morning, Isaac drove her and the kids to Grand Kindergarten himself.

The principal met them at the school gate.

As soon as he saw Isaac, he came up with a big smile. "Mr. Porter, welcome. This must be Mrs. Porter? You two look great together!"

Then, the principal's eyes landed on Magnus and Soren. "These must be your kids? Their eyes are so bright, and their hair is so nice!"

Since they were wearing masks, he couldn't see their full faces and just complimented what he could see.

Nora's mouth twitched.

How much money did Isaac donate to make him this accommodating?

Isaac whispered in her ear, "A hundred million dollars."

Nora quickly covered her mouth.

Did she accidentally say her thoughts out loud?

Isaac chuckled and teased, "You might as well write your question on your forehead. I know you so well that even if you don't say it, I can tell what you're thinking just by looking at you."

Nora felt embarrassed.

"Why'd you donate so much? If I knew it was this much trouble, I would've just let them go to a regular kindergarten," Nora whispered.

If it were a smaller amount, she could've said she'd pay him back.

But that was a hundred million dollars...

She would never ever be able to repay that.

So, she didn't dare to boast about paying him back.

Isaac raised an eyebrow. "No need to pay me back. We're married. It's like spending your own money. We've been married for three years. The money I've earned in these three years is our joint property. Just think of it as spending your own money."

Nora was speechless.

That's true, but after marrying him, she hadn't contributed much to his career or the family.

The money she earned went into her own pocket.

Spending the joint property he earned made her feel a bit uneasy.

But in front of others, she just put on a polite smile.

They took the kids to the principal's office.

Then, a team of teachers did entrance assessments for Magnus and Soren separately.

Afterwards, the lead teacher said, "Soren's got great language skills and a quick mind. Magnus, on the other hand, has some communication barriers. He doesn't really want to talk to us, but he's got a strong sense of logic, clear thinking, and excellent hands-on skills."

"We'll tailor the teaching plan to their strengths. Once it's ready, we'll send it to you for review. If you have no objections, we'll provide focused education for them in addition to the group classes. Any objections?"

Nora shook her head.

Isaac said, "As long as Magnus and Soren are cool with it."

After leaving the school, Nora sighed, "No wonder it's the top-ranked. They even tailor the teaching plan for each kid's strengths."

Isaac laughed. "See? The money was well spent."

Thinking about the hundred million dollar donation, Nora still felt a bit pained.

But since the money was already spent, she didn't want to say anything discouraging.

To thank Isaac, Nora decided to cook for him herself!

As soon as she entered the kitchen, Isaac chased her out.

Isaac teased, "If you really want to thank me, don't cook yourself."

Nora's mouth twitched. "Is my cooking that bad?"

Isaac laughed. "It's not bad, but I can't bear to let you cook."

Nora's face felt a bit hot.

She pretended not to hear his words and took the vegetables to wash. "Then I'll wash the veggies, and you cook."

Isaac handed her a pair of gloves. "Put on them."

Nora silently put them on. Listening to his meticulous care, she felt very conflicted.

On one hand, she couldn't help but feel moved, and on the other hand, she wondered if he was just acting.

Then she shook her head, shaking off those messy thoughts.

No matter what he was thinking, helping Magnus and Soren get into school was a real deed.

At least in this matter, she had to thank Isaac.

Nora quietly helped in the kitchen.

They didn't talk much, but they were very in sync, knowing how to assist each other without needing to speak.

The scene was busy yet warm.

Magnus and Soren sneaked into the kitchen to peek.

Soren whispered, "Magnus, look how well Mommy and Uncle Isaac match. If Mommy could marry Uncle Isaac and let him be our stepdad, that would be great. He's tall and handsome, has a nice voice, is rich, can cook, makes Mommy happy, and plays with us. He even looks like you. If he could be our daddy, that would be perfect."

Magnus held a grudge and still remembered Isaac's coldness towards them. He didn't have a good impression of Isaac.

Who knows if Isaac would suddenly stop liking them and become cold again?

Magnus said sullenly, "Uncle Mortimer is also tall and handsome. His voice is even nicer, and he's gentle. He's also rich, and he's better to Mommy and us! If Mommy were with Uncle Mortimer, he would treat Mommy better and us better too!"

Soren looked conflicted. "You're right. Uncle Mortimer is also good. I like him too. It's so hard to choose. If only Mommy could marry both, then we wouldn't have to choose!"
