Chapter 547 His Choice

Nora didn't hesitate at all, and the knife in her hand stabbed into Daxton's body again.

But just as the tip of the knife touched him, a figure quickly rushed over and kicked her wrist.

A sharp pain shot through her wrist, and the knife fell to the ground.

Daxton looked at the knife wound in the middle of his chest and let out a long sigh of relief.

That was close. He almost died here.

"Isaac, you finally came. If you had been a little later, I would have died here with the child!" Amara looked at Isaac with tears streaming down her face.

The person who had just rushed over and kicked Nora was Isaac.

Isaac didn't have time to respond to Amara, as Mortimer's men were already surrounding him and attacking.

Isaac deftly dodged and counterattacked.

The people he brought with him quickly rushed in and started fighting with Mortimer's men.

The bindings on Amara and the others were also untied by the people who arrived later.

Amara looked at the person Isaac had just kicked away, a twisted hatred appearing in her eyes.

Daxton had said that the woman was Nora.

That bitch Nora dared to kidnap her and even tried to kill her. She would never let her go!

Nora was still wearing a mask, and Isaac didn't know it was her. Why not take this opportunity to kill Nora?

When Isaac found out it was Nora, she could play innocent and say she didn't know it was her. Isaac wouldn't be able to blame her.

Killing intent surged in her heart. Amara picked up the knife that had fallen to the ground, her eyes filled with malice as she looked at Nora.

She wasn't sure if that person was Nora, but even if it wasn't, killing a kidnapper was justified. She was just protecting herself and wouldn't be guilty of anything!

Amara stood up and charged at Nora.

At that moment, Nora had just stood up and saw Amara rushing towards her. She quickly stepped back to avoid her.

Amara missed and continued to lunge forward.

Nora kept retreating, not wanting to fight Amara.

Although she had tacitly agreed to Mortimer's plan to get rid of Amara, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

Amara had targeted her before, but she didn't deserve to die, especially since she was pregnant.

Nora didn't want to fight Amara, but Amara had no intention of letting her go.

Seeing Nora retreat, she raised the knife and charged forward again.

Nora had to retreat once more.

Before long, Nora was forced into a corner of the warehouse.

The corner of the warehouse was filled with many discarded wooden crates and other miscellaneous equipment.

As she retreated again, Nora's heel accidentally tripped over a piece of wood, causing her to stumble and fall backward.

As she fell, the mask on her face accidentally came off, revealing her true appearance.

"Nora, it really is you! You vicious woman, how dare you kidnap me? I'm going to kill you!"

Amara screamed in anger, her eyes filled with even more killing intent.

She quickly stepped forward, raising the knife to stab Nora.

Nora, lying on the ground with nowhere to retreat, could only lift her foot and kick Amara away.

Although she didn't want to harm Amara and her unborn child, that was only if she wasn't threatened.

In a desperate situation, she would naturally choose to protect herself first.

Amara staggered back and fell to the ground.

"My belly."

She clutched her stomach, her face contorted in pain.

At that moment, the wooden crates behind Nora, destabilized by the impact, began to collapse.

These wooden crates were very large, and although they were empty, each weighed at least thirty or forty pounds. If hundreds of them fell on someone, it would be deadly!

"Watch out!"

A familiar, anxious voice suddenly called out.

Nora looked up and saw Isaac running towards her with a look of urgency.

Isaac's intense gaze was fixed on her.

Nora instinctively clenched her fists, her heart pounding.

However, Isaac ran to Amara, using his body to shield her.

He created a space with his body, protecting Amara beneath him.

In the next instant, countless crates fell.

The violent impact caused Nora to lose consciousness instantly.

When she woke up again, Nora found herself lying in a hospital bed.

"Nora, you're finally awake. Just lie still, I'll go get the doctor to check on you."

Mortimer's voice came from beside the bed.

Before she could turn to look, footsteps had already run out of the room.

Mortimer quickly returned with a doctor, who carefully examined her and asked how she felt. After confirming there were no issues, the doctor advised her to rest and left the room.

The room was once again just her and Mortimer.

Mortimer sat by the bed, his face full of guilt. "Nora, I'm sorry. It's my fault for not planning well, which led to this accident and caused you to get hurt so badly."

Nora weakly replied, "It's not your fault. I was careless."

"By the way, if things go wrong and they call the police, just put the blame on me. Say I threatened you to help."

Mortimer said, "Isaac didn't call the police. The Hansen family must have been persuaded by him. It's been three days, and the police haven't come looking for me. The evidence has been destroyed, so they probably won't call the police."

Nora pressed her lips together, surprised that she had been unconscious for three days.

The images from before she lost consciousness flashed before her eyes. Even though she had given up on Isaac, the scene of him rushing to protect Amara still stung her eyes.

She wanted to ask about Isaac's condition but decided against it.

Instead, she asked, "How are Magnus and Soren? I've been unconscious for three days; they must be worried."

Mortimer sighed. "I tried to keep your injury a secret from them, but they're too smart. I couldn't hide it and had to tell them."

"But don't worry too much. They're very sensible and didn't make a fuss."

"They're worried about you, but they eat and sleep well every day. They don't want you to wake up and see them sick or thin, which would make you worry and add to your burden."

Nora felt a pang of sadness.

Magnus and Soren were so sensible, it made her heart ache.

After talking for a while, Nora felt dizzy and exhausted.

Mortimer gently said, "Although you don't have many external injuries, your internal injuries are severe, and you lost a lot of blood. When you were first brought to the hospital, the doctors had to give you over 9 pints of blood to save you."

"Your condition is stable now, but you're still weak and tired. Just rest and recover. I'll take care of Magnus and Soren."

Nora was already very sleepy. She mumbled a response and fell asleep again.

Mortimer raised his hand and gently touched her cheek.

After a while, he stood up and left the room.

As he reached the door, he saw Isaac sitting in a wheelchair outside.

Isaac looked pale and unwell.

He had been seriously injured while protecting Amara.
