Chapter 239 Isaac Will Never Find You

Isaac's body went rigid, a flicker of disappointment in his eyes.

"If you don't wanna go out, then forget it. I'm stuck in the hospital anyway, and it's probably your money footing the bill. I can't really complain," Nora said weakly.

"Do we really have to keep things so distant?" Isaac asked, sounding hurt.

Nora shot back, "To me, you're just an stranger. Shouldn't I treat you like one?"

Isaac was at a loss for words. He saw the cold look in Nora's eyes and finally stood up quietly. "There are people outside the door. If you need anything, call them or press the button for the nurse."

With that, Isaac gave her a concerned glance and left the room.

As the door clicked shut, a wave of sadness washed over Nora. She closed her eyes, trying to bury her emotions deep inside. Her injuries had left her weak, and she soon drifted back to sleep.

Nora had no idea how long she'd been out when she groggily woke up. Before she even opened her eyes, she felt someone watching her. She thought it was Isaac. But when she opened her eyes, she saw it was Daxton—Isaac's father!

He was back again!

Nora quickly snapped to attention, looking at him in panic like a stranger had barged in. "Who are you? Why are you in my room?"

Daxton smirked. "Playing the amnesia card, huh? You're pretty good at it, just like when you faked your death a month ago."

Nora's hands clenched under the blanket, but her face stayed wary and scared. "Faked my death? I admit I have amnesia, but I don't remember pretending to be dead! Who are you?"

Daxton raised an eyebrow. "Really lost your memory?"

Nora pressed her lips together, eyeing him warily. In the past, every time she saw him, her eyes were full of anger and hatred, along with obvious disgust.

It really seemed like she had lost her memory.

But Daxton wasn't buying it all. "If you have amnesia, why are you still with Isaac? Nora, don't try to fool me, or you'll regret it!"

Nora said, "Isaac forced me to come back. I don't want to be with him, I don't even know him!"

Daxton said, "If that's true, then leave Isaac."

Nora gave a bitter smile. "I want to leave, but he won't let me. He's got people watching me. How can a weak woman like me escape?"

Daxton squinted, trying to see if she was lying. But after a long look, he couldn't find any flaws.

He kept his expression neutral and said coldly, "I can help you leave. But don't come back, or next time I'll take your life!"

Nora's eyes widened. "Were the people who attacked me today your doing?"

"Looks like you only lost your memory, not your smarts," Daxton said with a half-smile.

Nora's eyes filled with tears, and she demanded angrily, "What did I ever do to you? Why do you want to hurt me?"

Daxton said, "I have no personal grudge against you, but our interests don't align."

Nora stayed silent.

Daxton said, "Nora, I actually admire you. If it weren't necessary, I wouldn't want to take your life."

Nora found it laughable. What did he mean by that? Did he want her to thank him for not killing her? After doing so many bad things, why pretend to be a good person?

Daxton asked, "Can you get up? I'll take you away now."

Nora sneered, "You said the people who attacked me were your doing. Don't you know how hard they hit? My ribs are broken, my hand is broken, and I got hit on the head. I can't walk."

If she could walk, she would have left the hospital to find her children herself.

Daxton chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "I'm a bad guy. Aren't you afraid I'll kill you in a fit of rage if you talk to me like that?"

Nora said irritably, "I can't escape from Isaac anyway, so it's no different from being dead."

"You hate him that much now?" Daxton asked, surprised.

Nora said with disgust, "I was supposed to get engaged to Mortimer, but he caused trouble, forcibly took me away, and then imprisoned me. I wish he were dead!"

Daxton now believed that Nora had really lost her memory. Otherwise, she wouldn't be talking about getting engaged to someone else. He said nothing more, grabbed her uninjured arm, and pulled her up. Then, he carried her on his back and walked out of the ward.

The movement aggravated Nora's injuries, causing her to gasp in pain. She struggled to support her body, preventing her broken ribs from being pressed.

As they left the ward, she saw that the men Isaac had assigned were all unconscious on the ground. She was surprised.

She thought, 'Those guys were strong. Daxton was indeed capable to take them down.'

Then Daxton carried Nora out of the hospital through the back door.

A car was already waiting by the roadside. Once in the car, Nora realized it was an old acquaintance, which related to her kidnap before losing her memory the last time.

She glanced at him with the eyes of a stranger.

"Let's go to the dock," Daxton ordered.

The driver said nothing and immediately drove away.

Nora asked fearfully, "Why are you taking me to the dock?"

Daxton said, "To send you away from Aridonia. If you stay in Aridonia, Isaac will definitely find you. To solve the problem once and for all, I have to send you away. Since you have amnesia, you have no attachment to Aridonia. It should be the same for you wherever you go."

Nora did not argue. She just wanted to find Magnus and Soren quickly and live their own life.

Using Daxton to escape from Isaac wasn't a bad idea.

But she didn't know which country Daxton would send her to.

She tentatively asked, "Which country are you sending me to? After sending me away, will you restrict my freedom like Isaac?"

Daxton lazily said, "I won't imprison you like Isaac."

Nora sighed in relief.

Daxton continued, "I never planned to send you abroad."

Nora frowned.

Daxton said mockingly, "I found a deserted island. I'll send you there, and you'll live alone on the island from now on. There are no people or surveillance there. No matter how capable Isaac is, he won't find you."
