Chapter 142 Have You Made Up
Nora looked at the photos on her phone with a grim expression.
Actually, there was nothing wrong with the photo at first glance.
It was just a picture of her and Mortimer standing at the hotel entrance, with Mortimer supporting her.
If she remembered correctly, the photo was taken when her relationship with Isaac was still good. She and Mortimer were waiting for Isaac at the hotel entrance, planning to have dinner together.
At that time, when she had accidentally twisted her ankle and almost fell, Mortimer had helped her up.
Nora scrolled down and found another photo.
It was still the same location.
In this photo, after Isaac appeared, she was holding Isaac's arm, looking very intimate.
When these two photos were put together, it looked suspicious.
Especially the person who posted them insinuated that she was flirtatious with other men despite having a boyfriend.
As a result, uninformed netizens started to see Nora as a promiscuous woman.
[Birds of a feather flock together. No wonder they hang out. They all love cheating and messing around!]
[They're so bad, so cheap and vicious. They cheat and even trick their friend's fiancé out of his house and assets. How disgusting! They don't deserve to be human!]
[Give back the house and money!]
[You'll deserve a horrible death!]
[If I were in the same place as them, I'd personally teach them a lesson!]
"Nora, I'm sorry. It's my fault for dragging you into this," Sophia said guiltily.
Sophia gripped her phone tightly, her fingers trembling, not expecting Cole to be so despicable.
It was bad enough to twist the truth but to drag Nora into it, too!
"You don't need to apologize. This might not be just Cole's doing. There could be others involved," Nora said solemnly.
Sophia looked puzzled. "Why do you think that?"
Nora said, "Those photos of me are unlikely to have been taken by Cole."
Sophia was stunned.
Nora continued, "If I remember correctly, those photos were taken during a holiday. That year, you and Cole went on a trip so that he couldn't have taken them."
Sophia suddenly remembered that it was true.
"Then who is targeting you?" Sophia asked anxiously.
Nora lowered her eyes and gently shook her head.
Several people flashed through Nora's mind, but she didn't voice her suspicions without confirmation.
"Someone deliberately exposes your location and sends people to cause trouble. Let me take you to my place first," Isaac suddenly suggested.
Nora hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded. "Okay, thank you."
Their store had already been exposed. Their residence was likely exposed, too.
If they went home now, they might run into troublemakers.
Sophia's eyes darted curiously between Nora and Isaac.
She quietly leaned into Nora's ear and whispered, "What's going on with you two? Have you made up?"
Nora shook her head. "No, I have a new boyfriend now. It's impossible with him."
"What's wrong?!" Sophia looked shocked.
Realizing her voice was too loud, Sophia quickly lowered it and asked urgently, "What's going on? When do you get a new boyfriend? Why don't I hear anything about it?"
Nora said, "When I get a new boyfriend, you are busy preparing for your wedding, so I don't tell you. You've been so down lately, I can't find the right time to tell you."
Sophia didn't mind and curiously asked, "Does Isaac know?"
Nora nodded.
Sophia dimmed her eyesinstantly, saying disappointedly, "Isaac knows you have a new boyfriend and still acts so indifferent. It seems he has no feelings for you anymore."
Nora lowered her eyelids, hiding the darkness in her eyes.
Sophia said, "But don't be too sad. After all, Isaac was already cheating on you before you got divorced. The farther you stay away from such a man, the better. It's actually a good thing that Isaac has no feelings for you and won't bother you anymore!"
Isaac couldn't help but speak up, "Sophia, do you think it's appropriate to badmouth someone who's trying to help you?"
Sophia stiffened her mouth. "How do you eavesdrop on our conversation?"
Isaac replied, "You are speaking too loudly."
Sophia looked embarrassed and defended herself, "I am not lying. Everything I say is true!"
Isaac let out a cold snort.
Sophia understood his sarcasm and instantly fell silent.
After all, Nora also had her faults.
The rest of the journey was silent.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a villa.
The three of them got out of the car and walked into the villa together.
As they entered, they saw two people in the living room.
"Isaac, you're back," Kalista said, looking at Isaac with affection.
But when she saw Nora and Sophia behind him, her face instantly darkened. She said angrily, "Isaac, why do you bring them here?"
Isaac replied coldly, "This is my place. I can bring whoever I want. As for you, don't I tell you not to come here anymore? What are you doing here?"
Kalista turned red instantly.
Isaac's words were a public humiliation!
"I ask her to come!" Katie, who was sitting on the sofa, said sternly.
Isaac looked at Katie and said, "Grandma Katie, why aren't you resting at the old mansion? Why do you bring her here?"
Katie said, "You never come to the old mansion to see me. How can I be healthy when I miss you every day? To recuperate better, I've decided to stay here for a while. Kalista is here to take care of me. She's been doing a good job. Besides, she's carrying your child. She should live with you to strengthen your bond and let the child feel the love of both parents."
Then, Katie looked at Nora with disgust and disdain. "You're really persistent, like a cockroach!"
She looked at Isaac and ordered, "Isaac, kick her out right now and stop sociating with her to protect your reputation!"
Then Katie turned to Nora and warned, "How many times have I warned you? Yet you still cling to Isaac. Do you have no sense of shame? Kalista is carrying Isaac's child, but you're trying to take Isaac away from her. Do you want her child to be fatherless from birth? Have some decency. If you have any conscience left, leave on your own and stop bothering Isaac!"
Isaac said with a stern face. "Grandma Katie, I bring Nora here. She's not clinging to me. I'll have someone take you back. I'll visit you at the old mansion often."
With that, Isaac prepared to call someone in.
"I'm not going back. I'm staying here!" Katie said harshly, "If you kick me out, I won't take my medication from today onwards!"
