Chapter 61 Isaac's Funeral was Done
Nora woke up again, realizing she wasn't in a hospital bed.
Instead, she was in Isaac's mansion.
She was sleeping in the same room she had slept in before.
Nora immediately sat up in bed and looked around, but she didn't see Isaac.
She remembered Isaac's pale face and his bleeding abdomen before she fainted, which made her feel upset. She quickly lifted the covers and got out of bed, rushing out of the room.
She reached the top of the stairs and saw Rhys coming up from downstairs. "Rhys, how is Isaac?"
Nora quickly approached Rhys and asked urgently. Rhys looked down with a sad expression on his face and said, "It's all my fault for being careless and making the wrong judgment. I didn't treat Isaac in time, which led to this tragedy. Isaac has... he has passed away."
"You were unconscious for three days, and his funeral has already taken place!"
"What?" Nora's pupils contracted, her face instantly lost all color, and her mind went blank.
Isaac is dead? The funeral has already taken place?
"How is that possible... How could he be dead?"
The strength seemed to drain from Nora's body, and she staggered forward. Rhys quickly held her up and said, "Don't be too upset. After all, you have already divorced him, so you won't become a widow."
"Now, they say a good ex is just like being dead, right?"
"I think real death is probably better than fake death, so you should be happy."
"Come on, smile." Rhys reached out and pinched Nora's cheeks, lifting the corners of her mouth.
Nora forcefully pushed away his hand, and tears instantly fell. "Isaac died to save me. I owe him my life!"
Suddenly, Nora grabbed onto the railing next to the stairs and quickly climbed up without hesitation, preparing to jump down.
This was the third floor, and jumping from here could be fatal.
"Oh my god, Nora, don't be impulsive, I was just joking!" Rhys's face turned pale with fear, and he hurriedly reached out to pull her.
But Nora was faster and had already let go of his hand, her body falling downwards. Nora closed her eyes and with a determination to die, she jumped down without hesitation.
But just as her body leaned forward slightly, a strong arm suddenly wrapped firmly around her waist. Her body was lifted up in mid-air and brought back to the ground steadily.
A heavy slap landed on her buttocks. Then, a gloomy voice with anger echoed above her head.
"You must be an idiot! You believe everything he says without even confirming if it's true. You're willing to risk your life like that?"
Upon hearing this familiar voice, Nora trembled all over. She immediately opened her eyes and looked up. The handsome and charismatic face of Isaac came into view. Despite his furious expression, which appeared dangerous and intimidating, she wasn't afraid at all. Instead, her face was filled with joy and excitement. She reached out and embraced him, crying and laughing at the same time, her body trembling with excitement. He was alive, and that was wonderful.
Rhys realized he had caused trouble and guiltily stepped back, hoping to slip away unnoticed. But just as he took a step back, Isaac's cold gaze fell upon him. "Wesley, Griffin, stop him and prepare a bungee rope for him. Hang him in the spot where Nora was about to jump from, let him experience what it feels like to jump from the third floor to the first!" Isaac said coldly.
Two voices came from behind Rhys, saying, "Yes!" Rhys turned around and saw two figures blocking his path. "Wait, when did you two come up? How come I didn't hear any sound when you were walking? Like ghosts, you scared me!" Rhys complained, patting his chest.
Wesley remained expressionless and gestured for him to please comply. "Doctor Rhys, are you going to cooperate or do we have to use force?"
Rhys twitched the corner of his mouth. He turned to look at Isaac, wearing a mournful expression. "Isaac, please spare me. I was just joking with Nora earlier, I didn't expect her to take it seriously."
"But this also accidentally revealed Nora's feelings for you, so please forgive me." Isaac's anger remained unabated. The more he thought about the scene just now, the more he wanted to crush this idiot's head. If he had come out a bit later, Nora would have really jumped.
Jumping from this height, onto a hard floor below, would definitely be fatal. This joke wasn't funny at all! Even though Nora was in his arms now, and he could feel her warmth and vitality, he still had lingering fear and unease in his heart. Isaac took a deep breath and looked at Griffin with a dark gaze. He said sternly, "If you still want to go to the desert to plant trees, then keep holding onto your notebook and keep writing!"
Wesley turned around and saw that Griffin, that guy, was completely unchanging. He had a small notebook and a pen in his hand, quickly writing on it. Wesley's mouth twitched with anger.
This guy, half a year ago, was always writing novels during working hours and got punished by Isaac to plant trees in the desert for six months.
Only today was he finally transferred back.
But on his first day back, this guy started writing again.
Unfortunately, the novel he wrote was a domineering CEO story with Isaac and his wife as the main characters, and many of the plots were his own imagination.
Every time Isaac caught him in the act, Isaac would be infuriated by what he wrote.
"Just wait a moment, just two more words to finish this paragraph!" Griffin replied while quickly waving the pen in his hand.
Isaac's face turned pale, and he said to Wesley, "Go and get his notebook for me!"
"Yes!"
Wesley immediately walked over, forcefully snatched Griffin's notebook from his hand, and respectfully handed it to Isaac.
Isaac opened it and took a look.
Suddenly, everyone felt like the temperature around them had dropped to zero, and the heavy air pressure seemed to squeeze out all the oxygen, making it difficult to breathe.
Curiosity got the better of Wesley, and he looked up at the notebook, wanting to see what was written on it that made Isaac so angry.
When he saw the content, his mouth twitched.
There was a reason why Isaac punished Griffin.
[Isaac descended from the sky and saved his wife. He forcefully pulled her into his arms, grabbed her chin, and said fiercely, "Who allowed you to endanger your own life, huh?"
After speaking, he kissed her passionately, wishing he could devour this alluring woman.
However, Isaac knew that cannibalism was illegal, so he could only find another way to satisfy his hunger.
He domineeringly picked up the woman in his arms, carried her into the room, and forcefully possessed her with his robust body.
This woman so was sweet, making him unable to resist. The two shared an intimate intensity on the bed for three days and three nights.]
