Chapter 77 Nora Escaped
Nora's gaze darkened slightly?
Was she still unable to let go of Isaac?
It wasn't that she couldn't let go.
It was that, she had never let go.
She could force herself to accept Isaac being with Kalista.
But she couldn't bring herself to meddle in their relationship.
However, if she didn't accept Mortimer's proposal, she couldn't think of a way to escape.
If it was just Isaac, it would have been fine. But behind him were Grandpa and Grandma.
Grandpa and Grandma's health was already not good, and they couldn't handle such a big shock. Besides the solution Mortimer suggested, she seemed to have no other choice.
Nora suppressed the bitterness in her heart and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you. You arrange it."
Mortimer's tone carried a hint of amusement, "It's good that you can understand. I will help you arrange everything."
"Now focus on recovering your health. I'll contact you once I have made the arrangements."
"Okay, thank you," Nora thanked sincerely.
Mortimer said, "I've said it before, you don't have to be so polite with me."
Nora awkwardly smiled.
They exchanged a few casual words and then hung up the phone.
It was almost midnight when Isaac returned home.
Nora was still awake, sitting on the bed bored and playing with her phone.
When she heard the sound of the door opening, she immediately looked towards the door and anxiously asked, "Isaac, how's Grandpa?"
Isaac closed the door and unbuttoned his shirt.
His strong and well-defined chest muscles and eight-pack abs were exposed.
Nora's heart suddenly skipped a beat, and her face uncontrollably flushed.
She felt so embarrassed and didn't know where to place her gaze.
Isaac looked at her reaction and sneered.
"What kind of act is this? You're living with a new boyfriend and still having an affair with Mortimer, right?"
"After seeing so many men's bodies, what are you pretending to be shy for?"
Nora felt like her heart was suddenly stabbed, and the color drained from her face.
Isaac walked straight to the bathroom, taking off his shirt and revealing his perfect upper body.
But Nora lowered her head and no longer had the desire to appreciate it.
"Grandpa is fine, he has already returned to the ancestral home."
Before entering the bathroom, Isaac coldly answered her earlier question.
Nora finally felt relieved.
But her mood still didn't improve.
That sentence from Isaac just now was too hurtful.
Nora bit her lip, quietly got out of bed, and left the room.
He looked down on her so much that she couldn't continue to sleep with him as if nothing had happened.
Half an hour later, Isaac came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
There were still droplets of water on his body, flowing down his firm muscle lines, looking very tempting.
Isaac raised his eyelids and looked towards the bed. But he found that the bed was empty. The sheets were neatly arranged. As if no one had been there. Isaac's face instantly darkened.
Where the hell did that woman go?
Isaac went to the wardrobe and took out a robe to put on.
Then he walked downstairs quickly.
The butler saw him coming downstairs so late, and with such a bad expression, he hurriedly approached and asked, "What are you looking for, sir?"
"Did you see Nora coming downstairs?" Isaac asked coldly.
The butler said, "Um... After Mrs. finished dinner, she went upstairs and never came back down. Is she not upstairs? Do you need me to send someone to look for her?"
"Yes, send someone to look for her immediately!" Isaac replied, then turned around and went upstairs.
Once upstairs, he first searched the study.
Then he went through every room on the third floor.
But he didn't see Nora anywhere!
The butler had already searched inside and outside the villa with his men, but Nora was nowhere to be found.
Isaac's face turned extremely grim.
"Immediately retrieve all the surveillance footage around the villa for me!"
The butler didn't dare to delay and quickly retrieved the surveillance footage.
But after watching all the footage, Nora was not seen in any of them.
Isaac furrowed his brows.
There was no one in the villa, and no surveillance footage captured her leaving. Where could she have hidden?
"Search every corner of the villa, including the garden, meticulously and carefully!" Isaac ordered again.
As long as she was still in the villa, he would dig three feet underground to find her.
However, even after searching again, Nora's whereabouts were still not found.
Isaac's brows furrowed tighter.
Did Nora somehow disappear into thin air?
He took out his phone and dialed Nora's number.
But as soon as the phone rang once, Nora immediately hung up.
He called again, but still no answer.
"Nora, you are testing my patience, daring to ignore my calls!" Isaac gritted his teeth in anger.
Suddenly, he thought of something.
He quickly went upstairs to the study and found Steve's phone.
He composed a message and sent it to Nora.
[I haven't heard from you in three days. What happened? I'm really worried about you.]
A few minutes passed, and Nora replied: [I had some issues these past few days and was in the hospital for three days. I just got discharged today.]
Steve: [You were in the hospital? Is it serious? Are you on your way home now?]
Nora: [It was pretty serious before, but I'm much better now. I'm on my way home, probably about an hour away.]
[Are you home? I need to talk to you about something.]
Steve: [I've been on a business trip these past few days, just got back today and was planning to go home. Where are you? Send me the address, and I'll come pick you up.]
Soon, Nora sent a location address.
Isaac looked at the location address and his face turned livid with anger.
This location was less than a mile away from the mansion.
It indicated that she had just run out of the mansion!
"Nora, you're quite resourceful. You managed to avoid everyone and the surveillance, sneaking out on your own. It seems I've underestimated you!" Isaac looked at the reply on his phone with a dark expression.
Then, he took a deep breath and forcefully suppressed his rising anger.
He got up, changed his clothes, and walked out quickly.
He had Wesley bring his car as Steve.
Once he got into the car, he put on a mask, changed into Steve's clothes, and sprayed on Steve's signature perfume.
Afterwards, he purposely took a detour, driving towards Nora's location from a different intersection.
When he arrived at the location Nora had sent, he did not see her figure.
He took out his phone and sent a message asking, [I'm here, where are you?]
Just a few seconds after sending the message, he saw a slender figure come out from behind the flowerbed on the roadside and quickly run towards him.
Isaac laughed out of anger.
She's quite cautious, actually knowing to hide.
Nora ran to the front of the car, opened the door, and quickly got in.
"Seems like this place is near your ex-husband's residence. How did you end up here?" Steve asked with confusion.
Nora sighed, "To be honest, I just snuck out of my ex-husband's house."
Steve asked, "Why did you go to your ex-husband's house?"
"And besides, your ex-husband should have a lot of servants, bodyguards, and surveillance, right? How did you manage to escape?" He was genuinely curious about how she had managed to avoid so many people and surveillance cameras and run away.
