Chapter 314 Isaac Misses Her
Nora reached out and plucked a few strands of hair from Magnus's head. Then, she left the house.
After going downstairs, the evening breeze hit her face, and the cool wind slightly calmed her emotions.
She took out her phone and dialed Rhys's number. "Rhys, can you go to the hospital now? I need to ask you a favor."
Rhys asked, "What's up? I'm still at the hospital. You can come directly."
Nora said, "Got it, I'll be there soon." She decided to wait until she got to the hospital to talk to Rhys in person. She immediately drove to the hospital.
Once there, she went straight to Rhys's office.
"Nora, what brings you here so late? Is something important?" Rhys asked with a smile.
Nora took out the strands of hair and placed them on Rhys's desk, looking at him seriously. "Help me do a DNA test."
Although she was almost certain that the Magnus at home was an imposter, she still needed concrete evidence and find out where the real Magnus was.
Thinking about her real son made her heart ache. Where was her Magnus now? Was he doing well?
"Please, do it as quickly as you can. I'm really anxious!" Nora said earnestly to Rhys. After speaking, she immediately pulled a few strands of her hair to make it easier for Rhys to test.
Rhys glanced at it and asked, "Whose hair is this? Who do you want to do a DNA test with?"
Nora didn't hide anything and said in a deep voice, "I want to do a DNA test with Magnus. I suspect the Magnus at home has been swapped."
Rhys laughed. "You and Isaac really think alike."
Nora looked at him in shock.
Rhys said, "When I first brought the equipment back from abroad, Isaac had me test your DNA with Magnus's."
Nora was completely surprised.
Isaac had already suspected that Magnus was an imposter? And he had secretly asked Rhys to do a DNA test?
"What were the results?" Nora asked urgently.
Rhys said, "What do you think? If he were a fake, do you think Isaac would still let him stay with you?"
Nora's face showed even more surprise, her mind went blank for a moment, and then she asked in a trembling voice, "You mean the test showed he is my son? He's not an imposter?"
Rhys nodded. "Yes, the results showed you are his biological mother. I personally conducted the test and collected the samples. You can be completely confident in the results."
"How is that possible!" Nora was completely stunned.
The Magnus at home wasn't a fake? But why had his personality changed so much? How could he be so unfamiliar with games he used to play and suddenly like foods he used to dislike?
Nora shared all her doubts with Rhys. "You say he hasn't been swapped, but why has his personality changed so much? His favorite toys have changed, and he acts like he's playing with things for the first time, not understanding anything. When I take him to play, he looks completely new to it. He used to dislike certain foods, but now he likes them. Other than his appearance and voice being the same, everything else about him is completely different. Are you sure he hasn't been swapped?"
Rhys shrugged. "Maybe he has some psychological issues. And you could find a psychologist to check him out."
Nora felt very heavy-hearted. She was silent for a while and then said to Rhys, "Please test it again, just in case the samples got mixed up last time."
Rhys sighed. "If you want to test it again, I'll do it." Then he took the two samples and went to the lab.
Nora sat in his office, feeling troubled. Her mind was a mess, yet it seemed like she wasn't thinking about anything at all.
After waiting for over an hour, Rhys finally returned to the office.
He handed the DNA test report to Nora. "See for yourself."
Nora glanced at the final result.
Rhys hadn't lied to her.
The two samples indeed showed a biological mother-son relationship.
The Magnus at home was her son and hadn't been swapped.
"How can this be? Is he really Magnus? How did he become like this?" Nora was at a loss.
Rhys comforted her, "Maybe he was traumatized, which caused his personality to change drastically."
Nora murmured, "But he doesn't recognize things he used to play with."
Rhys thought for a moment and said, "Is it possible that he developed a split personality after the trauma? His other personality might not be aware of the things he used to do. That could explain it."
Nora fell silent.
Although it sounded far-fetched. But it seemed to make some sense.
So far, it seemed to be the only explanation for Magnus's drastic personality change.
A sudden, indescribable pain surged in her heart.
What kind of trauma did Magnus go through to develop a split personality?
It was all her fault for not protecting him, causing him such deep psychological harm.
With red-rimmed eyes, Nora asked, "Do you know any reliable psychologists? I want to arrange for Magnus to see one."
Rhys nodded. "I do. I'll refer you to one, but it's too late today. The earliest appointment would be tomorrow."
Nora said, "I understand."
Rhys didn't say anything more. He took out his phone and sent her the contact information of a psychologist.
After thanking him, Nora drove home. When she got home, she found that Isaac had brought Soren over.
"Mommy!" As soon as Soren saw Nora, she ran towards her.
Nora squatted down to pick her up and asked in surprise, "Why are you back?"
Soren hugged her tightly and said in her sweet childlike voice, "I missed you, so I asked Daddy to bring me back to see you," then she whispered in Nora's ear, "I'll tell you a secret. Daddy missed you too. He coaxed me to come home to find you."
Nora's cheeks flushed, and she glanced at Isaac.
Isaac sat calmly on the sofa. Seeing her look over, he said indifferently, "Soren insisted on seeing you. She wouldn't sleep without seeing you, so I had to bring her to find you."
Soren whispered in Nora's ear, "That's not true. I was already asleep, but Daddy woke me up on purpose to come find Mommy. He even scared me, saying if I didn't come, you wouldn't love me anymore."
