Chapter 426: Don't Be So Afraid When You See Me
The bodyguards were in a bit of a pickle. "Mr. Porter has ordered that Mr. Radcliffe is not permitted on the estate, not even if you, Mrs. Porter. Please don't make it difficult for us, Mrs. Porter."
Nora questioned coldly, "What if I insist on bringing him in? Do you want to fight me?"
The bodyguards looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
Nora didn't wait for their answer.
She walked over to Mortimer, grabbed his wrist, and led him inside.
The bodyguards didn't dare to really lay a hand on Nora.
Although Isaac had ordered that even if Nora personally intervened, Mortimer was not to be allowed in.
But if they really tried to stop Nora and accidentally hurt her, Isaac would definitely not let them off.
They could only watch as Nora led Mortimer to the entrance of the estate.
However, they had already reported Mortimer's arrival to Isaac as soon as he got there.
They hoped Isaac would come quickly to stop them.
As expected, Isaac came immediately.
"Mortimer, did you forget what I said yesterday? How dare you come here? Do you really think I won't do anything to you?"
Isaac's voice, filled with anger and a strong killing intent, suddenly came through.
The bodyguards turned to see Isaac getting out of the car, walking towards them with a dark and grim aura.
In just a few steps, Isaac was in front of them.
Without a word, Isaac raised his hand to hit Mortimer.
Mortimer had caused his son so much harm that every time he saw him, he wanted to hit him!
However, just as Isaac raised his hand, a slender hand suddenly grabbed his wrist.
The owner of that hand was Nora.
Nora vocied calmly, "I invited him here. Magnus likes him, and with his company, Magnus will recover faster."
"Nora!" Isaac's face turned livid with anger, his eyes burning with fury.
"He's a hypocrite, more sinister and vicious than anyone. Cut ties with him, or he'll betray you before you even know it, all while you're still convinced he's a good guy!"
Nora lowered her eyes, hiding the self-mockery in them.
For such a long time, she had been completely deceived by Mortimer, treating him as a benefactor, almost worshipping him.
Mortimer sighed helplessly, "Isaac, have you ever heard the saying? The way you perceive others often mirrors your own mindset."
Isaac's face turned even darker.
Mortimer, that bastard, was turning the tables on him again!
Nora asked impatiently, "Isaac, can you stop being unreasonable?"
"You always say Mortimer is bad, but everything he does is good for me and the kids."
"You think you're a good person, but you often do things that hurt me and the kids."
"So, who should I believe?"
"I think Mortimer is right. You have a wicked mind, so you think everyone else is like you!"
Isaac clenched his fists tightly, his face changing colors, "Anyway, I won't let him in!"
"Get out now, or I'll knock you down and have someone carry you out!"
Nora was firm, "I must take him in today to accompany and comfort Magnus."
"I'm doing this for Magnus to recover as soon as possible."
"You keep stopping me from bringing him in. Do you not want Magnus to get better?"
"I don't." Isaac retorted.
He wanted Magnus to get better more than anyone.
Nora continued, "You say you don't, but everything you do is hindering Magnus's recovery."
Isaac pressed his lips tightly, too angry to speak.
Stopping Mortimer from seeing Magnus was hindering Magnus's recovery?
She knew nothing!
Nora looked up, staring at Isaac, and said firmly, "No matter what, I will take Mortimer to see Magnus today. If you insist on stopping me, I will take Magnus and Soren and leave your estate!"
"You can control your estate, but I can control my children. If you don't let me do what I want, I'll leave your place, and you won't be able to control what I do!"
Isaac's face turned dark with anger.
Nora was actually using the threat of leaving to force him to agree to let Mortimer in!
Isaac clenched his fists tightly, the veins on the back of his hands bulging, his body filled with killing intent.
But Nora didn't back down either.
She was determined to fight him to the end.
If he insisted on stopping Mortimer, she would really take Magnus and Soren and leave the estate!
Isaac agreed in a cold voice, "Fine, I won't stop you. Do whatever you want, bring in whoever you want."
"Just hope you never regret anything you've done!"
Isaac turned around in anger and got into his car.
With a roar of the engine, the car sped away.
Nora calmly withdrew her gaze and said to Mortimer, "Get in the car, let's go."
Mortimer nodded lightly, a faint smile in his eyes.
Nora drove in silence, while Mortimer sat in the passenger seat, feeling pleased.
He turned to look at Nora and asked softly, "Nora, aren't you worried that arguing with Isaac for my sake will really make him angry and push him further away?"
Nora replied calmly, "Honestly, I couldn't care less. He has other women around him now, I just want to stay far away from him."
Mortimer asked, "Maybe there's some misunderstanding. Haven't you asked Isaac?"
Nora snorted coldly, "Not interested."
"I won't forgive anyone who hurts my children, no matter who it is."
Mortimer's eyes flickered for a moment.
But soon, he returned to normal and sighed, "Isaac is too impulsive. He vented his anger and felt better, but it made things harder for Magnus."
Nora gripped the steering wheel tightly and didn't continue the topic.
Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the hospital yard.
"You go to Magnus's room first. I'll check if dinner is ready in the kitchen and bring Magnus's dinner over later."
Mortimer smiled and nodded, "Okay, I'll take good care of Magnus."
After unbuckling his seatbelt, Mortimer got out of the car.
Nora immediately drove away.
She parked the car in the garage.
She took out her phone.
Opened the real-time surveillance footage.
At this moment, Mortimer had already pushed open the door and entered Barrett's room.
Barrett was already awake.
He had been staring at the ceiling.
When he heard the door open, he turned to look at the door.
When he saw who walked in, Barrett's eyes widened in fear, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Mortimer walked to the bedside, glanced around cautiously.
After finding nothing unusual, he sat down, a faint smile on his face, and gently stroked Barrett's cheek.
Barrett trembled even more.
Mortimer spoke slowly, his clear voice carrying a hint of coldness, "Magnus, be good. Don't show this scared look when you see me. If your mom sees you're afraid of me, I'll be angry."
