Chapter 364 Confirm the Identity of the Two Children

Nora still felt upset.

No amount of love and protection for Soren could make up for the joy lost and the troubles caused by Soren's hearing loss during her growth.

Soren would have a hard time making friends and might not even be able to go out on her own.

She might also face discrimination.

Nora didn't dare to think further.

She couldn't imagine how such a small child could endure so much pain.

Isaac looked gloomy.

He knew very well that no amount of material things could make up for Soren.

"Listen to me first, Soren's hearing isn't completely irreparable." Rhys said gravely.

Nora and Isaac's eyes lit up, looking excitedly at Rhys.

Did Rhys mean that Soren's ears could still be healed?

"Can Soren's ears really be healed?" Nora's voice trembled with excitement.

Rhys said, "I can't guarantee it."

Isaac's face darkened, "You just said her hearing isn't completely irreparable."

Rhys explained, "There is a possibility of recovery, but it's quite small."

"Soren's situation is a bit complicated. Her ears were forcibly pierced with a sharp object, causing severe damage. There's still pus in her ears now."

"We need to hospitalize Soren for observation first. After the inflammation in her ears subsides, we can assess the injury more accurately and then determine if surgery can repair it."

Isaac and Nora's faces grew increasingly grim, a cold aura enveloping them.

Rhys said, "Don't worry too much. Even if it can't be healed, we have high-tech products now. Cochlear implants can also allow her to hear sounds."

Rhys tried to keep his tone light to ease Nora and Isaac's tension.

But Nora and Isaac's faces remained grim.

Nora choked up, "Her ears are still injured, yet she always seems so happy and never complains about the pain."

Rhys sighed softly and gently rubbed Soren's head, "She might have been in pain for so long that she's become numb. Normally, she doesn't feel it unless she talks, so she doesn't cry out in pain."

Nora felt stifled.

No wonder Soren didn't like to talk; it was because her ears hurt when she did.

She felt terrible for not noticing.

The more Nora thought about it, the worse she felt.

Rhys said, "I'll handle her hospitalization now. Once the operating room is ready, I'll take her in to clean the wound and let her recover in the hospital for a few days. Do you have any objections?"

What objections could they have?

As long as Soren could be healed, they had no objections.

Rhys immediately started the paperwork for Soren's hospitalization and had his assistant prepare the operating room.

An hour later, Rhys took Soren into the operating room.

Nora and Isaac waited anxiously outside the operating room.

Isaac held Nora's hand, his voice hoarse, "Don't worry too much, Soren will be fine."

"Didn't Rhys say? Even if it can't be healed, a cochlear implant can allow her to hear."

Nora wasn't comforted.

She pulled her hand back, clasped her hands together in front of her, and silently prayed for Soren.

After more than an hour, the operating room door opened.

Soren lay on the hospital bed, being wheeled out of the operating room by Rhys's assistant.

Soren had been given anesthesia and was quietly lying on the hospital bed, her ears already bandaged.

Rhys followed them out.

Seeing Nora and Isaac's solemn expressions, Rhys smiled, "You don't need to be so tense. This was just a debridement, there's no danger."

Nora followed Soren to the ward and personally stayed by her bedside.

She would stay with Soren until she was discharged, not letting any more accidents happen.

After taking Soren to the ward, Isaac went to Rhys's office.

Seeing him come in, Rhys said, "I've said everything I needed to about Soren. Why are you here?"

Isaac solemnly took out two small transparent bags from his pocket.

Each bag contained a few short strands of hair.

Isaac placed them on Rhys's desk and said in a deep voice, "Take these two hair samples and compare them with my DNA."

Rhys looked at Isaac in surprise.

Isaac hesitated for a moment and then said, "If possible, also compare these two samples with each other."

Rhys asked in confusion, "Whose samples are these? Why do you want to compare them with your DNA?"

Isaac coldly replied, "Don't ask what you shouldn't. Knowing too much won't do you any good."

Rhys shrugged.

He was just curious.

Seeing Isaac's reluctance to say more, he didn't press further.

"Alright, if you don't want to say, I won't ask. I'll go test them now."

Rhys stood up, took the samples, and walked over to Isaac, pulling out a few strands of his hair.

He deliberately pulled from the hairline at the front.

Always made him do things but never satisfying his curiosity, he wanted to make Isaac bald!

Isaac said unhappily, "Don't you have my DNA data stored? Why pull my hair?"

Rhys lied, "The data was accidentally lost, so I need a new sample."

Isaac glared at him coldly.

Rhys, feeling the pressure, quickly made his escape.

"I'll go test them now. If you have something to attend to, you can leave first. I'll contact you once the results are in!"

With that, he disappeared.

Isaac didn't leave and waited in the office for the results.

Two hours later, Rhys returned with the reports.

"You've been waiting here the whole time?" Rhys said in surprise, "You really are a busy person, aren't you?"

Isaac gave him a cold look, "The results?"

He was too preoccupied with the child's situation to do anything else and just wanted to know the results quickly.

Rhys handed him three identification reports.

Then he turned to close and lock the office door.

Before closing the door, Rhys looked around like a thief, making sure no one was outside his office before he felt at ease.

After closing the door, Rhys walked up to Isaac and asked in a low voice, "Tell me honestly, where did you get those two samples?"

Isaac ignored him.

He had already opened the reports to read.

He went straight to the results.

The first report.

The test showed that Sample 3 is the biological father of Sample 1.

The second report.

The test showed that Sample 3 is the biological father of Sample 2.

The third report.

The test showed that Sample 1 and Sample 2 are identical twins.

Seeing these results, Isaac's breathing became rapid, and his hands trembled uncontrollably.
