Chapter 124 The Mistress

Isaac said in a low voice, "I've already answered you at the hospital."

Nora fell silent.

He demanded that she compensate him with three children.

This was simply impossible!

Even if she was willing to bear children, she didn't have the time to do so.

Nora grew increasingly agitated.

What could she do to stop Isaac from bothering her?

Restlessly, Nora tried to move away from his lap.

Isaac, however, tightened his grip around Nora's waist, his magnetic voice tinged with hoarseness and warning, "If you don't want me to make love to here, behave yourself and stop tempting me!"

"Bollocks! When do I tempt you?" Nora retorted.

Isaac questioned, "Twisting and turning on my lap, isn't that a form of temptation?"

Nora's body stiffened.

Because she felt a change in the place where she was sitting.

Nora immediately tensed up, not daring to move. Her heartbeat was irregular racing, and her cheeks were growing hotter.

"I want to get off and sit down!" Nora explained through gritted teeth.

But it seemed like Isaac didn't hear her complaints as he continued to hold her on his lap.

The atmosphere in the carriage fell into a bewildered silence.

Nora's face flushed red, displaying a look of embarrassment.

Wesley was still driving in the front. Couldn't Isaac pay a little attention?

Wesley cleared his throat and said, "Oh, my ears have been acting up lately, experiencing intermittent deafness. I have a brief moment of deafness."

Nora's mouth twitched.

That statement seemed deliberate.

They spoke to each other when they returned home.

To prevent Isaac from carrying her inside, Nora had to walk in by herself.

But Isaac still held her hand as if afraid she would run away.

As the two entered the villa, a figure like a ghost suddenly stood up in the living room.

"Isaac, why do you bring Nora back?" Kalista clenched her fists, suppressing her anger, her voice filled with resentment.

Kalista's gaze fell on them holding hands. She felt a stab in her heart, causing her body to sway.

For the past half month, Isaac hadn't gone to see Nora, nor had he mentioned her.

She thought Isaac had let go of Nora but didn't expect him to bring Nora back now!

What kind of magic did Nora possess to captivate Isaac like this?

Isaac said, "Starting today, Nora will move back in to live here. She just had a miscarriage a few days ago and is still in a weak state. Be careful with your words, and don't upset her."

Kalista was heartbroken.

Nora had just had a miscarriage while she was pregnant!

Wasn't he afraid that Nora's actions might upset her and harm the baby?

Kalista was filled with resentment but dared not make a scene.

During this time, Katie had been advising her to be more dignified and composed, not to lose her temper easily and break down in just a few words.

To be the mistress of the Porter family, one must have a strong inner self.

For men like Isaac, with his status, having other women outside was normal.

Even if feeling uncomfortable, Kalista could only endure it.

Katie also said that as long as Kalista took good care of the child in her belly, she would definitely marry into the Porter family.

So, she couldn't act like before, getting angry easily and arguing with Nora.

Kalista suppressed her anger, showing a look of regret on her face, and sighed. "Does Nora have a miscarriage? That's a pity. If she still had her child, she could have married into the Radcliffe family smoothly."

"Now that she has lost the child, it might not be easy for her to enter the Radcliffe family. Even with Mortimer’s affection, the Radcliffe’s standards are high. It's not easy for a woman without status and who has been divorced to marry into it."

Then, Kalista added, "Isaac, have you made up with Mortimer? Why else would you help him take care of his woman?"

Kalista deliberately reminds Isaac of Nora's relationship with Mortimer.

As soon as Nora had just miscarried Mortimer's child, Isaac had brought her back to his home. If this got out, it would surely become a joke.

"The child Nora was carrying before was mine. She has no relationship with Mortimer," Isaac said in a deep voice.

"Be careful with your words in the future. If I find out that unrealistic rumors about Nora and Mortimer are spreading from you, don't blame me for being impolite!" Isaac continued.

Kalista looked deeply hurt.

But she didn't explode as she used to, accusing Isaac of being heartless.

Kalista took a few seconds to adjust her emotions, then smiled softly and said, "Okay, I won't speak out of turn."

Then, Kalista looked at Nora and said gently, "Although you don't give birth to Isaac's child, you do carry his child. The Porter family won't mistreat you. Just focus on taking care of yourself here. I'll instruct the housekeeper to prepare nourishing soups for you every day."

Kalista assumed the posture of the mistress of the Porter family, and every word seemed like a favor to Nora.

If Nora didn't appreciate it, she would appear ungrateful.

Isaac looked at Kalista in surprise.

Rarely did  she make a scene.

Isaac's expression softened slightly.

When he was about to speak, Nora suddenly laughed.

Isaac immediately shifted his attention to Nora and asked, "What's so funny?"

Nora glanced at the haughty Kalista, smiling faintly without speaking.

After looking at Kalista for a few seconds, Nora shifted her gaze to Isaac.

"If you want me to stay here, kick Kalista out. I don't want to see her." Nora said.

Kalista suppressed her anger and forced out a stiff smile. "I always have your best interests at heart. Why do you still want me to leave?"

She looked at Isaac with a sense of grievance.

"Isaac, you saw it just now. I haven't done anything wrong to Nora, nor have I said anything insulting to her. Yet, Nora is hostile towards me and wants to turn the tables and kick me out." Kalista said.

Kalista bit her lip, "Isaac, I belong to you, and this is your territory. Whether you ask me to leave or stay, I'll follow your lead."

Kalista's considerate behavior sharply contrasted with Nora's unreasonable behavior.

Kalista believed that Isaac would surely pity her and that Nora's unreasonable demands wouldn't be accepted.

However...

After just a few seconds of silence, Isaac said to Kalista, "Go pack up, and Wesley will send you off later."

Kalista looked at Isaac in disbelief. "Isaac, what are you saying? You want me to move out?"

It was clearly Nora who was being unreasonable. Why was she the one being asked to leave?

"Yes." Isaac nodded expressionlessly. "If you're not comfortable, I'll have someone help you pack."

Kalista's expression turned ugly, asking with a sense of grievance, "I haven't done anything wrong. Why are you asking me to leave?"

Isaac replied, "Nora doesn't like you. Your presence here will affect her recovery."

"Do you want me to leave just because she doesn't like me?" Kalista's eyes welled up with tears, her voice trembling with anger.

Isaac said, "Yes, any question?"
