Chapter 403: Sophia is Dying, Saying the Final Goodbye
Liora's heart trembled slightly.
Was Isaac going to tell her a secret?
If he was willing to share a secret with her, it meant she held a special place in his heart.
Liora felt a rush of excitement and nodded eagerly, "Okay, I swear, no matter what you tell me, I will keep it a secret and never tell a third person. If I break my word, may I suffer a terrible fate!"
Isaac replied, "I'm doing this because I have no other choice."
Liora's heart sank, and she quickly asked, "What do you mean by no other choice? Is someone forcing you?"
Isaac looked up at her, "Who else do you think it could be?"
Liora's heart skipped a beat, and her face instantly darkened as a wave of anger surged through her.
"Is it my mom?"
Isaac withdrew his gaze and looked down at the water in his cup.
He didn't answer Liora's question, nor did he deny it.
To Liora, his silence felt like a confirmation.
She was so angry that her whole body trembled, her eyes turned red, and her fists clenched tightly.
How could Sylvie do this?
Isaac had already said he disliked Amara's noisy personality and had a better impression of her.
But Sylvie had agreed on the surface to let her stepping in for Amara, while secretly threatening Isaac to continue seeing Amara.
"So you don't like Amara? You stayed with her and dated her because my mom forced you, right?" Liora asked.
Isaac nodded, "Yes."
Liora's face darkened even more.
She was now convinced that Sylvie favored Amara and wanted to forcefully pair Isaac with Amara.
The reason Sylvie had let her come over was just for show, making sure Liora wouldn't hold a grudge against them.
She had always known Sylvie preferred Amara, but she never thought it would go this far!
Isaac had already made his choice, yet Sylvie still intervened behind the scenes.
She was too much!
No matter what she did, no matter who Isaac chose, Sylvie wouldn't care and would only give Amara everything Amara wanted.
Liora felt a mix of anger and despair.
No matter how excellent she was, no matter how hard she competed, she could never win against Amara.
Because the judge's heart was biased from the start.
Would Sylvie only give Isaac to her if Amara died and there was no other choice?
A dark impulse quickly surged in Liora's heart.
That impulse spread rapidly, becoming uncontrollable.
She wanted Amara to disappear!
Only if Amara disappeared from this world could she get what she wanted!
She wasn't being malicious; she was forced into this!
Isaac said dejectedly, "Forget it, I don't have an appetite. You eat by yourself. I'm going out for a walk."
He stood up and walked straight out.
Liora snapped back to reality and hurried after him, "Where are you going? Let me accompany you. I may not be as smooth as Amara, but I can be a good listener."
Isaac refused, "Don't follow me. I need some time alone."
Liora had no choice but to stop.
She watched Isaac's back and suddenly made a decision.
Isaac must be in a bad mood because he was forced to date someone he disliked.
She had to protect Isaac and solve his problems.
'Amara, you deserve to die!'
'And Sylvie...'
Liora's eyes grew colder.
Now was not the time to act against Sylvie.
She would wait until she married Isaac and had his support before dealing with Sylvie.
Otherwise, if Sylvie fell now, the Hansen family's business would be in chaos.
Although she believed she was capable enough to take over Sylvie's affairs, there were too many people in the family, and it would be hard to gain their support.
The next day, Liora quietly instructed her trusted subordinate to contact a hitman.
Isaac had been secretly monitoring Amara and Liora, and this matter was reported to him immediately.
Isaac looked at the report and sneered. What a fake family bond.
Liora was truly ruthless.
She had no feelings for her own sister Amara and was so eager to kill her.
However, this was good for him.
Because both Liora and Amara were at Isaac's house, Isaac couldn't leave to visit Nora and the two children at the vacation lodge.
So only Rhys could go.
It was time for Soren's stitches to be removed.
After the stitches were removed, Soren seemed to be able to hear some sounds.
Nora was so excited that she burst into tears and kissed Soren several times.
After Soren could hear a little, she finally started speaking again.
Magnus was still in a coma, but his body was recovering well, and Rhys scheduled another surgery for him.
This time, the surgery lasted less than two hours, and everything went very smoothly.
Rhys said Magnus's condition was stable and he was steadily recovering.
But he didn't know when Magnus would wake up.
Nora was a bit disappointed.
But as long as Magnus was alive, there was hope.
Nora sat by the bedside, looking at Magnus's increasingly pale face, feeling heartbroken.
"Magnus, you've slept long enough. No more lazing around, okay? How about you wake up tomorrow and call me 'Mommy'? You haven't called me 'Mommy' in a long time, and Mommy misses you so much."
She reached out and gently touched Magnus's cheek.
Just then, her phone suddenly rang.
Nora was startled and quickly took out her phone to answer the call.
On the other end, Sophia's weak voice came through, "Nora."
Nora's heart dropped at the sound of her voice. "What happened? Where are you?"
Sophia was panting and sounded weak, "My stomach hurts so bad."
Nora did a quick mental check and realized Sophia's due date was indeed approaching. It was a bit early, but still within the normal range.
Because of Magnus and Soren's situation, she had been so focused on them that she almost forgot Sophia was about to give birth.
Nora spoke, "Don't worry. Tell me where you are. What about the maid I hired for you? Is she with you? Have her take you to the hospital, and I'll be there soon!"
Sophia's voice was weak. "I don't know where I am. I was kidnapped and managed to escaped. I fell into a ditch. It hurts so much..."
"Nora, my bank card password is the date we started our business together. After I die, half of my inheritance goes to you, and the other half to my grandpa..."
Nora cut her off, panic rising in her voice. "Don't talk like that! I'm calling the police right away. Keep your phone on, and let the police call you to get your location. They'll find you quickly!"
Sophia's voice trembled with tears. "Nora, I don't want to leave you. I can't make it. See you in the next life."
She wasn't about to give birth; she had been stabbed while escaping.
The stab wound was in her abdomen, and she was bleeding profusely.
She could almost see her deceased relatives beckoning to her.
This was a remote area, and it would take at least three hours for the police to find her.
Sophia knew she couldn't hold on until help arrived, so she didn't call the police. Instead, she contacted Nora, wanting to hear her voice one last time and say goodbye.
"Nora, I love you. Take care of yourself and don't be sad for me."
