Chapter 308 Magnus Is Up to No Good Again
Rhys smiled confidently and raised an eyebrow. "With me as the lead surgeon, how could there be any surprises? The surgery was successfully completed! I also injected Magnus with a special drug I just brought back, which can accelerate bone healing so that he can be discharged after half a month and live a normal life. But he can't do any strenuous activities, otherwise, the bones could easily break."
Nora's tears instantly flowed, and her worries were completely relieved.
Rhys looked at Isaac and said, "I'll go study a bit first and check on Edmund tomorrow."
If he went to see Edmund directly now, there might be some errors for he had been performing surgery on Magnus and was now a bit tired.
Isaac nodded.
Magnus was sent to the ICU.
Nora followed and stayed at the door for a while. Seeing that it was getting late, she then called the nurse and bodyguard to stay, and she went to pick up Soren.
Isaac silently followed her. Seeing her leave the hospital, he also left. He even went with her to pick up Soren.
Nora did not refuse his company, because in her current state, she couldn't drive.
After picking up Soren and taking them home, Isaac helped them make dinner and then prepared to leave.
"Daddy, aren't you staying tonight?" Soren tugged at his clothes, looking up at him with eyes full of reluctance.
Isaac patted her head. "No, I have something to do tonight. I'll be back later. You go to bed early, and I'll take you to kindergarten in the morning."
Hearing this, Soren happily let go of him.
Isaac said goodbye to Nora and then turned to leave. He still needed to talk to Rhys about Edmund.
The next day, after Nora and Isaac took Soren to school, they went to the hospital together.
Rhys was going to start treating Edmund today.
Since no surgery was needed, Edmund's treatment could be done directly in the ward.
Rhys moved the equipment he brought back into the ward.
The equipment had something similar to a magnetic patch that was attached to the head.
On the first day, Rhys only treated Edmund for half an hour before finishing.
The second day, it increased to an hour.
The third day, the time continued to grow.
As time went by, Rhys spent more and more time treating Edmund.
In the end, the equipment was continuously connected to Edmund's head and was never removed.
Every day, Nora would visit Magnus first and then go see Edmund.
After Magnus's surgery, Mortimer returned from a business trip and learned about Magnus's condition, visiting him every day.
Compared to Nora, Magnus seemed to prefer spending time with Mortimer.
Nora felt a bit hurt, but since Magnus was still injured, she had to let him call Mortimer to accompany him every day.
Initially, Isaac would visit Magnus. But since Mortimer arrived, he hadn't gone even once.
The first time they ran into each other, they almost got into a fight.
Nora was very troubled. She didn't want to have too much involvement with Mortimer and she just wanted to be friends with him. But Magnus's sudden change made her hope seem like a luxury.
Magnus relied so much on Mortimer, not only wanting to see him every day but also wanting him to stay overnight.
Nora feared that after being discharged, Magnus would insist on having Mortimer accompany him to sleep every night.
Time flew by. Half a month had passed.
Magnus's body recovered quickly. What would take others at least two to three months to recover from, thanks to Rhys's special drug, he could walk after just half a month.
Nora helped Magnus with the discharge procedures and took him home.
Soren was very happy to see Magnus finally home. As soon as Magnus entered the door, she ran towards him.
"Magnus, you're finally home. I missed you so much!" She opened her arms, wanting to hug Magnus.
But Magnus stepped back, seemingly very disdainful of Soren's hug.
Soren was stunned, looking at Magnus in disbelief.
She had lived with him since she was little. They held hands every day, hugged every day, and even slept together. A day without hugging felt like something was missing.
But now, he actually disliked her and didn't want to hug her. Then the grievance instantly welled up in her heart. And she started crying sadly.
Nora hurriedly squatted down to hug Soren, patting her back and soothing her, "Why are you crying? Don't cry, please, Mommy is here."
Soren cried so hard she could barely catch her breath. "Magnus won't let me hug him. He doesn't love me anymore!"
Nora's face stiffened a bit. She had also noticed that Magnus deliberately avoid Soren's hug. She felt hurt too but could only comfort Soren, "Magnus just got discharged, his body isn't fully recovered yet, he can't get bumped or hurt. Once he's better, you can hug like before. For now, be patient, Mommy will hug you."
Soren lay in Nora's arms, crying very sadly.
Nora comforted her for a long time before Soren stopped crying.
When she let go of Soren, she found that Magnus had already walked into the living room and also messed up the puzzle Soren was halfway through.
Soren's eyes turned red again, and tears started falling down her cheeks.
Nora's heart ached a bit that Magnus had become so cold.
Soren was his sister, and seeing her cry so sadly, he didn't care at all and just went to play games by himself.
"Mommy, I'm fine. Don't be mad at Magnus, don't blame him. He's injured and in a bad mood, that's why he's ignoring me. If I behave better, he'll like me as he used to!" Seeing Nora's face darken, Soren quickly grabbed her clothes, anxiously defending Magnus.
Nora felt a pang of sorrow and rubbed Soren's head. "You go play for a while, I'll make dinner for you."
Since Edmund was connected to the equipment all day, Isaac spent most of his time after work at the hospital, no longer coming back with her, so she had to cook by herself.
Soren nodded obediently. She then walked into the living room, looking at Magnus playing games. To ease their relationship and return to how they were before, she walked up to Magnus. "Magnus, can we play together?"
Magnus looked up at her. Then he pushed her down.
"Mommy!" Soren's scream echoed through the living room and into the kitchen.
