Chapter 537 Asking Mortimer for Help
Nora took a deep breath to calm herself down.
She walked over to Magnus, picked him up, and strode out.
As she walked, she said to him, "I don't know what's going on yet. I'll go check it out first."
"I don't have time to wait for the nanny to come back and watch you, so you'll come with me."
Magnus obediently wrapped his arms around her neck and nestled quietly in her embrace, his eyes full of worry.
Magnus thought, 'Soren, please don't get into any trouble.'
If something happened to Soren, Nora would be very sad.
Isaac had already betrayed Nora. If something happened to Soren, it would be a double blow to Nora.
Nora quickly went downstairs with Magnus in her arms.
After finding her car in the parking lot, she placed Magnus in the child seat in the back, got in the car herself, and quickly drove to the address the nanny had given her.
When she arrived at the scene, the police were already there.
Nora got out of the car, walked up to the nanny, and asked urgently, "How's the investigation going? Have they found out who kidnapped Soren? Do they know where Soren was taken?"
The nanny, feeling guilty, couldn't look Nora in the eye and choked out, "The police said they've notified the traffic control department to help check the surveillance along the way. They're taking statements here, but they haven't found Ms. Soren Foster's whereabouts yet."
"Ms. Nora Foster, I'm sorry. It's our lack of vigilance that gave the bad guys an opportunity."
After saying that, the nanny covered her face and started crying.
If something happened to Soren, she would never be able to live in peace.
Nora's heart sank to the bottom, filled with anxiety.
But the police were investigating, and she had no other way but to urge them to hurry.
Suddenly, Nora thought of something and immediately took out her phone to call Mortimer.
The call was quickly answered.
Mortimer's voice, filled with joy, came through the phone, "Nora, it's rare for you to contact me first. What's up?"
Nora said urgently, "Mortimer, I need your help."
"What kind of help?" Mortimer asked, "Don't worry, just tell me. No matter what it is, I'll do my best to help you."
Hearing Nora's trembling and choked voice, he immediately softened his tone.
Nora said, "Soren has been kidnapped. Can you help me find out?"
"The police are already investigating, but I think it's too slow. With the Radcliffe family's resources, it should be faster."
Mortimer immediately said, "Okay, tell me where Soren was kidnapped and all the information you know. I'll arrange for someone to investigate right away!"
He didn't ask too many questions and directly inquired about the key information.
While continuing the call on his mobile phone, he used his landline to contact his subordinates, instructing them to prepare people to act as soon as he got the details.
Nora could hear Mortimer making arrangements, and she felt a surge of gratitude.
She immediately told Mortimer the limited information she knew.
"I only know where Soren was kidnapped, nothing else."
She gave Mortimer the address.
Mortimer asked, "What about the time of the kidnapping? If we have the time, checking the surveillance will be more efficient."
Nora immediately said, "Around 8:10, give or take a few minutes."
Mortimer said, "Okay, I had the speakerphone on, and my people heard the information and have already started investigating. We'll definitely find out. Don't worry."
"Where are you now? I'll come to you."
Nora said, "I'm at the place where Soren was kidnapped."
"Mortimer, thank you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know who to ask for help."
Hearing this, Mortimer instinctively asked, "Didn't you ask Isaac for help?"
Nora's voice turned somber, "I have nothing to do with him anymore. He has a new family now, and it's not appropriate for me to bother him."
She had thought of Isaac at first, but in the end, she chose to call Mortimer.
Although the Radcliffe family's financial resources couldn't compare to the Porter family's, in other aspects, they weren't much inferior.
Mortimer also had skilled hackers under him who could quickly check the surveillance along the way.
She and Isaac had fallen out so badly that she didn't want to contact him again.
If Amara found out, she would definitely cause trouble, thinking she was trying to seduce Isaac.
"Thank you for trusting me," Mortimer said seriously, his voice full of joy. "I won't let you down. Soren will be fine!"
Nora nodded gently, "Yes, Soren will be fine!"
It seemed like she was comforting herself, speaking with determination.
As if by saying it, Soren would indeed be fine.
Nora hung up the phone.
Not long after, Mortimer arrived in his car.
"Nora!" Mortimer parked by the roadside. He didn't get out of the car but rolled down the window and called her.
Nora immediately walked over.
Mortimer said, "On the way here, my people already told me part of the route the car that took Soren escaped on. I told them to report whatever they found. Get in my car, and I'll take you to find him."
Nora immediately nodded, "Okay, wait a moment. I'll bring Magnus."
Magnus was still in her car, and she couldn't leave him alone here.
The two nannies were very remorseful because Soren had been kidnapped, and they were in no state to take care of Magnus, so, she had to take him with her.
Mortimer frowned and said, "It's not suitable to bring Magnus."
"If Magnus sees us anxious, he'll get nervous too, which isn't good for his health."
"And if Soren was kidnapped by criminals, we might confront them, which wouldn't be good for Magnus either."
Nora's heart sank. She had been so worried about Soren that she forgot the tense atmosphere could affect Magnus too.
"But I can't find anyone to take care of him now," Nora said bitterly.
Mortimer said, "How about I have someone take care of him for now? Would that be okay?"
Because Magnus and Soren had had an incident under his care, he didn't dare make the decision without asking Nora.
Nora hesitated for only two seconds before nodding and accepting his suggestion.
There was no other way now. She had to let Mortimer find someone to take care of Magnus.
She was personally handing Magnus over to Mortimer, so he wouldn't dare do anything.
Mortimer immediately contacted his subordinates.
The car following him had his people, and they came over right away.
Mortimer instructed them to take Magnus to his villa and take good care of him.
"Mommy, I want to go with you to find Soren!" Magnus was unhappy when he saw that Nora wouldn't take him.
