Chapter 367 He Inherited the Bloodline Worse Than Beasts
This surgery lasted a very long time.
It took nearly ten hours before the lights in the operating room went out.
The door to the operating room opened, and Rhys came out, looking exhausted, his eyes bloodshot.
Such a meticulous surgery required constant focus.
Staring at the instruments for ten hours straight, his vision began to blur, and he felt extremely fatigued.
"Rhys, how did it go?" Nora asked anxiously.
Rhys said, "The surgery went well, but Soren's ear was severely damaged. It can't be fixed with just one surgery; multiple procedures will be needed in the future."
"After she recovers this time, we'll test how much she has recovered and then plan the subsequent treatment."
Nora was a bit disappointed.
But having a chance to heal still meant there was hope.
Isaac said, "Thank you for your hard work."
Isaac and Nora accompanied Soren to the ward.
Looking at Soren lying in the gurney, Isaac was deep in thought.
Soren could now receive treatment and there was a possibility that her ear can be healed, but what about Magnus?
Magnus was also poisoned, rendered mute and deaf. He hadn't received any treatment yet. How were his ears and throat?
The longer the delay, the smaller the chances of a full recovery.
"What's wrong? Why do you look so worried?" Nora turned to look at Isaac, seeing his low spirits and sensing he had something on his mind, she couldn't help but ask.
For the past five days, Isaac had been taking care of Magnus at home and visiting her and Soren every day, making Soren very happy.
Her complaints about Isaac had lessened a lot, and she occasionally showed some concern for him.
Isaac shook his head, "Nothing, I was just thinking about sending them away, and I'm a bit reluctant."
Nora's eyes dimmed a bit.
She was also reluctant.
She wanted to be with the children every day, to watch them grow up.
But for the children's safety, she had to painfully send them away.
"We can visit them often." Nora thought for a moment and said.
Isaac smiled, "Alright, I'll head back now. Take care of Soren and yourself."
Nora nodded.
As Isaac walked out of the ward, the smile on his face disappeared.
Thinking of Magnus still suffering at the Hansen Manor, his heart ached.
Even if he couldn't rescue Magnus immediately, he had to find a way to get Magnus treated first, to prevent him from being permanently disabled.
Isaac walked to the hospital entrance, and Wesley was already waiting with the car.
After Isaac got in, Wesley drove towards the villa.
Isaac said, "Go to Minnalora."
Wesley was stunned, "What are you going to Minnalora for?"
Minnalora was Hansen family territory, and the Porter family had no business there.
It was the only city in Horizonia where the Porter family had no presence.
Actually, they used to have a presence there.
But after the incident with Daxton, the Porter family withdrew all their businesses from there...
Isaac said coldly, "Just go, no more questions."
Wesley shrank back and didn't dare to ask further, driving towards Minnalora.
By the time they reached Minnalora, it was already daylight.
Isaac kicked Wesley out of the car and drove himself to the Hansen Manor.
At the Hansen Manor.
Sylvie was not angry to see the uninvited Isaac; instead, she had a smug smile on her face.
"It seems you are quite trustworthy, knowing to come and fulfill the agreement."
Isaac sat down opposite her with a grim expression.
Sylvie leaned back on the sofa, exuding a strong aura, "Since you're here, let's discuss the engagement date. We'll set the engagement first and then prepare for the wedding."
Isaac interrupted her coldly, "I didn't come here to discuss the marriage."
Sylvie's face darkened, anger rising, "Are you trying to back out? I've already let you take your daughter, showing great sincerity, and you dare to play with me?"
"Isaac, I'm not someone to be trifled with. If you mess with me, you won't have a good end!"
"In Horizonia, it's not about who has more money; power always trumps wealth in this world.. You better think carefully before you speak to me!"
Sylvie's words were harsh.
But Isaac remained indifferent, not provoked.
Isaac looked at Sylvie coldly and stated his purpose, "I'm here to see my son. His throat and ears are injured. I need to take him for treatment first. Once his ears and throat are healed, then I'll consider discussing the marriage."
Sylvie sneered, "That boy is my hostage now. You have no right to make demands. If you want to save him, you must first marry into the Hansen family, or there's nothing to discuss!"
"Isaac, I know you're smart, but don't take us for fools."
Isaac said coldly, "I need to heal him first before agreeing to the marriage, or there's nothing to discuss."
Sylvie's eyes narrowed dangerously, "Aren't you afraid I'll kill him?"
Isaac laughed mockingly, "He's deaf and mute now. If his injuries can't be healed, he's a cripple."
"A deaf and mute cripple, what use is he to me?"
"He would only be a burden, a stain on me."
"If you kill him, you'd be doing me a favor by solving a problem. I'd be grateful."
"After all, I'm still young. There are plenty of women willing to have children with me. If I want kids, I can always have healthy ones."
Sylvie's pupils contracted, a chill rising in her heart.
Isaac was so heartless.
Talking about his own son's life, Isaac was so indifferent, as if discussing the life of a cat or dog.
Even for a cat or dog, a normal person would feel sympathy upon hearing that they are going to die.
But Isaac could still laugh when talking about his son's potential death!
Sylvie quickly composed herself, coldly scrutinizing Isaac, "Stop pretending. I don't believe you're indifferent to your son's life. If you really didn't care, you wouldn't have come here. You would have just broken the agreement and not contacted me!"
Sylvie's mood calmed down again.
Isaac mocked, "I'm not a beast; of course, I care about my son's life."
"But I'm a businessman, I understand trade-offs."
"If saving him benefits me more than it costs, of course, I'll save him."
"But if saving him is useless, even if I'm reluctant, I'll painfully decide to give him up."
"A businessman never makes a losing deal."
Sylvie's breath hitched, full of shock, momentarily speechless.
She looked at Isaac and said coldly, "Treating your own son as a commodity, you are truly cold-blooded."
Isaac mocked, "You know whose son I am. Inheriting some of his beastly traits isn't surprising, is it?"
