Chapter 348 A Major Shift in Attitude Towards Him
Isaac nodded and said, "It's ok, I won't say anything for now."
Before Soren was found, he didn't have the face to reclaim his own child.
He didn't even know how to confess to Nora.
Isaac carried Magnus back to the lobby.
Nora looked at them and complained, "Why did it take so long? I'm starving."
Isaac said, "I had a bowel movement."
Nora stood up, "Then let's go eat."
"By the way, where's Soren? Why haven't you had someone bring her over yet?"
"She's been playing all day; she must be hungry too. Hurry and bring her over to eat with us."
Isaac's eyes flickered, and he said, "Grandpa came by this afternoon and took Soren to play somewhere else. She won't be hungry with Grandpa."
He decided to keep it from Nora for now, so she wouldn't worry.
He had sent so many people to look for Soren; they would definitely find her.
Once Soren was back, he would confess to Nora.
As for Edmund, he would find a time to explain after dinner.
Nora didn't suspect anything, "Alright, let's take Magnus to eat then."
"Why are Magnus's eyes red? Has he been crying?"
Nora glanced at Isaac, "Did you bully him?"
Isaac denied, "I didn't."
Nora asked, puzzled, "Then why are his eyes red? His eyelashes are still wet; it's obvious he's been crying."
Isaac pressed his lips together, not knowing how to answer.
Nora, feeling sorry for Magnus, reached out to hold him and comfort him.
She knew Magnus didn't like Isaac and must be very nervous and scared in his arms.
Maybe Isaac had scared him into crying.
However, when her hand touched Magnus, he avoided it, wrapping his little arms around Isaac's neck and resting his face on Isaac's shoulder, saying sullenly, "I want Daddy to hold me, not you."
Nora's movements froze, and a hint of shock and bewilderment appeared in her eyes.
Didn't Magnus dislike Isaac a lot?
Why was he now actively wanting Isaac to hold him?
What had Isaac said to Magnus in the restroom to make him change his attitude so suddenly?
Nora could only withdraw her hand, pat Magnus's head, and smile lightly, "Alright, let Isaac hold you. Let's go eat."
Although she didn't know why Magnus's attitude towards Isaac had changed so drastically, it was ultimately a good change.
Nora smiled happily.
She walked side by side with Isaac, and they went to the hotel's restaurant to eat.
During the meal, Magnus still stuck close to Isaac.
Seeing Magnus sitting beside him and his attitude improving, Isaac felt a bit better and temporarily forgot that Soren hadn't returned safely yet.
He kept serving food to Magnus.
Seeing Magnus eat happily, he felt very satisfied.
After dinner, the two of them took Magnus for a walk in the garden behind the hotel.
Isaac thought again about what Magnus had said to him in the restroom.
He said that after leaving the house today, he had been with Nora and Mortimer the whole time.
Isaac turned to Nora and asked, "Have you been with Magnus the whole time since you went out today?"
Nora nodded, "Yes, why?"
Isaac didn't answer, continuing to ask, "He never left your sight?"
Nora thought for a moment and said, "He did for a bit, but not for long."
"After we got out of the car, Mortimer went to park, and I waited with Magnus by the roadside. During that time, I took a phone call, and Magnus ran to the nearby supermarket to buy something to eat and came back quickly."
Although Magnus had gone into the supermarket alone, she hadn't watched him only during that time. The rest of the time, she kept an eye on him, afraid he would run off.
Isaac's eyes deepened.
He thought that maybe during that brief time out of Nora's sight, Magnus had run to the roadside, been spotted by Soren, and then both were kidnapped, but somehow Magnus had returned alone.
Isaac was in turmoil.
Magnus must have seen Soren, but why was he lying?
No, when he questioned Magnus in the restroom, Magnus didn't seem to be lying.
He seemed to genuinely not remember meeting Soren.
Isaac suddenly remembered that Nora had said Magnus acted like he had never been to the amusement park or restaurant she had taken him to before, having no memory of those places.
Could it be that Magnus had another episode and forgotten about meeting Soren?
Isaac felt very conflicted.
He didn't know if this was a good thing or not.
Magnus forgetting about being kidnapped meant he wouldn't have psychological trauma.
But this way, he couldn't get more details about Soren's abduction.
"Why are you suddenly asking this?" Nora asked, puzzled.
Isaac shook his head, "Nothing, we've played all day and Magnus is tired. Let's take him back to the room to rest."
Nora looked down at Magnus, who indeed looked exhausted, his eyes barely open.
She lovingly picked him up and said softly, "Alright, let's take him back to the room."
Once Magnus was picked up, he seemed to perk up a bit.
He glanced at Nora, then reached out to Isaac, "Daddy, hold me."
Isaac smiled and took him.
Magnus nestled into his arms, rubbed his little face against Isaac's chest, and then closed his eyes, falling asleep in less than ten seconds.
Nora was shocked.
"What is going on? Before we went out today, Magnus was still so resistant to you. Why is he so dependent on you now?"
"No, even in the hotel lobby earlier, Magnus was still cold to you. But after you took him to the restroom, he seemed to like you."
"Isaac, what did you do to Magnus in the restroom? Why did his attitude towards you change so much?"
Isaac smiled, "He was probably charmed by my personality."
Nora couldn't help but roll her eyes.
If Magnus was really charmed by Isaac's personality, why wasn't he charmed earlier or later, but only after a trip to the restroom?
She wasn't a three-year-old; she wouldn't believe Isaac's explanation!
Even a three-year-old wouldn't believe it!
Nora scrutinized him, "Did you hit Magnus? I've heard of a mental disorder called Stockholm Syndrome, where a person becomes attached to someone who constantly abuses them."
Isaac's mouth twitched, and he lightly nibbled on her face, "Don't make wild guesses. Do I seem like that kind of pervert?"
"Besides, the condition you mentioned requires long-term abuse to develop, and it only happens when the victim can only see their abuser. They then develop a pathological attachment to that person."
"I took Magnus to the restroom for just ten minutes; there wasn't enough time."
"Moreover, do you see any signs of abuse on Magnus?"
Nora sheepishly touched her head.
She also thought her guess was far-fetched.
But she couldn't think of a reasonable explanation either, that's why she thought of the absurd idea of Stockholm Syndrome.
Even though it was quite unreasonable.
Isaac said, "Alright, stop overthinking. Kids' thoughts are all over the place; they change every day. Magnus also suddenly become irritable and unreasonable before, even hurting people randomly."
"Compared to his previous changes, this one isn't that important."
