Chapter 447: The love and happiness he possesses are all stolen.

Magnus indeed wouldn't tattle.

He just became more and more timid after being bullied repeatedly. Whenever he saw the servants coming his way, fear would flash across his face.

To avoid them, he locked himself in his room except during meal times, sitting on the toilet without his pants to prevent any accidents and avoid their scorn.

He spent so long on the toilet that gravity started to take its toll, leading to signs of rectal prolapse.

This was discovered when Rhys was examining his body.

Rhys suspected that Magnus had psychological issues, possibly related to his environment, and advised careful observation to find the root cause for a solution.

So Isaac secretly assigned people to monitor Magnus at home.

They finally discovered that Magnus was being bullied in such a manner!

In his own home, Magnus was being bullied by the servants!

Isaac was almost driven mad with anger when he found out.

At the same time, he felt deeply guilty.

If he had been more attentive, Magnus wouldn't have been bullied for so long.

After interrogation, those people confessed that they started losing patience with Magnus less than a week after he returned home.

Because he often couldn't control his bowel and bladder.

The medication he was taking caused gastrointestinal discomfort, leading to frequent and smelly bowel movements every day.

Often, just after changing him, he would soil himself again.

Sometimes, while holding him, the servants would end up soiling themselves too.

They felt anger and disgust. They'd show their impatience and mutter insults under their breath as they changed his clothes and cleaned him up.

But at other times, they treated Magnus well and did not abuse him.

Even when caught, they were still making excuses.

However, they forgot that Isaac had hired twelve servants, allowing them to schedule shifts to take care of Magnus, with each earning fifty thousand dollars a month.

They only needed to keep Magnus clean and tidy; they didn't have to cook or clean.

No matter how much Magnus could excrete, it was impossible for him to do so every moment of the day, at most ten times a day.

Such an easy job with such high pay, yet they still bullied Magnus.

If it weren't illegal to kill, Isaac would have wanted to kill them!

Isaac fired them and sued them for abuse.

He also arranged for people to monitor them, ensuring that they and their families would never find good jobs again!

He also punished Kieran.

Magnus was bullied at home, and Kieran knew nothing about it, which was also a dereliction of duty.

Isaac composed himself.

He carried Magnus to the bathroom, cleaned him himself, put on a diaper, and then carried him back to bed.

Magnus clung to him tightly, refusing to let him go, so Isaac stayed and slept with him.

Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts drifted far away.

With Magnus in such a vulnerable state, he dared not let Nora know of his existence.

Fortunately, Nora didn't know she had another son.

The next day.

Nora had just gotten up when she received a package sent by someone from Sophia.

She opened it and found a bank card and a note inside.

The note had a string of numbers and a message

[There are five hundred million dollars in the card. If you can't fulfill your orders, just pay the penalty as outlined in the contract. This money is enough to cover it. You'll still have plenty left over for you and the kids to live comfortably. You can enjoy life without the stress of having to work hard while taking care of the kids.]

Nora was shocked.

She didn't expect Sophia to give her five hundred million dollars.

Even if she had to pay for the unfinished orders, it wouldn't cost more than ten million dollars, yet Sophia gave her five hundred million.

Feeling complicated, Nora called Sophia.

The call was quickly answered, but it was very noisy on the other end.

It sounded like an airport.

"Nora, did you receive the package I sent?" Sophia asked loudly.

Nora replied, "I got it. Why did you give me so much money? Even if I have to pay for the unfinished orders, it wouldn't cost that much."

Sophia laughed, "I know it wouldn't cost that much. The rest is for you to enjoy!"

"I told you before, when I have money, I'll take care of you. Did you think I was joking?"

Nora was speechless, "This is ridiculous. I can't accept so much money. I'll transfer it back to your account."

Sophia giggled, "I knew you'd do that, so I closed my old account overnight. I've got a new one now, and I'm not telling you the number, so you can't send it back!"

Nora was silent.

Sophia continued, "Don't feel bad. You've helped me a lot before and even saved my life. I think five hundred million is too little. If I weren't worried about overwhelming you, I would have kept one hundred million for myself and given you the rest!"

"Just take it. If I run out of money while I'm out, I'll come back and let you take care of me. Don't turn me away!"

"That's it. I'm about to board. Talk later!"

Nora sighed helplessly, "Alright, take care."

After hanging up, Nora prepared to take the kids out for a walk.

Magnus and Soren had been cooped up in the villa for too long and wanted to see the bustling city.

Since Magnus couldn't walk for long, she brought a wheelchair. If Magnus got tired, she would push him in the wheelchair.

Soren had been craving KFC for a long time, so Nora took them to a nearby mall to eat.

Magnus could eat too.

He had mostly recovered, but his bones weren't strong enough yet, so they had to be extra careful to avoid further injury.

Magnus and Soren ate with great enjoyment.

Halfway through, Soren suddenly clutched his stomach, "Mommy, my tummy hurts. I need to go to the bathroom."

"Okay, I'll take you to the bathroom now," Nora comforted her gently.

Then she said to Magnus, "Magnus, stay here for a while and don't wander off."

The mall had good security, with guards patrolling and sometimes even entering the stores, so as long as Magnus didn't leave, he wouldn't be in danger.

Magnus nodded obediently.

Nora immediately carried Soren to the restroom.

As soon as they left, a tall man quietly approached Magnus.

Feeling a presence hovering above him, Magnus glanced up.

When he saw the man's face, he was filled with terror, and his body began to tremble instinctively.

"Magnus, why aren't you calling me?" The man smiled gently, his voice warm and seemingly harmless, exuding extreme gentleness.

Magnus's lips trembled as he stammered, "Uncle Mortimer."

Mortimer smiled and ruffled his hair, "Good boy."

Magnus felt a chill sweep over his entire body from the top of his head, and he trembled even more.

Mortimer asked, "Why didn't you tell me you had come back to the city? Have you forgotten why I brought you back to your mommy?"

Magnus clenched his fists, too scared to speak.

Mortimer leaned down to Magnus's ear and whispered, "Don't forget the reason you were able to return to your mommy. If you don't behave, I'll tell her that you're not the real Magnus, that the real Magnus died because of you."

"Do you think your mommy will still love you if she knows you caused the real Magnus's death? Would she want to kill you to avenge the real Magnus?"

Magnus's face turned pale, filled with terror and sadness.

Mortimer continued, "Even if you're also her child, the real Magnus was the one she watched grow up. She loved Magnus the most. If you caused the death of her most beloved child, even if she doesn't kill you, she will hate you."

"Don't forget, your identity is stolen. The love and life you enjoy now are stolen."

"If you don't want to lose all of this, then continue to follow my orders."

"Otherwise, I'll make you go back to being Barrett."

"I can give you everything, and I can take it all away."

Magnus shook his head in panic, "No, I don't want to go back, I don't want to go back to my old life!"

Before he was three, his world was only as big as a villa.

He had never stepped out of that range.

Although there were people to take care of him, they were only responsible for his daily needs and didn't even want to say an extra word to him.

He had no peers around him and felt stuck in that small world.

He was like a bird trapped in a cage.

Lonely and numb.

Life was like a stagnant pool.

He didn't want to go back to his old life.

Even if he could never have his own name, even if he had to live under the name of Magnus forever, he didn't want to go back.

If he had never left that small world, he might have continued to live numbly as before.

But now that he had seen a broader world and felt a lot of love, he greedily wanted more and didn't want to go back.

Mortimer curled his lips and said warmly, "Take my number off the blacklist, tell your mommy you want to live with me, and I won't expose your identity. You can continue to enjoy your current life."

Magnus nodded, trembling.

Mortimer smiled with satisfaction, "I'll be waiting for your good news."

"I'm leaving now. Don't tell your mommy you saw me."

Seeing Magnus nod numbly, Mortimer left.

Nora soon returned with Soren.

Soren happily continued eating.

She stuffed a French fry into her mouth and blinked her big eyes at Magnus, "Magnus, why aren't you eating?"

While helping Soren tidy her clothes, Nora looked back at Magnus and saw his pale face.

She asked worriedly, "Magnus, what's wrong? Why do you look so down?"

"Are you feeling unwell?"

"Is your back hurting?"

Nora quickly moved to Magnus's side, her expression very serious, "If you're feeling unwell, you have to let me know. I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up right away."

His body couldn't afford any problems now. Even a small issue could lead to serious consequences, so she was on edge.

Magnus shook his head, "I'm not feeling unwell."

It was his heart that was unwell.

Nora asked, "Then what's wrong? Why did your mood suddenly drop?"

Magnus pressed his lips tightly together.

After a long while, he finally asked in a low voice, "Mommy, if you had other children, would you love them?"

Nora was stunned. Why did Magnus suddenly ask this?

She suddenly remembered that when Magnus used to throw tantrums, he always said they didn't love him.

Was he asking this because he lacked a sense of security?

Was he worried that if she had another child, she would ignore his feelings and not love him as much as she does now?

Or was he worried that the love he currently has would be divided?

Nora had read discussions about planning to have another child before. Many people said that the first child would feel lost after the second child was born.

Even if parents treated them fairly, the first child would still feel lost and angry.

Because before the second child, all the parents' love was given to the first child, who would feel that everything was theirs. The second child was an intruder, taking away their love.

So, parents needed to love the first child even more, making them feel that even with a sibling, they were still the most loved.

Then gradually guided them to like their own sibling.

This way, the family atmosphere could be maintained, and the child's psychology wouldn't suffer, preventing psychological issues.

Nora thought for a moment and then smiled gently at Magnus, "Mommy has you and Soren, and that's enough."

"Even if there were other children in the future, Mommy would still love Magnus and Soren the most. No one can replace your place in Mommy's heart."

Nora wanted to reassure Magnus, to make him feel secure that no one would take away the love his parents had for him.

But after hearing this, Magnus felt even worse.

Nora indeed only loved the Magnus she had watched grow up.

If she found out he wasn't the real Magnus, she wouldn't accept him.

If Nora knew his true identity, she wouldn't love him as much.

Moreover, Nora would resent him for the real Magnus's disappearance.

He couldn't let Nora know his identity.

So, he had to listen to Mortimer.

"Sweetie, what's wrong? Why are you unhappy?" Nora asked worriedly, "You have to believe Mommy. Mommy won't lie to you. You and Soren will always be my most beloved children. I won't stop loving you, and I won't abandon you. Don't overthink it."

Without a word, Magnus started eating gloomily.

Seeing him silent, Nora could only sigh helplessly.

She needed to pay more attention to Magnus in the future. His thoughts were too sensitive and prone to psychological issues.

Magnus ate in silence.

After a long time, he finally stopped and looked up at Nora, "Mommy."

Nora smiled gently, "What's wrong?"

Magnus said in a low voice, "I miss Uncle Mortimer. I want to live with Uncle Mortimer. Can you contact Uncle Mortimer and ask him to come and stay with me?"
