Chapter 549 She Seems to Have Guessed Something
Nora's face turned pale, and she suddenly felt extremely uneasy.
'What do Amara's words mean?'
'What does Amara mean by saying my son is about to die?'
'Didn't Rhys say he could develop a drug to treat Magnus?'
'Why do they need Amara's child's umbilical cord blood?'
She asked, her voice trembling, "What do you mean by all this?"
"My son is sick, but Rhys said he could save him, he just needed time to develop the drug. He never mentioned anything about needing umbilical cord blood!"
Amara wiped the tears from her face and continued sarcastically, "I overheard their conversation myself, there's no mistake. They chose to hide it from you so you wouldn't worry."
"Think about it carefully, didn't they tell you the time to develop the special drug is very close to my due date?"
"Rhys can develop the special drug, but he needs the umbilical cord blood. He has to wait until I give birth to make the drug!"
Nora's heart jolted, and her face turned even paler.
She didn't know when Amara's due date was, but judging by the size of her belly, she could guess it was around that time.
Thinking carefully, the time Rhys promised was indeed very close to Amara's due date.
Could it be that everything Amara said was true?
No, that was impossible!
If what Amara said was true, wouldn't that mean Magnus was beyond saving?
Seeing Nora's panicked and uneasy expression, Amara felt a surge of satisfaction.
She was living in discomfort, and she wanted Nora to suffer too!
"Haha, Nora, you killed my child, ruined my marriage, you won't have it easy either!"
"Your child will soon die too, and you will live in guilt for the rest of your life!"
"You destroyed my happiness, you won't be happy either, I want you to suffer for the rest of your life!"
Nora's breathing became rapid, her body trembled uncontrollably, and she shook her head in denial, "No, you're lying to me, this isn't true, Magnus won't die, Rhys said he could cure him."
Amara said, "Stop deceiving yourself. My child was his last hope, but now that hope is gone, he's beyond saving. You destroyed his only chance of survival with your own hands, you killed your own son!"
"You know what I'm saying is true, the lies Rhys and Isaac told you have no basis. Think about it, and you'll realize who is telling the truth, you just don't want to admit it!"
"But it doesn't matter, even if you avoid it, you can't avoid it for long. Your son only has a few months left to live!"
"No! It's all lies, all lies!" Nora covered her ears, unwilling to continue listening to Amara's curse-like voice.
Magnus must still be savable.
Amara was saying this to provoke her, she couldn't believe it.
But images of Magnus constantly having nosebleeds and his worsening condition kept flashing in her mind.
And when Magnus first got sick, Rhys initially said he wasn't sure, but soon after, Isaac said Rhys had found a way to cure Magnus, but it would take a few months to develop the drug.
It was from that time that Isaac started distancing himself from her, acting strangely. Not long after, she found evidence of his affair.
All these events linked together proved that what Amara said was true.
Tears uncontrollably fell from her eyes, her heart felt like it was being tightly gripped by a large hand, making it hard to breathe.
Even though she covered her ears, Amara's voice still kept coming through.
"Nora, you're so useless, you can't even protect your own children. One of your children is deaf and mute, another is seriously ill, and you cut off his only chance of survival. They are truly unfortunate to be your children!"
"If I had Isaac's child, I would definitely protect him, not let him get hurt."
"You are not fit to be a mother!"
Nora cried uncontrollably.
Yes, she was not a competent mother.
She left her children when they were so young, not being there to take care of them.
Now that they were with her, she still couldn't protect them, letting them get hurt so much.
Amara continued, "By the way, do you know how I got pregnant with Isaac's child?"
"I never had sex with Isaac, someone stole his sperm and did artificial insemination for me."
"Otherwise, how could a single accident so conveniently result in pregnancy?"
"Do you know who stole the sperm for me?"
"You know that person, and you're very familiar with him."
Nora's whole body shook, her hands slid off her ears, and she looked at Amara in disbelief.
Amara curled her lips into a malicious smile, "That person is..."
Before Amara could finish her sentence, someone suddenly struck her on the side of her neck, and she fell silent, fainting to the ground.
"Nora, are you okay? Did she hurt you?" He quickly walked up to Nora, asking anxiously.
Nora looked up blankly at the suddenly appearing Mortimer.
Mortimer, seeing she could barely stand, reached out to support her shoulders, asking worriedly, "What's wrong? Did Amara do something to you? Or say something to you?"
Nora's eyes darkened.
Mortimer said, "She had a miscarriage, and Isaac broke off the engagement with her. Now her mental state is very unstable, she's talking nonsense. Whatever she said, don't believe it, don't take it to heart, don't let a madwoman affect your mood."
"She got hurt herself, and she wants everyone to suffer with her.Don't fall for her tricks."
Nora still didn't speak.
But looking at Mortimer, who was as gentle as ever, she suddenly found him very frightening.
The suspicion in her heart made her feel cold all over, her body trembling uncontrollably.
"Nora, don't scare me, say something, please?" Mortimer's whole body was tense, his eyes filled with panic.
He didn't know what Amara had said to Nora.
When he came over, he only vaguely heard "stole sperm."
He panicked instantly, thinking Amara was about to reveal their collaboration, so he quickly ran over and knocked Amara out.
He managed to knock her out before she could say his name.
But he didn't know what Amara had said to Nora before that.
Nora raised her hand, pried Mortimer's hand off her shoulder bit by bit, then staggered back a few steps, squatted down, and hugged herself tightly, tears silently falling.
She seemed to have guessed something.
Certain things in her mind started to connect.
