Chapter 165 The Terrible Truth

Isaac said coldly, "I don't need anyone's approval to be with someone."

He glanced at Kalista's belly, eyes icy. "I'll get a doctor tonight. Tomorrow morning, we're doing a DNA test on that baby."

Kalista's face went pale with panic.

Why did Isaac want a DNA test now? Did he know the baby wasn't his? He couldn't possibly know!

Too scared to say anything, Kalista watched Isaac walk past her, eager to see Nora.

After he left, it took Kalista a moment to snap out of it. She quickly found a hiding spot, pulled out her phone, and called Mortimer.

"Mortimer, Isaac plans to propose to Nora tonight. You can't just sit by and do nothing; you have to stop them," she said.

Mortimer's eyes darkened as he listened. Isaac wasted no time. He just got back today and already wanted to propose.

Mortimer hung up without a word.

Kalista was furious. "Mortimer didn't say a thing! What does that mean? Is he going to do something or not? Isn't he afraid of losing Nora?"

Isaac drove to the hotel entrance, got out of the car, smiling, and headed inside.

"Isaac."

A gentle voice called from behind. Isaac's face darkened as he turned around.

Mortimer walked up with a faint smile and stopped in front of him.

"Isaac, are you planning to propose to Nora tonight?" Mortimer asked softly.

Isaac sneered, "Since you know, stay away from Nora. She and I have reconciled, and we're getting remarried soon!"

Mortimer chuckled, "Don't rush. I have something to show you."

Isaac replied impatiently, "I'm not interested. Stay away from me!"

"You will be." Mortimer smiled warmly.

Ignoring Isaac's disinterest, he pulled out his phone. After a few taps, he showed the screen to Isaac.

Isaac glanced down, annoyed. But when he saw the video, his face changed drastically!

The video showed his grandfather Edmund and Kalista in an unspeakable act!

Isaac's mind went blank, eyes wide with shock. How could Edmund do this with Kalista?

Suddenly, he thought of something. Was Kalista's baby Edmund's?

Isaac felt a chill. If this got out, Edmund's reputation would be ruined, and the Porter Family would be a laughingstock. Kalista might go ballistic if word of it got out!

Mortimer smiled gently. "If you don't want this video exposed and your grandfather's reputation ruined, stay away from Nora and stop bothering her. Otherwise, I'll expose this video and let everyone see how powerful Edmund is, to still be able to get his grandson's romantic partner pregnant at nearly eighty."

Isaac was enraged. "Bastard!"

He roared and punched Mortimer in the face. Mortimer staggered back, blood seeping out from the corner of his mouth.

Isaac didn't let up, pinning him to the ground and punching him several more times.

Mortimer, however, didn't get angry; he smiled instead. The angrier Isaac got, the louder Mortimer laughed.

"Mortimer, you're despicable. My grandfather is so old, and you still schemed against him. Do you have any conscience left?"

Isaac glared at Mortimer, veins bulging on his forehead, looking terrifying and fierce. His gaze was murderous.

He was sure Edmund had been set up! Even though Edmund was moving in the video, his eyes were closed the whole time, looking clearly drugged. Edmund might not even know what he had done.

Isaac had underestimated Mortimer's shamelessness. He never imagined Mortimer would target Edmund!

Mortimer said in a deep voice, "Isaac, you can't blame me. You pushed me to this. You brought out the darkest side of me. You have no right to blame me."

Isaac, furious, punched Mortimer again.

Mortimer kept smiling, not fighting back. He knew Isaac was just venting his powerless rage.

"Go ahead, hit me. But after you're done, do as I say, or this video will be spread tonight, even if you kill me," Mortimer said calmly. "Oh, and I made sure that if I don't give the command, this video will be sent to your grandmother first."

Katie's health was already poor. If she saw this video, she might not survive the shock.

Isaac clenched his fists, radiating a murderous aura. But in the end, he had to let Mortimer go.

Mortimer smiled, even with his bruised and swollen face, he still looked calm and elegant. He knew he had won.

"Mortimer, you will die a horrible death!" Isaac growled through gritted teeth.

Mortimer chuckled, not caring. Even if he would die horribly in the future, he would still fight for his desires now. He would get what he wanted, no matter the cost!

At seven in the evening, Nora put on new clothes, did her makeup beautifully, and arrived at the hotel Isaac had reserved. She followed the directions to the private room, knocked gently on the door, and then pushed it open.

As the door opened, the scene inside the room came into view, and Nora's eyes widened in surprise. Her heart began to race, and her face turned red. The room was filled with roses, pink balloons, fairy lights, and candles, creating a very romantic atmosphere.

Isaac's friends were also inside, holding glow signs with words like "love" on them. Isaac, dressed in a suit, held a large bouquet of red roses. His handsome face looked even more charming in the dim light.

Nora's heart beat faster and faster, feeling like it was about to jump out of her chest. What was Isaac doing? Confessing to her or proposing?

Nora bit her lip lightly, feeling instantly nervous. Her face turned red, and she stood there, both shy and anxious. There was a distance of about ten meters between Nora and Isaac. In between was a path made of rose petals, like a road leading to happiness.

They looked at each other from across the path. Because the light was too dim, Nora couldn't see Isaac's eyes clearly, but she could feel that he was looking at her. Nora felt shy but continued to stare at him.

After a while, Isaac finally took a step and walked towards her. His tall and slender figure, exuding an air of nobility, made him look like a god descending, radiating an irresistible charm. Wherever he was, it was impossible to take one's eyes off him.

Nora watched him approach with infatuated eyes. As the distance between them closed, her heart beat faster and faster. Soon, Isaac stopped three steps away from her.

Isaac looked deeply into Nora's eyes, then knelt on one knee and handed her the bouquet of roses. His deep, magnetic voice slowly flowed out, "Will you marry me?"

Nora's nose tingled, and tears welled up in her eyes. "I..."

Just as Nora started to speak, an excited female voice from behind drowned out her words, "I will!"
