Chapter 110 Exposing Darcy

Winnie opened the bathroom door and walked out.

Eva's shrill voice was unmistakable.

Just as she was about to ask, Luke was already in conversation with Mr. L.

"Miss Eva is causing trouble. Mr. Taylor, the person involved in the attack on Mrs. L's at the banquet, has already been..." Luke made a gesture, not seeing Winnie.

As he rubbed his neck, Winne observed the calm and steel faced man, feeling her heart racing. Over the course of their relationship, she’d noticed his ruthlessness.

This man harbored darkness in his heart, and Mr. Taylor may have lost his life because of it.

"Miss. Martin planned this and instructed Mr. Taylor to abduct Mrs. L. You completely blacklisted her from the entertainment industry. Her father was also demoted in the Martin family. She and her mother are here to plead, but Mr. Martin won't see her..."

“Remove them.” Mr. L’s chilling words.

Winnie listened, slightly stunned. Had he discovered Eva’s role in framing her that night? She felt a bit unusual about this. She didn't expect...

During their days apart, his indifference was a facade. He was investigating the banquet incident and seeking justice for her, punishing Eva.

But is Eva really the mastermind behind it all?

Meanwhile, Darcy took Madam Rodriguez to Hospital for an exam and Jeremy had no reason to deny her entry anymore.

During the neurological examination, Darcy learned of Eva’s disturbance outside Mr. L's hospital room.

She narrowed her eyes slightly. She didn't order Eva to do anything, so the matter had nothing to do with her. She wasn't worried.

However, with Eva's arrival, Darcy couldn't forget the cold, piercing gaze Winnie had given her at the banquet that night. Winnie must be suspecting her!

Now that Mr. L had discovered Eva, Winnie certainly wouldn't agree. What would she tell Mr. L?

Darcy smirked. That's why she unable to enter the hospital last night and immediately went to the villa to "take care of" Madam Rodriguez.

Her "nightlong care" must have been passed on to Mr. L's ears by the servants.

Darcy smiled, anticipating each move on the chessboard, waiting for Winnie to open Mr. L's eyes.

The doctor was conducting a brain examination on Madam Rodriguez and was surprised by her recovery. “Did someone perform Dry Needling on her during the seizure?" he enquired

Darcy lowered her head to look at the elderly person who still seemed confused. She smiled. "It was me. I took care of Madam Rodriguez all night."

The neurologist praised, "Miss Ordelia, you have been attentive. Madam Rodriguez, do you remember the seizure yesterday?"

Madam Rodriguez looked at the doctor struggling to recall.

Darcy smirked. She had needled the old lady's skull last night, disrupting her memory. How could she still remember her phone call?

Madam Rodriguez shook her head in confusion, "I don't know what happened. I suddenly had a seizure."

The family doctor also chimed in, "Madam Rodriguez has multiple health issues, so it's probably due to complications. I took a day off yesterday."

The neurologist nodded and took the medical records. "I will provide Mr. L with a detailed report on Madam Rodriguez's condition later."

Darcy released the wheelchair and smiled, "I'll accompany you. It just so happens that I also want to visit Mr. L."

Inside the hospital room, Winnie sat next to the bed.

Eva's screams faded away as she was dragged away by someone.

Winnie raised her gaze to Mr. L, "L, do you truly believe that Eva was jealous of me that night? Is that why she had Mr. Taylor kidnap me and then let you witness me being humiliated?"

"Do you suspect there might be other instigators?" L queried, meeting her eyes.

She hesitated for a moment, collecting her thoughts.

Though he had caused her a lot of trouble, she couldn’t ignore the hurtful words he’d uttered in defense of Darcy during the banquet. That was the issue she couldn’t let go of. She wanted to confront him about who Darcy really was.

"Yes, I suspect Eva might have been manipulated as well," Winnie said, looking directly at him with a slight smirk. "L, have you noticed that we've been arguing more lately? It's ever since Miss. Ordelia appeared in our lives."

Mr. L’s frustration deepened as he looked at her helplessly. "Are you still fixated on her? I know what you’re about to say

Winnie took his hand and tenderly brushed her fingers against his palm, trying to soften his emotions. Yet, her eyes remained frosty. "Just hear me out."

"You said she was friendly and helpful, looking out for us. Then why do we keep arguing?" she asked.

"Consider the supplier incident,” she continued. “You asked her to recommend someone, but she concealed the fact that it was you who wanted to help me. Was it unintentional or intentional? Maybe she noticed that I'm onto her and used it to drive a wedge between us. And think about it, o the day if my meeting with Mr. Harrington at the Golden Club, why were you attending a meeting at the Urban Planning Bureau? The Golden Club isn't even close to there. I know she probably said it was just a casual suggestion..."

Mr. L's initial impatience turned to a narrowed gaze, his expression growing colder.

The Urban Planning Bureau was indeed far from the Golden Club, and he didn't pay attention to her Facebook that day.

Winnie tried to gauge expression his reaction and smirked. "On the day of the banquet, did she come to see me alone? Did she say anything?"

"She bragged,” Mr. L confessed. “Claimed she cared for you throughout the night when you were drunk, and during your collaborations. She tried to provoke me then, making me lose control in front of you.”

“She probably complained to you afterward, saying that I was still angry and ignoring her, and asked you to come and comfort me." Winnie stated.

A glint of realization sparked in Mr. L's eye as he looked at her coldly. "How did you figure this out?"

Winnie chuckled softly. "Isn't that how she always tries to persuade you when we argue? The strategy of yielding ground to gain advantage. I may not use it, but I'm familiar with it."

Ava often used it, but it was quite low-level. Darcy, on the other hand. Left no trace of her manipulations.

Winnie's gaze turned icy. "The night in the private room, it was strange how Eva suddenly appeared. I never knew she held a grudge against me, due to not finding me earlier. Who was it that brought us together? This gives me reason to believe Eva was also manipulated that night at the banquet, causing her to plot against me. You should investigate, Eva and M..."

"But if we had a private conversation with Ordelia, we would know," L's tone turned cold, his gaze darkening.

Indeed, he had hastily married Winnie and kept it a secret, leaving no chance for Eva to find Winnie before.

However, recently Eva had been frequently appearing in places where Winnie was present...

Suddenly, a quite sob came from outside the door.

Both of them looked up and saw a doctor standing awkwardly at the doorway, holding a medical record. "Mr. L, Miss Ordelia brought your mother to the hospital today for a brain examination..."

Standing behind them, Darcy's eyes were slightly red, showing signs of grievances.

She took a few steps forward, she glanced at Winnie with a disappointed smile, and said, "I never expected Mrs. L to have such thoughts about me. Perhaps I was overenthusiastic leading to misunderstanding. Mr. L, it's alright. Listen to Mrs. L and treat me as the bad person. As long as you and she reconcile, I can bear this slight grievance."

"Grievance?" Winnie stood up, incredulous, sneering. "Miss Ordelia, you came at the perfect time. Explain why you took your Mr. L to a restaurant like Golden Club for a meal. Why didn't you explain clearly that it was Mr. L who asked you to recommend a female supplier to me?"
