Chapter 605 Her Wedding (Part 3)

"Hold your tongue!" Glimmeron came over and chided in a low voice.

The commotion on their side made many relatives of the Harrington family hear the gossip, and they all looked at Winnie with disdain.

"So she's cunning. I knew Sierra. She is such a good debutante while pursuing Mr. Harrington. How did she fail?" one person said.

"This woman is quite something. You guys don't know about her past with Lawrence in Lymington, do you?" Another person added.

"What? Really?" Someone questioned.

Winnie paid little attention to their sarcasm and Mrs. Rodriguez's indifference, maintaining her composure as Rock had long been immune. She was aware of the effect a fake engagement ceremony had on Mrs. Rodriguez in the past. Winnie did not hold herself in high regard, considering it normal. However, Olivia was not as composed as she was.

Olivia was furious. If she had known the Harrington family's attitude towards Winnie, she should have advised Winnie again and observed Rock.

But Winnie didn't know what was going on; she insisted on marrying Rock.

She stood up abruptly, speaking sarcastically.

It's difficult to determine who is deserving of whom. Mrs. Rodriguez, I empathize with your worries about your son. Can you also comprehend my worries for my best friend?"

"Let me introduce you all: my best friend, Winnie, is the eldest daughter of the Blanchet family, the third wealthiest family in the country!

"At the age of twenty, she established Eternity Jewelry Co., Ltd from the ground up, and now the company is flourishing in Trento City. In essence, Winnie, a noble daughter of the Blanchet family, is worth billions. With her stature, can you all now determine if she is a suitable match for the esteemed Lymington family, Mr. Harrington?"

"Sierra, right? Which nouveau riche family in Lymington are you from? Don't you think Winnie is marrying beneath her?"

Sierra's face turned sour, burning with jealousy as she looked at Winnie.

She never expected a divorced woman like Winnie to have such a profound background.

The third wealthiest family in the country, the Blanchet family, was well-known among debutantes.

The expressions of the crowd subtly changed once again as they looked at Winnie, adding a touch of difference to their gazes.

The snobbish women who had been sarcastic had long disappeared.

Elliott, who was seated in a wheelchair, spoke up at the opportune moment. "Rock is great, and I really like him. But I won't underestimate myself. Our Winnie is also a woman with her own career and a strong family background. They make a good pair, don't they?

Glimmeron is well aware of Winnie's family background. Carlos isn't dead yet, and he might wake up one day. Trento City is a place that the wealthy people of Lymington can only dream of.

Glimmeron said, "Mr. Granger makes a good point."

Mrs. Harrington pursed her lips unhappily.

Approaching with a furrowed brow, one arm around Winnie's waist, Rock's expression softened. He addressed his parents, saying, "Father, mother, Elliott is correct. Winnie agreeing to marry me is a stroke of luck. The worth of a marriage isn't determined by social status! Winnie's wealth and position far exceed mine; she is the pride of Trento City. I am overjoyed that after quietly watching over her for many years, she has finally turned to me, and with a single glance, placed her trust in me with her life."

Rock added, The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. Please find your seats and witness our beautiful wedding."

"Winnie, I'll be waiting here for you. Let your uncle escort you over." Rock said and repeatedly squeezed her hand.

Winnie's expression softened, a slight smile gracing her face as Olivia led her to the door, where she entered alongside her uncle.

The wedding march began to play.

She and Rock stepped onto the stage, exchanging solemn vows, and swapping rings, and Rock, peering through her veil, tenderly kissed her lips.

The ceremony concluded amidst cheers.

Winnie took a deep breath. Everything had settled. She glanced at the time; it was now eleven fifty-three.

Sidney didn't take part in his mom's wedding; he didn't want to see it, and he couldn't bear to watch his dad either!

Lost in his thoughts, he suddenly remembered his phone watch was left in the bride's room.

Sidney ran back to retrieve it.

After putting on the watch and turning it on, he noticed an unread message.

The sender's number was unfamiliar.

Sidney stopped, furrowing his brow as he opened and read the message.

The unknown person: [Sidney, has daddy arrived?

I know what you're thinking. My heart is always with you.]

Sidney froze, repeatedly reading the message, focusing on the words 'Sidney' and 'daddy.'

His heart raced rapidly.

'This person... could it be Oscar?'

'Is it Oscar?'

Sidney's thoughts came to an abrupt halt, and upon grasping the potential possibilities, he was nearly driven to madness!

Sidney dashed out of the bride's room with his short legs.

The wind swept up his beautiful black hair as he ran. As he heard his own quick breath in the wind, he made an effort to compose himself and think rationally.

Why would Oscar suddenly contact him? Did it mean he had escaped from Ishara?

But Mommy had just told him she had to marry Rock to save Oscar.

Was it Ishara's secret threat to mommy?

Sidney thought, ‘If Oscar is already free and Mommy doesn't know, then marrying Rock would be a mistake.'

'By now, had Mommy and Rock's ceremony already concluded?'

Sidney ran, sweating profusely, cursing himself for not discovering Oscar's message earlier.

He eventually made his way to the wedding banquet hall, where Mommy, accompanied by Miss Smith, had donned her toasting gown. She approached Rock with a joyful expression, prepared to begin toasting the relatives of the Harrington family.

"Mommy!" Sidney called.

The banquet hall was spacious, filled with lively chatter that drowned out Sidney's cry. Despite his small stature, he struggled to make his way through the throng, calling out, "Mommy, please listen, Oscar is..." However, at that moment, Winnie was engrossed in the center of the guests, raising a toast, and didn't hear him.

Rock, in a white suit, stood elegantly by her side, while Winnie, in a pink wedding dress, simple yet accentuating her graceful figure, her exquisite oval face radiated unparalleled beauty, undoubtedly the most dazzling presence of the day.

Rock's hand rested on her waist, thinking of the sweet night ahead, his eyes shining.

"Drink a little less, Winnie. Just take a small sip." Rock didn't want Winnie to drink too much, gently advising her in public.

"Oh, look at the groom doting on the bride! How can she drink any less? She should at least have a glass, or else the groom will have to drink three for her!" teased and laughed the younger relatives of the Harrington family. Rock, in high spirits from the festive atmosphere, lifted his glass, protecting Winnie as he tightly held her hand.

"Mark, don't embarrass your sister-in-law. I'll drink these three cups; please spare me, everyone," Rock said.

Winnie also had to speak up: "Please show mercy, everyone.; Rock and I are going on our honeymoon tomorrow."

Rock, take a look at how fiercely your bride is defending you. Your decision to marry her was not in vain. You two are so in love!" Mark exclaimed with a chuckle.

The banquet was lively.

Rock looked tenderly at Winnie and said, "Darling, don't worry about me. I can hold my liquor well."

With all eyes on them, Winnie blushed slightly at the address, still not quite used to it.

The journalists captured this moment, broadcasting it online in real-time and sharing the grand wedding in Lymington.

"Winnie, it seems like Sidney is calling you..." Olivia walked over.

But before she could finish her sentence, a loud rumble suddenly pierced through the room, clearly audible to the guests' ears.

Someone frowned and exclaimed, "What's going on? Is there a helicopter on the roof?"

"Who is it, flying in by helicopter to attend the wedding?" Someone asked.

"Could it be some wealthy tycoon?" Another person guessed.

Winnie's expression suddenly changed. She was aware that Lawrence owned helicopters, and the Rodriguez family estate had plenty of them!

'It was only just past midnight, and he had already found his way here.'

'In the end, he had come.' Winnie thought.
