Chapter 95 Hubby is Super Rich
He turned off the main light in the room, and in the silence, the man's scorching body temperature enveloped her completely. Winnie quickly sensed something unusual, blushing, she caught a glimpse of his taut waist under the blanket, but he didn't make any further moves.
He only looked at her with an indulgent smile knowing that she had eaten too much and was feeling dizzy. He gently tapped her forehead and said, "Go to sleep."
She had a pleasant fragrance, and being able to sleep beside her that night allowed him to finally have a good rest. The soothing effect Winnie had on putting him to sleep reminded him of Lili, the girl he had rescued years ago. There was a similar enchanting atmosphere about this night.
Just as he was on the verge of falling asleep, his phone lit up. Despite having switched it to silent mode earlier, he glanced at the screen and saw that Darcy was calling him again.
Mr. L slightly sat up. Winnie groaned uncomfortably as she rolled over to the side and continued sleeping. He tucked her under the blanket then walked to the balcony, closing the door as he answered the call.
"What's the matter?" he said whilst lighting his cigarette. Darcy wouldn't call unless it was work-related. On the other end, Darcy felt a mix of relief and a tinge of bitterness upon hearing his low and cold voice. She intentionally called at this time to interrupt them in case they were being intimate in bed. However, the man's voice didn't reveal any information of that sort. It seemed he hadn't made any further advances on Winnie.
Darcy felt her eyebrows relaxing and spoke in a serious tone, "Mr. L, I apologize for disturbing you at this late hour but I wanted to report something to you. It's about Ms. Winnie. She declined the two female suppliers you recommended for her. Maybe she doesn't want your help or she's still looking for other suppliers."
He froze in place. He furrowed his brows and exhaled smoke from his cigarette, his good-looking face appeared especially serious under the night sky. He didn't say anything and just responded, "I know."
Darcy could hear the coldness in his tone, filled with displeasure. "Would you like me to find out which supplier she has contacted?"
"Mhm." Mr. L hung up the phone.
Extinguishing the cigarette, he returned to the room. The remarkably tall man moved toward the bed, where the woman lay peacefully, her face adorned with a rosy and tender complexion, emanating a soft and pure beauty.
He frowned, perplexed. His intention was simply to assist her, yet he couldn't comprehend why she would reject his help. She hadn't even mentioned this issue during their car ride today. Imperial and Triton had a history of discord, and now he had willingly lowered his status to offer assistance to her.
It seemed that she didn't trust him, and perhaps she was afraid her small company would be harmed. Lowering his head, he pinched her small cheek, continuing to shower her with tenderness. Perhaps he should work on letting her get to know him better, aiming to eliminate her wariness of him.
Early the next morning, Winnie has woken up and was preparing to go to work. On the other hand, Mr. L who was wearing a neatly tied tie has emerged from the changing room. His handsome face adorned with a serious expression in the morning light.
"Come to my company after work," he said to Winnie.
"Ah, are you willing to let me know more about your company?" Winnie was surprised.
"I have multiple industries under my control so I don't mind if you know a little of what I'm doing."
He threw her a business card. Winnie glanced down and noticed the name "Kingdom Estate" on it. The card provided details about the company's location, each word and sentence meticulously presented.
Kingdom Estate was the largest real estate company in the country. Almost all the high-end villas in Lymington were built by this company.
Winnie was shocked by this realization as it hit her that her husband was this wealthy to be associated with Kingdom Estate.
Winnie quickly calculated that Triton has a market value of 20 billion but she couldn't even begin to estimate the market value of Kingdom Estate.
With a tumultuous heart, Winnie arrived at the company and immediately called Olivia, relaying the news to her. Olivia was momentarily stunned and remarked, "Kingdom Estate is one of the most mysterious companies in Lymington aside from Imperial Jewelry and of course, there's Island Electronics, a tech industry giant. I never imagined that Kingdom Estate would be owned by your husband."
"What should I do Olivia? Suddenly, I find him so attractive because he's so rich. I think I'm falling in love with him."
The corner of Olivia's mouth twitched and said, "Winnie, you sound quite vain with your obsession for money."
"People love money too, you know. He even treated me to hot dogs yesterday. I didn't know he was so wealthy in the beginning. Didn't you call him a loser before?"
"How much money would it take for you not to sue Mr. L?" Olivia asked.
Winnie chuckled. "All right, let's hang up. I have an important partnership to discuss today." She quickly gathered her thoughts and immediately contacted her university classmate, Edwin Carter, the man who handed her his business card at the bar.
Edwin had returned from overseas and established a company specializing in raw gemstones. Triton was currently in desperate need of a supply and had to recover a substantial quantity of fake jewelry, so Winnie naturally thought of him.
She placed the call, and Edwin promptly answered. However contrary to their agreement from the previous day, Edwin stated, "Winnie, I'm just a company director, a small fry. When our chairman learned that I secured a significant order from Triton, he insisted on personally overseeing it. Therefore, he will attend the lunch as well."
Winnie's mind went blank for a moment, and she quickly composed herself. "If the chairman is coming then let's change the restaurant or should we still go to Golden Club?"
"No need, our chairman is low-key. We can just stick to the current lunch spot." Edwin laughed.
Winnie politely ended the call. Edwin turned around and respectfully looked at the tall man who was standing by his desk, a smile adorned on the chairman's face.
Winnie arrived early at the Golden Club and only waited for a few minutes before a person arrived outside the luxurious window-side private room.
Edwin walked in and Winnie immediately stood up and as she was about to greet him, she saw the refined and elegant man who was standing behind Edwin. She froze in place.
Rock was dressed in a sophisticated dark gray suit that perfectly accentuated his figure. His tall stature and remarkable charm made him unique. His handsome face wore a slight smile and his eyes unexpectedly narrowed as he said, "Ms. Winnie?"
"Mr. Rock..." Winnie was surprised, unable to finish her sentence. Edwin glanced at Mr. Rock and asked knowingly, "Winnie, do you know our chairman?" Not wanting to appear too boastful, Winnie met Rock's deep gaze, and Rock replied, "I have met Ms. Winnie once due to my mother's situation."
His warm and pleasant voice carried a hint of pleasure and approachability. Winnie quickly smiled and extended her hand, saying, "Mr. Rock, I didn't expect you to be Edwin's boss."
Rock shook her hand in return, maintaining a composed and polite demeanor. She pulled her hand back and said, "Mr. Rock, Edwin, please have a seat."
After they were seated, Winnie took out the contract and discussed the details of the raw stone supply co-operation. Sitting across from her, Rock leaned back and supported his chin with one hand, his dark eyes glancing at her several times.
Such a prominent figure appeared somewhat profound, and Winnie felt a bit uneasy about pricing the goods too low. Unexpectedly, he waved his hand and looked at her, saying, "Triton is a good company, and I like your designs. This price is acceptable to me. Edwin, give her as many raw stones as she needs."
Winnie widened her eyes in surprise as she was not expecting the procurement meeting to go so smoothly.
Edwin upon noticing the situation, stood up and tidied the documents, saying, "Since this is settled, I will immediately return to the company and finalize the contract. Winnie, would you accompany Mr. Rock to finish this meal?"
Winnie nodded in relief, just realizing that she needed to discuss the design of the jewelry set for Mrs. Harrington. "Mr. Rock, actually I also needed to talk to you lately regarding the design of the jewelry made for your mother, Mrs. Harrington."
"Ms. Winnie, have you found inspiration for the jewelry you designed for my mother?" Both spoke at the same time causing Winnie to pause followed by Rock's laughter.
