Chapter 797 Catching an Adulterer
"Why not invest the principal? NexaCore Group can easily give them the secondary technology," Lawrence smirked coldly. "Then, Jeremy, have another company under Adam's name sign with me and give me the top-notch technology. The Rodriguez Group will start production immediately and launch ahead of time. This way, NexaCore Group won't breach the contract, and the Rodriguez Group can catch the Peterson Group off guard!"
Jeremy finally understood Lawrence's plan.
He suddenly realized and couldn't help but marvel; he wasn't cut out for business.
Lawrence's business tactics could ruin someone without leaving a trace.
He slapped the table, "Lawrence, you never cease to amaze me! When the Peterson Family finds out it's not top-tier technology, they can't accuse NexaCore Group of fraud. I'll have Adam contact Mars and Rock to sign the contracts right away. Those two will probably be thrilled."
"Let them enjoy their moment," Lawrence said calmly. He had seen all kinds of tactics in the business world and knew how to bide his time.
Jeremy stroked his chin and grinned slyly, full of energy.
However, he frowned and looked at Lawrence, "I found out about your recent situation on my way back."
Jeremy said, a hint of guilt flashing across his face, "Lawrence, it must have been tough for you this past month. I heard that after Rock followed Ronnie to power, the Harrington Group quickly became the leading enterprise in Trento City. That bastard Rock has been suppressing you everywhere and even had people beat you up in prison."
Lawrence's cold eyes darkened, and he gripped the edge of his cup tightly.
"Ray told me. I contacted him earlier, guessing that after you got into trouble, he would definitely come to Trento City to help you. He said that recently, because Rock hit Winnie, you wanted to retaliate against Rock. Lawrence, I advise you not to, especially now that you have this plan."
Lawrence's fist paused. Indeed, before he came to see the chairman of NexaCore Group, he didn't know Jeremy would be here.
Now that Jeremy was back and NexaCore Group was Adam's company, he had this opportunity.
If he released the information Bryan had prepared now, Rock's hypocritical mask would be torn off by him.
But it would also raise Rock's vigilance.
Since he wanted to catch them all in one go, now was not the time to act against Rock.
Avenging Winnie was a matter of time; he had to wait.
"I understand," Lawrence swallowed his anger and said, "Jeremy, don't show yourself for now. The cooperation must remain secret."
Jeremy relaxed a bit and nodded, "Lawrence, you're a far-sighted person. I know we need to keep a low profile now."
"Yes, now is not the time to expose ourselves. I'll continue to pretend to be down and out, let Mars and the others suppress me as they please. That will make them happy."
"In critical moments, one must learn to endure, so that when the time comes, they can strike the hardest," Lawrence said with a deep, cold expression. "I want a fatal blow, to knock the Peterson Family off their top spot, and finally, to get back at Rock."
"Lawrence, NexaCore Group is on your side. We're not done with them yet."
Jeremy walked back from the floor-to-ceiling window, slightly relaxed, and smiled at him, "I came back from the dead. Let's find Ray. The three of us won't stop until we're drunk tonight. With us by your side, what do you have to fear?"
Lawrence said nothing, placing a heavy hand on Jeremy's shoulder. He smiled and nodded.
Rock returned to the company in a bad mood, still pondering whether Lawrence had secured the cooperation with Adam.
At this moment, his newly appointed female secretary walked into the CEO's office with a cup of coffee, swaying her hips.
"Mr. Harrington, your coffee."
"Put it down."
"Mr. Harrington," the female secretary put down the coffee but didn't leave.
From her first day on the job, Rock had slept with her.
The female secretary hadn't expected that the seemingly gentle and elegant Rock was this kind of person behind the scenes. He was even married, and his wife was said to be the eldest daughter of the Blanchet Family.
Rock was a bad but charming man. If he weren't a freak in bed, he'd be perfect.
The female secretary had also heard that Rock had many lovers, one of whom was even pregnant and had to come over from time to time to relieve his needs.
The more she thought about it, the more exciting it became. She seductively moved behind the desk, "Mr. Harrington, since we're not working, how about we study me? I miss you."
She said coquettishly, sitting on Rock's lap.
Since Sierra's death, Rock had been extra cautious. He swallowed hard and pushed her away, "Mind your position."
"Mr. Harrington, I locked the door. Don't you want to? I can see you do..." The female secretary giggled, looking at his crotch.
Rock was in a bad mood and needed to vent. His eyes darkened, and he pressed the female secretary onto the desk.
The female secretary moaned softly.
Just as things were heating up, the assistant's amplified voice came from the door, "Mrs. Harrington, what brings you here? Mr. Harrington is busy."
As he spoke, someone tried to turn the office door handle, but it was locked.
"Why did Rock lock the door?" Winnie said curiously.
Rock's body stiffened, and he quickly pushed the female secretary away, frantically tidying his suit. He glared at the female secretary, "Hide under the bed in the inner room!"
In broad daylight, he had locked the office door. If Winnie came in and saw him with a female secretary, she would definitely be suspicious. He couldn't let her find out anything now.
After the female secretary hid, Rock strode over to open the door.
He held the door with a gentlemanly smile, "Winnie, what brings you here?"
Winnie walked in with a smile, dressed in a suit, holding some documents and two desserts. She said, "I just finished a meeting and happened to pass by, so I came to see you. But Rock, why did you lock the door? You don't have a woman hidden in here, do you?"
Rock said helplessly, spreading his hands with a bitter smile, "I wish I had a woman, but she keeps me waiting. I locked the door because I was taking a nap and didn't want to be disturbed. You brought desserts. Are you here to have afternoon tea with me?"
Rock quickly changed the subject.
"You could say that," Winnie smiled cooperatively, putting down the desserts and opening them. But then she turned her head and said to the eager-eyed Rock, "I need to use the restroom first. Be right back!"
"Winnie," the restroom was in the lounge, where the female secretary was hiding under the bed.
Rock hesitated, but before he could say more, Winnie quickly walked in, not giving him a chance to speak.
He had no choice but to follow her, pretending to chat, "Do you need me to get you some sanitary pads?"
"No, I think I ate something bad," Winnie said, embarrassed.
She hadn't expected Rock to follow her so closely, so she didn't dare to look around. She went straight into the restroom.
As the door closed, Winnie's eyes turned cold. When she entered the office, she had clearly smelled a woman's perfume.
