Chapter 314 You don't need to take responsibility

"You shameless person!" Winnie's eyes turned red with anger. How could he shame her with a physical reaction after sleeping with her?

He's more than just a jerk, he's downright despicable.

Perhaps realizing that he went a bit too far, Lawrence R frowned and held her hand, enclosing it in his palm.

With an unpleasant expression, he explained, "What I meant was, we are both adults. Since both parties willingly participated, the police won't consider it as rape. You should know that."

"I didn't enjoy it, you're terrible in bed! I was just bitten by a dog, and for self-preservation, I had to let it happen. I'm even afraid of getting infected. I'm going to the hospital for a check-up later!"

When Winnie heard him mention 'adults', she guessed that this bastard didn't want to take responsibility.

Although she had expected it, she still felt hurt.

Of course, he's going to marry his beloved Darcy, and she's probably just a one-night stand to relieve his stress?

As Lawrence R listened to the woman's mocking words, his expression darkened as well.

She said he was terrible in bed? And she even mocked him for having a disease? What does she think of him!

Lawrence R immediately got up, feeling irritated. He sarcastically replied with a harsh tone, "If anyone needs to get checked, it should be me. Who knows how many men you have slept with?"

Winnie was stunned, then she burst into laughter. She had known three years ago how venomous he could be with his words.

With a cold smile, she ridiculed, "You despise me, yet you keep throwing me onto the bed, over and over again. Hypocritical is the perfect word to describe Mr. Rodriguez."

"..." Lawrence R's face turned angry. "You provoked me first, can't you speak nicely?"

Is she always this impatient with him? Except for her weak hums in bed last night that moved his heart, she always carries a thorn.

He thought that after last night, her attitude would soften a bit, but the reality is that he had overestimated himself.

"What do I have to say to you, you jerk? I'll just take it as being bitten by a dog. But I'll remember this debt, and now please get out!" Winnie said coldly.

Looking at the indifference in the woman's eyes, Lawrence R couldn't find the words to say, stifled in his throat. He wanted to resolve what happened last night. It was his fault, his use of force first. If she proposed any compensation, he would agree. But she looked so disgusted, as if she had been bitten by a dog, which suddenly made him feel unhappy. Was she really so reluctant to be with him?

"Winnie, I'll only give you one chance to state your demands in exchange for last night," he arrogantly said.

Ha, treating it all as a transaction, treating her like a prostitute, who gave him such audacity!

Winnie stood up, wrapping her robe tightly around her body, hiding even her pale neck inside. She stood proudly at the bedside, coldly looking at his towering figure, and tauntingly said, "It was just a one-night stand, I don't mind. Does Mr. Rodriguez feel like a man now? Like me, once I've enjoyed it, I kick the dog away. After all, the next time, there might be a younger and stronger man."

"Do you dare say these things on my bed? You're asking for death!" Lawrence R, filled with jealousy, swiftly approached and lightly squeezed her neck.

This woman somehow always managed to pour cold water on his scattered thoughts. He thought that, for her at least, last night would have been different. But it turned out she didn't care at all. He carefully looked into her beautiful eyes, where apart from indifference, there seemed to be no trace of him left. Unlike three years ago, when she passionately loved him, humbled herself to beg for his forgiveness.

In his heart, there was disappointment, suffocation, and an unexpected blow, like being hit by a soft punch.

Lawrence R coldly stared at her, hurtful words slipping out, "Since you want to be a jerk and not take responsibility, I'll grant you that. I don't have to be with you either. Last night, I couldn't have Darcy, so I settled for the next best thing. And as for my physical condition, your hoarse throat proves it all. Let's just consider it a one-night stand, but don't use it to provoke Darcy."

The man put on his wrinkled shirt indifferently, tall and slender, gave her a mysterious glance, pursed his thin lips, and left in anger.

He really knew how to hurt her.

She should have realized she was just a backup. But last night, when he called her name with every trace of fascination, and said those frivolous words when he couldn't resist, she lost herself for a few seconds, foolishly thinking that he still cherished her deep down.

How laughable!

Fortunately, she had long since awakened. In Winnie's eyes, there was a calmness that flickered with hatred. Last night, she was trapped in a situation where she couldn't resist. Taking advantage of this, she would make Lawrence R gradually fall for her again, and then she would exact her revenge on this despicable couple.

Seeing the infuriated expression on Darcy's face, she thought she would be able to witness it soon.

Winnie smirked, ignoring the price, adjusting her mood, and prepared to contact Oscar.

As Lawrence R turned left and stepped out, he bumped into Jeremy.

"Do what are you doing here?" Lawrence R's face was especially cold.

"I'm helping you watch out. Come on, everyone on this floor could hear the commotion. What if Darcy finds out?"

Jeremy rolled his eyes. He was being kind, and yet he was scolded. Who was the one being unfaithful again?

Lawrence R was feeling frustrated. "How about a drink?"

"Seriously? At this hour?" Jeremy couldn't believe it. It was already 6 in the morning.

In the hotel's private lounge, Lawrence R was drinking one glass after another, drowning his sorrows.

Jeremy couldn't bear to see it. He took his glass with his long fingers, feeling puzzled. "You've got what you wanted and enjoyed yourself, why are you still so down?"

"She doesn't need me to take responsibility, nor does she want any compensation. She even kicked me out."

Lawrence R furrowed his brows, his eyes turning cold.

Jeremy found it strange and laughed. "Hearing you talk like this, are you actually regretful that you can't take responsibility for her?"

"Regret? Am I sick?" Lawrence R sneered, his face darkening at memories of the woman.

"Maybe I was just one of many to her."

"Can't you feel it?" Jeremy asked with a mischievous smile, probing deeper.

With the cryptic conversation between men, Lawrence R's eyes burned, pausing for a moment.

She was innocent, like in the beginning, just like three years ago, the difficulty in breaking through...

But what she admitted herself, who knows which words of hers were true and which were false?

Lawrence R couldn't quite figure out this woman anymore. She had become someone he couldn't control.

This feeling made him uncomfortable, yet also strangely attracted...

"As I've always said, if you truly despise a woman, you won't be able to sleep with her."

Lawrence R recalled last night, wishing he could make love until morning.

Jeremy saw him silent and suddenly asked with a smile, "Mr. L, perhaps you haven't even realized, but deep inside, you still love her a little? That's why you couldn't help yourself?"
