Chapter 273 Depend on One's Abilities
At that moment, Luke walked in, holding a project proposal in his arms, looking hesitant. "Mr. Rodriguez, did you forget? There's an important dinner tonight to discuss the collaboration with the Art Hall Jewelry Exhibition."
Island Electronics had been developing rapidly in these past three years, no longer limited to producing artificial intelligence chips. It had expanded to various fields, becoming one of the top three richest companies globally as the Island Electronics Group!
Under its umbrella, there were countless industries including chips, real estate, jewelry, e-commerce, hotels, and technology.
Lawrence R raised his gaze. "Didn't we already secure the collaboration for the jewelry exhibition? Send a company manager to the social event."
"You've already informed Mr. Hughes on that, but the final decision for this major project still hasn't been made. I heard that tonight's dinner is hosted by Alan's team! I wonder how he managed to convince Mr. Hughes. Would you like to go and take a look?"
This project is crucial. If it gains favor with Mr. Hughes, in the future, thousands of jewelry exhibition items in the country may be organized by their company.
While the profit may not catch Lawrence R's attention, it would be an opportunity for Alan to turn the tables if it falls into Imperial's hands.
Narrowing his eyes, a chill surrounded Lawrence R. With long legs, he stepped into the elevator, saying, "Drive there and see what tricks he's playing."
Inside the upscale club, Luke arrived at the private room of 'Moonlike Ink'.
Before, Lawrence R opened the door.
The man stepped forward with his long and straight legs, hands in his pockets, and walked in with unparalleled elegance.
As Lawrence R lifted his gaze, he collided with several pairs of eyes simultaneously.
Alan and Winnie sat close to each other. Alan held a copy of the same project book in his hand, leaning towards Winnie's delicate white ear, teasing and whispering something that made her slightly raise her eyebrows, her almond eyes displaying a cold and alluring shimmer.
She had dolled up, her red lips radiant, earrings charming, and her red dress with a heart-shaped neckline delicately highlighted her collarbones, resembling sparkling white jade.
Unsure of what Alan said, she nodded slightly, exuding a sense of confidence and composure.
Looking up, Winnie felt a strong gaze on her. She saw the man's face turn ashen, towering and majestic, his suit elegant, but his brows increasingly sinister.
Winnie was already prepared. She raised her wine glass and lightly brushed her red lips, "Alan, Mr. Rodriguez is here as well."
"Oh, Lawrence is here." Alan's hand still rested on Winnie's chair, his smile filled with wickedness and a hint of provocation.
Damn it.
Lawrence R's eyes darkened sharply, he pursed his thin lips and took a step back.
"Is this Mr. Rodriguez?"
Mr. Hughes' secretary had already arrived, and it was reasonable to assume that Mr. Hughes was in the restroom...
Luke didn't understand Mr. Rodriguez's intention.
The man pulled out a cigarette and lit it, his expression turning gloomy and intense. "Luke, bring her out to me!"
Sensing Mr. Rodriguez's anger, Luke hesitated for a moment, then instructed a private room manager to find a way to bring Miss Anderson out.
The manager approached Winnie's ear and said a few words, pointing outside.
Alan could feel the cold air invading the room, growing even more delighted. "Looks like Lawrence R is pretty angry."
"Isn't that your goal?" Winnie glanced at him, then stood up.
"You're going out? Aren't you afraid he'll strangle you with a single hand?"
Alan watched her get up.
Winnie smirked, "What do I have to fear?"
She walked out, her high heels gently tapping on the corridor. The light and shadows in the hallway were a bit dim, making Winnie appear even more radiant against the backlight. Her slender waist seemed delicate to the touch, and her red dress swayed with her every movement, exuding a charming allure.
Is this still the slightly naive girl from three years ago?
She was incredibly enchanting, sitting among a group of men, radiating an air of confidence and calmness.
Lawrence R's brows furrowed, his body surging with flames.
His gaze was so intense that it could devour a person whole.
He grabbed her wrist and swiftly pressed her against the shadowy wall, lowering his head and chillingly staring at her. "You infiltrated Imperial Jewelry? Are you tired of living?"
He had intended to find this woman, settle the score with Darcy, and warn her not to struggle against Triton's imminent demise.
But he never expected...
Ah, she caught his attention, sitting next to Alan as if she were his working partner!
Damn it, this thing is now completely with Alan, blatantly provoking anyone!
Winnie frowned tenderly, "Mr. Rodriguez, you've really hurt me. So forceful."
Lawrence R's eyes spewed fire, "Don't be disgusting, you're really cheap."
Winnie chuckled, taunting, "Am I cheap just because I'm looking for a job? I have no choice. My medical license was revoked, and my own company was taken away by a jerk to please his fiancée. I'm desperate. If I don't find a few jobs, I won't be able to survive."
Lawrence R looked at her with disgust and scornfully said, "Winnie, don't try to provoke me. It's too easy to crush you. I'll give you one last warning. If you dare to cause trouble at Triton or slap Darcy, I'll make sure you suffer a miserable fate."
Winnie was momentarily taken aback and then laughed, "Darcy told you that I slapped her?"
"No need for her to say it, I know all about your despicable behavior!"
Winnie's lips curled downwards, "Not only are you blind, but you're also increasingly well-suited to Darcy, that scheming bitch."
"What gives you the right to talk about me and her?"
Lawrence R's tone was cold and sharp, "Get lost from Imperial quickly. No matter how you want to fight me, the outcome is always losing. Stop embarrassing yourself and leave the dinner party now."
Winnie gave a slight smirk and casually replied, "Losing? We'll see about that! Today at this dinner, I'm sitting with Mr. Rodriguez. If Mr. Rodriguez is capable, he'll make me tremble. Otherwise, we'll settle it with our abilities.
She cast a seductive glance at his sturdy chest, blowing a breath of hot air towards it.
That warmth brushed against the man's tie, causing it to visibly tighten!
But then she slid a bill into his tie clip, sarcastically added, "By the way, your kind-hearted fiancée purposely scratched my BMW. The dashcam recorded everything. You can retrieve it from the 4S shop. Don't forget to compensate me!"
Winnie left with a sway.
Lawrence R took off the bill, looked at it, and furrowed his brows.
Suddenly, a man's voice came from his side, teasingly saying, "Lawrence R, were you flirting with another female designer before this dinner?"
Lawrence R composed his expression, turned around, and looked down at the person, "Mr. Hughes."
"Mr. L sure keeps himself busy." Mr. Hughes warmly greeted the business tycoon.
Lawrence R caught sight of Winnie glancing their way as he squinted his eyes and sneered lightly.
"Please come in, Mr. Hughes." The man walked in with confident strides.
"Oh, Mr. Hughes, you've finally graced us with your presence!"
In the private room, Alan's tall figure was seated.
to her,
Mr. Hughes is a meticulous man who doesn't want to offend anyone in the Rodriguez family. But if Lawrence R shows up today, Alan doesn't stand a chance. It's well known that Lawrence R has poached the most talented jewelry designers in the country.
Imperial Jewelry nowadays is no longer the jewelry empire that Lawrence R once led. Rumor has it that Alan doesn't even have a decent designer on his team!
It seems like this dinner is just for show—nothing more.
