Chapter 192 Going to the Hospital

"Lawrence R, are you condoning Darcy or are you genuinely unaware?" Winnie took a deep breath.

"Unaware of what?" He was impatient.

Winnie stared at him with a deep breath. "Yesterday, it was Darcy who intentionally led me to Heidem Hotel. Manager Nelson isn't qualified to attend the summit, yet she managed to find me there. Who gave the invitation to Manager Nelson?"

“Think about it, only you, me, Luke, our lawyer, and Darcy knew about our divorce. Luke and the lawyer have kept their mouths shut. So who leaked the news about our divorce last night? The male bosses at the table deliberately troubled me with the divorce. Can't you see that this is all part of Darcy's scheme? She wanted to publicly embarrass me!"

Lawrence R furrowed his brow.

Winnie stood by the table, staring at his sickly face, and suddenly said, "You slept well last night, otherwise, how would you have the energy to scold me now? Don't you remember? The night when your functioning neurological disorder occurred, you slept well, and only recovered consciousness the next day."

"I want to ask you, during this week when you disappeared, did Darcy accompany you and let you have a good night's sleep?"

Lawrence R furrowed his brow. He had been in the US for a week, and every night, Darcy stayed by his side for hours, but he couldn't get a peaceful sleep even for one night.

He sneered, "Don't use my sleep as an excuse anymore. I'm well aware that Darcy saved me that night when the functioning neurological disorder occurred. What else do you want to say?"

Winnie said, "Poor sleep is also a trigger for functioning neurological disorder. Since Darcy can cure you, why don't you ask her why she can't cure your insomnia? Also, what kind of treatment has she given you these past few days?"

Lawrence R pursed his lips.

Winnie looked at Luke and coldly laughed, "Even Luke knows. Why do you think he came to find me last night? If Luke believed that Darcy could cure you, he would've gone to her."

Lawrence R glanced at Luke and fell into deep thought.

Indeed, Darcy hadn't treated him during this week, claiming that his condition still needed observation.

Yet Winnie insisted on giving him unidentified medication. And he could only sleep by Winnie's side, a long time ago.

He discovered something strange...

With a bang, Winnie's face turned pale as she slowly slid down, clutching onto the table.

"Mrs. L... what's wrong with you?" Luke quickly ran over.

Lawrence R snapped back to reality and looked at the woman who had fainted on the ground. He set down the eggs and walked over, pushing her with a stern face.

"What trick are you playing, Winnie?"

But she didn't move.

His dark eyes stared at her stomach, and a hint of unnaturalness quickly flashed by.

"Mr. L, is Mrs. L exhausted?" Luke asked, his question laden with meaning.

Lawrence R remained expressionless, but his heartbeat quickened. He knew very well that last night and this morning, he had been a jerk.

He pinched his brow, his voice low. "Prepare the car with the driver!"

Luke, feeling worried, immediately made a phone call.

Lawrence R carried Mrs. L without saying anything and went downstairs.

The car headed straight to the nearby hospital.

In the emergency room, the doctor placed Winnie on the bed, drew the curtains, and after examining her, walked out, glaring angrily at Luke and Lawrence R.

"Which one of you is the pregnant woman's husband?"

Luke awkwardly stepped back.

Lawrence R nodded, his cold demeanor making the doctor somewhat wary.

The doctor called Lawrence R into another office and, suppressing her anger, scolded him. "You, as the patient's family, have gone too far. Your wife is over six months pregnant and needs rest. Her baby's position is not good for touching, and you let her get hurt!"

"Hurt?" Lawrence R asked, puzzled.

The female doctor felt no embarrassment. "A tear, it needs treatment. Her emotions have also fluctuated greatly, causing abdominal pain. She's carrying twins, can't you restrain yourself and show some concern? What kind of husband are you?"

A shadow flickered in Lawrence R's eyes, and his deep gaze revealed nothing.

He wouldn't care about her; he only wanted her to suffer.

But now, his own heart was throbbing in pain as well.

The man leaned against the wall, rubbing his hair with irritation.

The female doctor approached with the ultrasound results and scolded, "Mr. L, take a look at these two adorable children. Pay more attention to your wife!"

Lawrence R's eyes landed on the examination report, transfixed, as he hadn't received an ultrasound report in a long time.

The female doctor, seeing this handsome but heartless man, didn't even bother handing him the ultrasound report.

She placed it aside and shook her head. "Such a pity for such a beautiful girl. What kind of husband did she encounter, carrying your twins and enduring such torment?"

Lawrence R let out a self-mocking smile that Luke perceived as both cold and melancholic.

"I'll go check on Mrs. L," Luke made his excuse and left.

Upon his return, he indeed found that the examination report left on the window sill was gone.
It must have been Mr. L who took it!

Mr. L said he didn't want children, but when Mrs. L fell, he was the first one to...

Ah, it's a pity. How can the conflict between Mrs. L and Mr. L be resolved?

-

Luke immediately rushed into the ward, "Mrs. L, are you awake?"

Winnie had a good sleep and felt a bit better. The doctor must have given her medication.
She must have been injured. Lawrence R went crazy without any consideration.

Winnie touched her belly and asked worriedly, "Luke, did the doctor perform an ultrasound on me? I want to see it."

Luke scratched his head, "Please wait a moment, I'll go ask."

Normally, Mr. L would instruct a fixed hospital and keep the twins a secret from Mrs. L.

But this hospital is temporary. Luke quickly inquired with Mr. L.

The man sitting on the bench in the corridor frowned and did not say anything.

Luke understood what he meant and found a way to get the doctor to provide Mrs. L with a single fetus image.

Winnie looked at the result prompt: Low fetal position, no obvious abnormalities.

She looked at the tiny shadow. The child was very thin, less than seven months old, and she felt soft-hearted.

Winnie kept the ultrasound slip and walked out, immediately spotting the man smoking indifferently in the corridor.

He was still here.

She clenched her fingers and didn't want to look at him. She handed a yellow pill to Luke and said, "Give it to him at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Luke, I'm going home first."

"Stop!"
