Chapter 721 Move to My Place

She shot a quick look at Lawrence from the corner of her eye, frowning a bit.

But Lawrence, who had already seen through Rock's act, just let out a cold snort.

"I've done all this, Lawrence. Drop your act. What do you have to say for yourself?" Rock snapped, glaring at him.

Lawrence sneered, "When it comes to acting, Mr. Harrington, you're the star. I can't compete. But if Ms. Smith's disappearance has anything to do with you, the truth will come out eventually!"

Winnie's brow furrowed slightly.

Rock immediately raised their clasped hands, his gaze softening, "I know nothing about Ms. Smith's disappearance. If I did, may I be cursed!"

"Winnie, if it weren't for my concern for you, my fear of losing you, why would I say such things just because of his provocations? Please don't make me sad anymore. I forgive you for contacting him behind my back today, but you must promise to move in with me tonight. I can't bear to have you living alone outside anymore."

Rock looked at Winnie with jealousy and resentment, his face full of disappointment.

Winnie felt a bit ashamed.

He had voluntarily asked the police to investigate and even sworn an oath. It seemed that the matter really had nothing to do with Rock.

What more could she ask of him?

Rock's hurt expression made her feel like a jerk. She had promised him not to contact Lawrence. However, regardless of her reasons today, she had broken that promise.

Feeling a twinge of guilt, she apologized, "Rock, I'm sorry. I have been just here with him to report the case."

Lawrence's long, narrow eyes darkened.

She made it sound so clear-cut.

Rock shot a cold glance at Lawrence, with his expression showing a hint of smugness. He deliberately cupped Winnie's face, speaking gently, "It's good that our misunderstanding is cleared up. I want to trust you, but if you really want to put my mind at ease, move in with me tonight. I don't want you out of my sight for a moment."

Winnie took a deep breath, her mind in turmoil.

She didn't want to discuss this in front of Lawrence, but she had to give Rock an explanation today.

She could only nod lightly.

Then, to end this farce, she turned awkwardly, "Lawrence, since we've already reported it, there's no need to trouble you anymore. Thank you for today."

Lawrence felt a pang in his heart. She was still siding with Rock.

Even though she had just doubted him a little, Rock's pretense had quickly dispelled her doubts.

Rock was cunning.

He looked at her coldly, lips pressed together in silence.

That look made Winnie turn her face away, "Rock, let's go inside and handle the paperwork."

"It's okay, Winnie. With my current status in Trento City, the police will be eager to please me and will take this case seriously. I see you've been running around all day and must be tired. Don't rush; you can go home first. I'll go have a word with the chief."

Rock smiled warmly, touching her hair in an intimate gesture, as if afraid Lawrence wouldn't see.

"Alright then," Winnie nodded.

Just then, Lysander texted, saying there was news from the hospital—Carlos showed signs of waking up?

Her eyes lit up, and she immediately turned, "Rock, I need to go to the hospital. Please take care of things here."

"Go ahead!" Rock nodded gently.

Both men watched Winnie leave.

Rock, facing Lawrence's icy glare, raised an eyebrow and made a call, "Hey, get the place ready. Mrs. Harrington's moving in tonight. Rose petal bath, and that nightgown I picked out. She'll put that on."

After he hung up, he shot Lawrence a smug look.

Lawrence's eyes flashed with anger. He couldn't hold back and lunged at Rock, landing a punch, "How dare you sleep with her!"

Rock didn't even flinch. He wiped the blood from his lip, his once gentle face now twisted, and laughed calmly, "Remember, Lawrence, she's my wife now. How I love her is my business. And she will accept it! Look at you now, with your status and position, you have no right to compete with me."

He arrogantly pushed Lawrence away and strolled into the police station. The chief greeted Rock warmly, like they were old pals. The chief's attitude towards Rock made Lawrence narrow his eyes.

He suddenly got why Rock dared to report the case in front of Winnie. It was just to eliminate her suspicions by putting himself on the suspect list!

But now, meeting the chief alone, he might be secretly instructing him not to investigate Olivia.

His hypocrisy was something Winnie couldn't see!

Lawrence frowned. It seemed Olivia's disappearance was definitely tied to him.

He pondered as he left the police station. He had to find a way to hint this to Winnie.

Moreover, thinking about Winnie agreeing to move in with Rock tonight, and the rose petal bath, Lawrence clenched his fists tightly, his heart aching completely. He had to find a way to stop it.

When Rock left the police station, it was already dark.

In a good mood, Rock got into the car, "Ernest Simmons, head straight back to the villa."

Under the dark, tree-lined night, the car interior was dim, and Ernest sat there, not daring to move.

Sensing something was off, Rock was about to turn his head when a gun was suddenly pressed against his head!

"Don't move." A man's low, cold voice, tinged with laughter, was incredibly dangerous and chilling.

"Who... who are you?" Rock glanced at the man beside him. He wore a black hood, looking mysterious and terrifying.

He also noticed another hooded man in the passenger seat, whose burly frame made the car feel instantly cramped.

The man turned and gave him a sinister smile, "Hi."

"Who the hell are you?" Rock exclaimed.

"A man with a word to be sent." The man in the front seat slowly uttered his name, "Rock, don't sleep with Winnie."

"Did Lawrence send you?" Rock's pupils narrowed.

If Lawrence was playing this trick, he was really overestimating himself. Clearly, at the police station, he was already at such a disadvantage, yet Lawrence still wouldn't let Winnie go. Under this circumstances, Rock couldn't fight the urge to dispose of Lawrence once for all, longing to eliminate any glimmer of hope for him to make a comeback.

"Nope."

The man in the front seat clicked a lighter, a dim flame flickering out. His eerie voice was frigid and deliberate, "Just mark my words. If you dare sleep with Winnie, this gun will blow your head off!"

Rock clenched his fists, his body seething with anger.
