Chapter 220 Secretly Delivering Medicine

Olivia took off her nurse uniform, put on sunglasses, and swiftly left the corridor, bumping into Mr. Gonzalez. He and the doctor hurriedly walked from the nephrology department into the oncology department.

"I just promised Miss Ordelia, but this girl is too greedy!" Olivia was taken aback, what were they promising Darcy? Full of intrigue, she followed them.

The gastric cancer ward in the oncology department, such a challenging part of the hospital. It was situated on the fifth floor. Mr. Gonzalez and the doctor walked in, and a pale figure rushed towards them. Bodyguards intercepted her.

She pleaded, "Mr. Gonzalez, we agreed on the donation of $300,000, but my father's gastric cancer needs proton therapy. The hospital said it would cost another $100,000. You promised to help my father as much as possible if I made the donation. I had no choice, please give me another $100,000. I have nothing left, what can I sell."

"Shut up!" Mr. Gonzalez's face changed, and he immediately instructed the bodyguard to cover the girl's mouth and drag her to the emergency exit in the corridor.

Other relatives of patients in the corridor glanced over, mistaking it for a disturbance, and quickly looked away. Olivia initially thought it was just a regular disturbance, but then she suddenly remembered the girl mentioning "donation." Tightening the mask, and ensuring it covered her face, she and tried to approach the hallway slowly.

Unexpectedly, suddenly Mr. Gonzalez and the doctor came out. Olivia dodged, quickly, into a patient's room. After they she was sure they had left, she furrowed her brows in puzzlement, and stepped into the hallway.

There in the dimly lit staircase, the frail and pale girl was beaten up, with bruises and a swollen face. She helplessly cried, angrily pounding the ground, "What should I do? I really have nothing left to sell. Why are these doctors so horrible, letting my father die without saving him."

Olivia watched her for a while. Trying to figure out why she couldn't find anything suspicious about the four transplant patients in the nephrology department. Why couldn’t she find anything in the original kidney data for that day? Maybe Darcy hadn't gone through the nephrology department, she mused.

She stared at the girl in front of her. Although it was just a hunch, she still asked, "What did you sell for Mr. Gonzalez to give you three hundred thousand dollars?"

The girl was startled, looking up at her. Cautiously, she climbed to her feet. Olivia wanted to approach her and talk, but the girl pushed her away and ran, clutching her abdomen.

Olivia focused on her actions of clutching her abdomen, her heart racing even faster. Her mind was spinning in confusion, and suddenly she recalled the conversation between Darcy and the doctor in the director's office earlier.

Mr. Gonzalez had said Darcy's surgical scar was shallow, it was Barbara who corrected Mr. Gonzalez, saying that scars from kidney donations couldn't be shallow. She pondered carefully and let out a derisive smile. However, when she looked up, she couldn't see the girl anymore.

She didn't even know which ward her father was in. Damn it, witnessing all this was an accidental gain today. Where was she going to find this girl now? Olivia was almost certain that if she was able to investigate this girl, she would uncover the truth Winnie wanted.

Meanwhile, Winnie made a detoxifying pill, but she wasn’t able to deliver it to the villa estate, so she had to secretly contact Taylor and arrange to meet nearby her apartment. When Taylor arrived, she sighed deeply, and her eyes turned slightly red.

"Mrs. L, what on earth is going on? We had no idea that you were living in this secluded apartment. All we heard was, from Miss Ordelia's trusted maid, that you divorced Mr. L with his signature?”

“Then that morning, Mr. L brought you to visit Grandma. Grace and I thought you had reconciled. After you left that day, the maid said Mr. L had a huge tantrum in the living room, almost smashing everything he could!" Winnie smiled bitterly, she felt numb, not knowing where to start with so many things.

Taylor felt heavy-hearted. "How did you and him end up getting divorced? Now, your unborn child doesn't have a place to live. Miss Ordelia is going all out, buying furniture, decorating the villa. She’s getting engaged to Mr. L in two days, and he is rushing into this so quickly!”

“I think she’s relying on his sympathy, Miss Ordelia wants us, the old servants, to treat her as the mistress. Otherwise, she wants us gone.” Taylor sighed heavily.

Winnie listened with a heart full of sorrow. It pained her to see Darcy being favored like this. And poor Taylor and Grace, old servants like them, must be facing difficulties. She took out a big bag of medicine and stuffed it into Taylor's hands.

"Taylor, I need you to listen carefully. I can't go back now, but my mother's body is poisoned. I’m really worried about her. I’ve made an antidote, and I need you to secretly feed her one pill every day. Here’s a six-month supply of the medicine.”

Winnie continued to stress the importance of the medication, “I'll find a way to contact you in six months. If there are any special circumstances and we can't communicate, take this address, and have them make the medicine accordingly.”

“This medicine can gradually eliminate the toxins in my mother's body, and her organs won't show any changes on the surface, so it can bypass Darcy's planned examinations. Taylor, remember this: every time Darcy comes to visit my mother, whatever she feeds her, you have to use a stomach tube to remove it.”

“If my mother doesn't die as the doctor expects within three years, it means she's recovering. At that time, I'll switch to a more potent medicine. Maybe she will experience a miracle and waking up. So, for these three years, I'm relying on you to protect her." Winnie gave Taylor numerous instructions and even showed her the blood test report.

Although Taylor didn't understand pharmacology, she could read. She was so shocked, and it took a moment for her to regain her composure. She turned pale and said, "Mrs. L, are you saying that the toxins in Madam's body were caused by Darcy?"

Winnie questioned, "If it's not her, then who? My mother could have avoided being in a persistent vegetative state. But she used this poison to make my mother fall into a deep coma, gradually corroding her organs, accelerating her death within less than three years."

"Is this true? But Mr. L checks on her every day. How could Miss Ordelia be so wicked?"

"The doctors can't detect it," Winnie she shook her head sadly.

"And besides, he trusts her completely now. He would only think that I have evil intentions, trying to sow discord, which is why I am having you secretly administer the medicine. I haven't gathered enough evidence against Darcy yet. If you alert her, she might harm my mother in secret."

Understanding Winnie's sorrow and considerations, Taylor finally nodded heavily and lamented, "Mr. L really doesn't judge people well. I never expected Miss Ordelia to harm Madam first and then donate a kidney. How could she can come up with such a malicious scheme!”
“It's chilling... It's such a hardship for you, being misunderstood by Mr. L and going through a divorce, but still caring so much about Madam. You are the one who truly cares for her. Is there no way for us to expose Miss Ordelia's true face?" She was furious!

Winnie squeezed her hand and said, "I asked a friend to investigate. In order to prevent her from harming Mom again, I must expose this truth in front of Lawrence R. The choice will be his, but it will save Mom's life." As she spoke, Olivia called.

"Winnie, I've got a lead. I'm sure Darcy is up to something. She's meticulous and didn't search for a kidney donor in the nephrology department. I found a girl who might have sold her organs to save her father, but I lost her again.” Her exasperation was evident through the phone.

“Once we find this girl, everything will be possible. Just you wait, I'll catch her by lurking around the oncology department every day." Winnie tightened her grip on the phone, breathing heavily.

After Olivia hung up, she looked back at Taylor and smiled, saying, "The truth won't wait for long, Taylor. Until Lawrence R discovers the truth, you must protect Mom. Thank you for your hard work."

Taylor was also uplifted and said, "Of course. Once Mr. L realizes the truth and that you're innocent, maybe you two can reconcile!" Winnie couldn't say what she wanted about him and could only give a calm yet sorrowful shake of her head.
