Chapter 336 A Reunion with the Family

"...No, it's not very convenient." Bob pursed his lips, seemingly avoiding something. He called his adjutant and left quickly.

Lawrence watched the tall figure of the old man leave and his dark eyes flickered.

"Daddy, I think Grandpa is much better than my biological grandpa. My biological grandpa has never even seen me before," Sidney commented while unpacking the toys given by Bob.

Seating himself on the sofa, Lawrence crossed his long legs and lit a cigarette. With a cold and distant gaze fixed on the rising smoke, he uttered, "In Lymington, you don't have a grandpa. He only has one son, Alan."

"Then aren't you, his son?" Sidney innocently asked.

To this question, Lawrence had no answer. His phone rang several times, all calls from Darcy, but he just frowned at his phone screen and didn't answer.

After a while, Luke's phone rang and he approached Lawrence. "Lawrence, it's Darcy. Today, the Ordelia Group lost the lawsuit, and they are being investigated on site. Netizens have also discovered the Ordelia Group's pharmaceutical factory in Lymington. Darcy is probably…"

However, before Luke could finish his sentence, Lawrence interjected, finishing it for him with a scoff, "She is probably wondering if I want to help the Ordelia family."

Understanding the implication behind Lawrence's words and his attitude toward the Ordelia family this time, Luke nodded before stepping out to make the call.

Lawrence stood up and lifted his son. He straightforwardly said, "Sidney, Daddy is taking you out for dinner. How about staying at the river view villa tonight?"

"I want to see Mommy…" Sidney's lips curled slightly. His dad's attitude this time wasn't too bad, not as bad as Oscar had described. Encouraged, Sidney made a request, "I watched today's trial, and Mommy triumphed over the bad woman. I want to go and celebrate with her, Uncle Rock and Grandpa Elliott!"

The thought of Winnie happily getting into Rock's car with Elliott in front of the courthouse made Lawrence's face quickly darken and sternly responded, "No, you're not allowed."

Winnie went to Lymington Prison to handle all the procedures for her uncle, and as a result, Elliott was officially released on bail for medical treatment. On the way back, Lena called and to Winnie's surprise, she was accompanied by George. They had hurried back from overseas and were waiting at Winnie's apartment.

Winnie led her uncle back, and upon the father and daughter's reunion, Lena's face turned red from crying, mirroring Elliott, who also couldn't hold back his tears. "Dad, I missed you so much! You've lost so much weight. These three years in prison must have been terrible for you. Finally, Winnie saved you. This is wonderful!"

"Silly daughter, thanks to Winnie's efforts, our family can reunite."

"Yes, today was really dangerous. At the critical moment, Winnie came up with a brilliant plan to force that cunning Jeffery out."

Olivia was indignant, quickly skimming through the news. "The trial was broadcasted live, making headlines and causing a big fuss. Right there, you can see on the screen the police arresting Mr. Ordelia. I don't get it, what's so special about Trento City people? Everyone is equal under the law. The Ordelia family's pharmaceutical factory in Lymington is a major source of profit for the Ordelia Group.

"Now, their stocks have plummeted, and the factory has been blockaded by netizens. It's really satisfying. Winnie, your revenge plan against the Ordelia family has taken a huge first step!"

Elliott raised his gaze to Winnie, feeling confused. "What revenge plan, Winnie?"

Seeing his confusion, Lena sighed deeply. "Dad, you got the target of your revenge wrong. It wasn't Lawrence. The true enemy of our Granger family is the Ordelia family. They're the ones responsible for the deaths of Grandpa and Aunty."

Elliott froze at the revelation.

At that moment, George walked over with frustration and disappointment were evident on his face. George, who was a mute, unable to speak all year round, shook his head and made numerous gestures toward Elliott.

Winnie slowly understood and interpreted George's sign language for her uncle. "Uncle, George mentioned that he had reminded you a long time ago. But at that time, you were consumed with revenge and solely focused on restoring justice for the Granger family. You wouldn't listen to anyone. George said that your father had sent you abroad back then to study the ancestral medical skills of the Granger family. Despite that, you never settled down and insisted that Lawrence was the one who killed your father, wanting to seize everything from him."

Elliott blushed in shame and buried his face in his hands. "So, it was all my mistake. How many wrongs have I done?"

George continued to communicate through sign language as Winnie resumed interpreting, "The downfall of the Granger family was all orchestrated by the Ordelia family. Your father used to be a medical giant in Trento City, and that Ordelia kid used to be his apprentice but later turned against him. Seeking refuge in Lymington, the Granger family found no respite, as the Ordelia family relentlessly pursued them. If your mother had sought help from your biological father in Trento City, the Granger family wouldn't have suffered so much. Unfortunately, your biological father had another family, and your mother was too proud and aloof to seek help from him."

Winnie subtly froze, her heart trembling. It was the first time she had heard about her own family background. She remembered her uncle had mentioned before that she wasn't Matthew Anderson's biological child, and her mother had sought refuge in Lymington due to an accidental pregnancy.

"My biological father, does he have a family?" Feeling a mix of complexity, she didn't have high expectations. Curious, she continued, "Who is he in Trento City? Do you know?"

"I only know that he is from a prominent family in Trento City. He tried to find you back then but your mother didn't allow him to meet you."

Winnie fell silent, unsure about what else to ask. At this moment, it seemed that she didn't have the energy to focus on her unknown heritage. She needed to deal with Darcy and Lawrence first in order to regain custody of her two precious sons.

"Mummy!" Oscar walked over and interjected, "It's good that Grandpa Elliott is out on medical parole. Let's not cry and be sad here. Mummy, we now have company, and our loved ones are saved. It's a double blessing, and right now, what's important is that our whole family is reunited. Shouldn't we celebrate?"

"Oscar is right, Winnie. Now that Elliott is out and Lena has returned to the country, let's book a private room and have a lively celebration," Rock said as he stood gracefully by the door. He didn't enter earlier, not wanting to interrupt their family conversation.

Surreptitiously glancing at Rock, the tall and refined man, Elliott felt somewhat satisfied. "Winnie, is he your boyfriend? He's been so attentive all day, and he seems extraordinary," Elliott whispered to Winnie.

That look he gave Rock made Winnie inexplicably uncomfortable. Her face turned red, and she replied gently, "Uncle, he's my friend. He has helped me a lot."

"I understand. I was the one who caused you harm three years ago, and you should move on from Lawrence's shadow," Elliott added, acknowledging the past and suggesting a path forward.

Winnie quickly changed the subject and said, "Uncle, Lena has someone she likes."

"What?" Elliott was shocked. In his eyes, Lena was still a young girl. He quickly became concerned and his expression turned dark. "Who is it?"

Reflecting on Alan's past deception of her uncle, Winnie harbored strong feelings of disdain. She refrained from disclosing this information and interjected before Lena could respond.

"You know what, I am suddenly feeling really hungry right now. Let's go eat."

"Yeah!" Everyone happily stood up and left the apartment.

Meanwhile, in the luxurious and serene lounge of a riverside villa, Sidney received a notification of a location. Upon learning that Oscar, Elliott and Lena had all reunited, he felt both unsettled and suspicious. It seemed unjustifiable that his mother and Oscar went for a family reunion and had excluded him, the little darling.

Lawrence finished his work in his study on the upper floor and came down. He loosened his tie, rolled up the pristine white sleeves of his shirt and asked his son in a deep voice, "What do you want to eat?"

"I miss Mommy! I want to have dinner with her. Daddy, you can't deny me the right to see her."

Lawrence's brows furrowed, his gaze narrowing. "It seems she didn't spare any effort to visit you in the hospital that day. It has only been a few days, and you already miss her? Do you still even love your dad?"

Sidney rolled his eyes, feeling exasperated. He couldn't help but notice that Lawrence consistently employed emotional threats against him. The little guy folded his arms and muttered, "Mommy and her family are celebrating outside right now. Oh, by the way, that man, Rock, is there too. Perhaps he's attending the dinner as Mommy's boyfriend, and she's introducing him to the rest of the family, especially to Elliott."

Lawrence momentarily froze as he walked toward the kitchen, exuding a cold chill. Sidney nestled on the sofa, and soon enough, he saw his dad going upstairs to change into a suit.

Not long after, Lawrence descended, donned in a white shirt and black pants, exuding an imposing presence with his tall stature. His demeanor, cold yet handsome, completed the striking image he presented. He said expressionlessly while holding the car keys, "You've annoyed me enough. I'll allow you to see her once."

Sidney was shocked. He knew for a fact that his father finally allowed him to go, not solely for the purpose of meeting his mother, but clearly because his father had heard that Rock was at the reunion with Winnie. The little guy curled his lips, not exposing the fact that his old man was contradicting himself.

Sidney crawled off the sofa and quickly followed behind his dad.
