Chapter 884 He Couldn't Take Responsibility
Olivia gazed into his narrow eyes, his glasses reflecting a cold light.
She still vividly remembered three years ago when she was kidnapped by Jason and Victoria, and Jeremy rushed to save her.
It was the first time she was shocked to see how wild and ruthless Jeremy could be.
He burned the kidnapper's forehead with a cigarette! He rescued her from the dark room.
Maybe it was from that moment three years ago that she started to have different feelings for Jeremy.
If she hadn't been raped by Sam and given birth to Mia three years ago, and since she was pregnant now, they might have had a chance to be together!
But there were no "ifs" in fate.
"Whose child is this?" He was full of anger, suppressing his emotions as he questioned her.
Olivia almost didn't doubt that he wanted to strangle her right now! But in his eyes, there was also a glimmer of probing light.
Her heart wavered, she had the impulse to tell the truth, but she didn't have the courage!
He came too quickly. From the moment Winnie found out she was pregnant until now, it had only been four hours. When she didn't know how to handle it, Jeremy suddenly appeared.
Her heart ached, she tried hard to hold back her tears, turned her back, and walked towards the hospital bed, "Why are you here?"
"I asked you!" Jeremy strode over, roughly grabbing her thin shoulders, "Olivia, answer me honestly, whose child is it in your belly?"
"What does it have to do with you?" she replied lightly, coldly.
Jeremy's heart tightened, "Who did you sleep with? If you don't admit it's Sam, then who is it?"
Olivia listened to his tone, looked up at his confused eyes.
The hope in her eyes dimmed a bit, and she blurted out, "You still haven't recovered that part of your memory?"
"No." Jeremy answered truthfully.
But the fact that she could ask him this question, asking if he had recovered the memories of those days on Azure Isle, was enough to prove that she had something to say.
His large hand, with long fingers, slid down her arm and suddenly grasped her delicate wrist!
His nose almost touched her delicate nose, breathing hotly, "In the part of the memory I haven't recovered, did something happen between us on Azure Isle? You kept saying this child isn't Sam's, what if it's mine? Olivia, tell me, does this child have anything to do with me?"
Olivia's tears fell under his charming tobacco scent and burning gaze!
Now there was no one else, no Sam.
Could she tell him, could she admit it? Regardless of the consequences...
After all, it was because they made love for three days that this accident happened. It was all his fault, his lack of restraint.
And it was also her fault for being soft-hearted, foolish, using the excuse of helping him cure his cold poison, indulging in a fleeting dream with him!
She was wrong then, terribly wrong!
"Is it my child?" Seeing her pursing her lips, remaining silent, Jeremy's mood fluctuated again.
Maybe she would give him the answer he wanted most.
Maybe her silence proved his guess.
"Olivia, say it," Jeremy's hoarse voice broke the silence, his hand brushing her cheek, making her tremble, breaking her defenses.
His thin lips were very close to her trembling red lips, "Don't torture me anymore. I actually don't believe that with your character, you would have anything to do with Sam or those other men."
"Jeremy..." Olivia cried out, her heart trembling at his comfort, filled with resentment, "You bastard."
Creating a child, what was she supposed to do?
She couldn't marry him; her status and experiences would never match his.
And what about his relationship with Lynn?
Winnie had explained many times on Jeremy's behalf, saying that Jeremy and Lawrence had to stabilize Lynn to ensure the Rodriguez Group's smooth recovery and to defeat Rock. Jeremy had to keep Lynn from talking nonsense.
So Jeremy was just pretending with Lynn.
For half a month, Olivia was too angry, too heartbroken, and refused to believe Winnie's words.
Now that the war was over, had he completely broken up with Lynn?
If he was single, maybe... maybe he could take responsibility for this unexpected child?
Olivia's thoughts were chaotic, her mind a tangled mess.
"Why am I a bastard, Olivia? Is it my child? Did I do something to you during that lost memory?" Jeremy's lips brushed her fragrant hair, his large hand couldn't help but grasp her waist.
She looked up at his clear brows and narrow eyes in a panic, trembling as she asked, "You first, have you ended things with Lynn?"
"Yes." Jeremy kissed her hair, hope spreading in his heart, he responded to her.
Olivia's defenses gradually lowered.
She clenched her fingers tightly, too nervous and embarrassed, her throat dry with tension.
She stepped out of his embrace, wanting to walk to the side quietly, while thinking about how to explain everything to him, to make it clear, not considering what future they could have, but to first discuss this unexpected accident, maybe he could give some advice as the child's father.
She could trust him to solve this, right?
Olivia turned around, intending to admit it, to tell him that the child was accidentally conceived during his amnesia.
But at that moment, her phone rang!
A text message popped up on the screen. Olivia didn't intend to check it, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw the sender: [Lynn.]
Lynn had sent her a text, at this moment!
Her heart was uneasy, a bad premonition arose in her mind, and her hand uncontrollably clicked on the message.
On the screen, a photo was particularly glaring, taken from Lynn's perspective: it was morning, with today's date marked, the sunlight shining on half of Jeremy's devilishly handsome figure. He was wearing a black leather jacket, casual and carefree, his wrist adorned with a conspicuous luxury watch, drinking coffee, his fingers strong.
Lynn was sitting opposite him, showing half of her happy profile.
Lynn mockingly sent: [Olivia, he was still having coffee with me this morning, we are very happy. I was diagnosed with lifelong infertility, Jeremy will never break up with me, he said so himself!]
[Oh, and I was the one who told him you were pregnant, I said it might be Sam's child, and asked him to go to the hospital to check on you, so you wouldn't be killed by Sam. He reluctantly went to see you for my sake.]
[Don't overthink it, a woman like you who gets pregnant by random men doesn't deserve him. Do you think the DeRoss Family would let you and Jeremy be together? Dream on.]
Olivia's hot breath turned cold.
The heat and impulse in her mind seemed to be doused with cold water in an instant.
He and Lynn were still entangled this morning, they hadn't ended with Lawrence's rise.
He was planning to marry Lynn, to make up for her.
So what was the point of him coming to the hospital now, asking whose child it was?
He never intended to take responsibility, he couldn't take responsibility.
