Chapter 88 Come Home with Me
Upon hearing the previous sentence, Benjamin was greatly shocked, even blushing slightly.
She really dares to say it, Mrs. L.
L’s gaze deepened as he looked at the woman's blushing face. Her hands were soft as she held onto his chin, thinking she used great strength, when in reality, she only tickled him. The man's Adam's apple was tickled by her touch, causing a more intense itch, making a seductive and sensual movement.
Just like his scorching gaze. Winnie turned her head and saw him looking at her, immediately feeling disgusted and releasing her hold on his chin, while giving him a furious glare.
"..." L’s lips curved, and his ferocious little kitten returned.
"Mr. L! Look at how shameless she is, insulting me. Make her get lost," Eva complained to L.
The man glanced indifferently and his gaze turned cold. "Get lost." He said.
Winnie was taken aback, her heart feeling a chill.
Eva sneered darkly at her, "Did you hear that? He told you to get lost, Winnie!"
"I said, get lost—" L’s handsome face turned cold, unable to endure any longer, and he disdainfully looked over at Eva.
"Benjamin!" His eyebrows furrowed. "How did you let a woman like her in here?"
Benjamin gave Eva a stern look, looking helpless. "How would I know? As soon as I heard Mrs. L was coming, I immediately asked you to go."
Winnie looked up at the peaceful Darcy and casually mentioned, "It seems like Miss Martin came in with Darcy."
L looked over, at Darcy seemingly waiting for an explanation. Darcy hadn't expected Winnie to throw a bomb at her, and she innocently smiled. "Mrs. L, it's a misunderstanding. I only met Eva at the entrance. Isn't that right, Eva?"
Eva, agreeing not to involve Darcy, naturally nodded. "Don't falsely accuse others. I arrived at the clubhouse a long time ago."
Winnie innocently chuckled, "Look at you all. I merely mentioned it, not that Miss Martin was brought here by Miss Ordelia. Besides, even if she was, it wouldn't matter."
She seemed unconcerned as she spoke. L looked at Darcy, his brows furrowing, a look of disappointment.
Darcy's heart sank as Winnie redirected the blame to her with just a few words. She had carefully disguised herself as harmless and kind in front of Mr. L. All that was gone now.
"Alright, Eva, stop causing a scene. It's important for Mr. L and Mrs. L to reconcile," Darcy said, helping Eva up and presenting a gentle and composed image to L.
Winnie curled her lips lightly. Suddenly, she felt a warmth behind her. With her peripheral vision, she saw a strong-arm reach over and lean against the back of her sofa. It looked as if he were embracing her.
Winnie's face tensed up, and she immediately tried to scoot farther away from him. But L gripped her wrist before she could move.
Under the dim lights, the man's eyes carried a warm glimmer as he looked at her shallowly. His low and captivating voice asked, "Do you still remember that I am your husband?"
Winnie's heart trembled. This man, wearing a mask in the dim light, seemed like a demon, both attractive and deadly.
With all the grievances she had bottled up, she retorted, "Soon, you won't be anymore!"
But the man remained unaffected; he felt as if his heart was scratched by cat claws, both itchy and enticing. He couldn't help but hold her hand and sigh softly, "Will you come home with me?"
Home...
Winnie's heart felt as if it had been pierced by a warm sword, both warm and bittersweet. He still knew about their home, and he even said he wanted to create a real family with her.
For all these days, he had disregarded her... Her eyes turned slightly moist, and she swiftly stood up and rushed outside, unable to control her emotions.
L frowned, then his lips curved. The man felt his heart warm towards his kitten. As Winnie took two steps outside, he had already caught up with her and embraced her, leading her straight toward the Bentley parked in front of the club.
Luke, filled with joy at the sight, swiftly opened the car door. Still Inside the club hidden in the shadows, under the gloomy nightfall, Darcy watched this scene unfold.
Winnie was held affectionately and placed into the car by him. Darcy's heart pricked with pain as she narrowed her eyes, thinking that it seemed this woman had some hostility towards her.
Whether there was hostility or not, she would proceed with her next plan!
"Darcy, I can't stand it," Eva said jealously, breaking Darcy’s train of thought.
Darcy glanced at her. This foolish woman wasn't a match for Winnie, but she still had some use. Darcy helplessly smiled, "Don't be discouraged, Eva. I will help you create more opportunities."
"Darcy, thank you. I must drive out that wicked Winnie!" Eva said through gritted teeth. Darcy smirked; yes, once Winnie is driven away, you won't be difficult to deal with. She pondered the situation.
Silence enveloped the car.
The woman sat as far away from him as possible since they had entered the car, causing L to furrow his brows tighter and tighter.
Luke cautiously drove ahead when suddenly his phone chimed. He picked it up and saw a message from the Mr. L: "Turn the heating off."
"..." Luke stole a glance at the 'pair separated by an ocean' between the CEO of Imperial Jewelry and Mrs. L...
So ruthless, but undeniably cunning. Luke thought as he turned off the heating, as instructed.
The late-November weather caused the temperature inside the car to drop, rapidly. Winnie, wearing a thin sweater, shrank in her body fiercely.
Luke glanced in the rearview mirror; the man's dark eyes pierced through him as he texted, "Speak!"
"..." Luke's chin twitched. Can't you console her yourself? He thought to himself irritably.
Luke coughed awkwardly, "Mrs. L, the heating in this car is broken! I can see that you're really cold. Why don't you sit in Mr. L's lap or Mr. L can wrap his coat around you..."
"..." Winnie wasn't blind. Could the heating in a million-dollar Bentley really be broken? She couldn't help but glance at the mature and stable man beside her. Mature men like him often had ulterior motives.
She replied with a cold stare.
L raised an eyebrow, took off his suit jacket, and extended his warm coat towards her. "Since Luke suggested it, then come and sit on my lap..."
"No need!" the woman coldly refused, throwing his suit jacket back at him.
"..." A certain defeated man.
Luke's hands shook on the steering wheel. L turned his head to look at her. Her profile showed a shining and slender figure, emitting an aura of cold stubbornness. She was still angry. Although she came home with him, she ignored him.
In his mind, the man scratched his head like a cat. With a subtle curve, his thin lips formed a mature arc as he narrowed his eyes. He reached out his hand to touch hers. Winnie quickly evaded, annoyed by his actions.
He had hot fingers, and he tried again. Winnie evaded again and leaned towards the car door.
He firmly grabbed her delicate, small hand. Annoyed, Winnie turned around and swatted his hand away!
"Are you bothering me?" Her eyes were slightly red, moist with a hint of tenderness.
Feeling deeply wronged, L was momentarily stunned.
Ding-ling-ling, Winnie’s phone broke the tension in the car, with a frantic heart beat, Winnie immediately turned her head and picked up the phone. On the other end was Olivia. “I was worried about you, so I came to Pearl Club to find you. Where are you?”
Winnie pouted. “I’m already home.”
“Home... with L?” Olivia's words carried a significant meaning as she opened her mouth wide.
Winnie remained silent.
In the silence, Olivia blinked her eyes and hung up the phone. What a perplexing man. Didn't he say he wanted to break up and divorce a few days ago?
Olivia curled her lips and suddenly turned around to leave the club, bumping into a tall wall of flesh. Olivia looked up and saw Jeremy's refined face, framed by glasses. His chiseled features were as elegant as an ink sculpture, surpassing any handsome man in the entertainment industry who wore glasses.
Olivia's face instantly turned red. The memories of that day were a blur, but she seemed to remember that this man had saved her and even teased her at the airport.
However, when she woke up, she found herself abandoned in the hospital corridor, treated like garbage.
'...' Olivia looked at this somewhat impolite man and still mustered a thank you. “Mr. DeRoss, um, you were the one who saved me that day, right?”
