Chapter 735 Sending Invitations

Winnie was a bit taken aback. "Rock, everyone knows we're married."

Rock looked serious. "I'm mainly worried about Lawrence showing up."

Winnie was surprised. "This is a high-profile event. He probably won't come, right?"

After all, the Rodriguez Family had fallen from grace and moved out of Camellia Mount.

"That's not a given." Rock gently covered her hand and said, "Winnie, you know I don't want you to see him. I don't want any more drama. I just want to keep you safe."

Winnie had nothing more to say and just nodded.

But she noticed a glint in Rock's eyes, like he was really invested in this banquet.

Winnie was puzzled; it seemed like his interest in the event wasn't just about Lawrence.

The next afternoon.

The King Family's banquet at Camellia Mount was in full swing. Limousines and low-key cars alike were pulling up to the estate, making the scene incredibly grand.

Bob and Lawrence stepped out of their car.

After some persistent effort, Bob finally got the mysterious buyer to agree to meet. Maybe they could snag an invitation to get Lawrence into this exclusive event.

"Is that the Rodriguez father and son?" People getting out of nearby cars started to gossip.

Hellen got out of her car and overheard. She turned and saw Bob.

Ronnie had already told her how crucial Adam's banquet was for the Peterson Group.

Her face changed slightly. She didn't expect the Rodriguez father and son to show up here.

Hellen immediately walked over. "Bob, what are you doing here?"

Bob glanced at her, a cold light in his eyes.

He brushed past her, heading towards Lawrence.

"Bob, you don't belong here. Camellia Mount is off-limits to non-residents or those without invitations. You've sold the Rodriguez Villa; you have no right to come back! You’re not trying to sneak into Mr. King's banquet, are you?" Hellen said loudly, making sure everyone around heard.

Bob's face instantly darkened. Once, he was the owner of Camellia Mount, living in the mansion at the top.

Now, even returning once meant enduring ridicule.

And the person mocking him was his ex-wife, Hellen.

He suppressed his anger and said coldly, "Hellen, I didn't bother you. Don't push me."

"You think I want to deal with you, fallen ex-husband?" Hellen sneered. "I see neither of you have invitations. It's obvious you're trespassing on private property. Security, come and throw these two off the mountain. We don't need them disturbing Mr. King's important banquet tonight."

As she spoke, several armed security guards approached. "Mr. Bob Rodriguez, do you and Mr. Rodriguez Rodriguez have invitations? If not..."

Lawrence raised his cold eyes, ready to step forward and shield Bob.

At that moment, a delicate voice chimed in from the side, "They have invitations!"

Bob was stunned. Melissa?

He turned back in confusion to see Melissa walking over in an elegant dress.

She was holding a child's hand, who looked like Sidney at first glance.

The child snorted disdainfully and walked up to Hellen. "We came to deliver their invitations. They just forgot to bring them, so stop causing trouble!"

"You." Hellen looked at Melissa in shock, almost not recognizing her.

She had only seen Melissa once in the hospital, when Melissa was emaciated from leukemia.

Unexpectedly, after a few months, Melissa had recovered, looking full of energy. Although her hair was mixed with a lot of white, her whole face exuded a strong aura.

Such a Melissa also surprised Bob.

"What are you doing here?" Bob asked in a complex, surprised, and somewhat awkward low voice.

Melissa ignored Hellen and didn't dare to look at Lawrence. She walked directly to Bob, took out two invitations from her bag, "These are your invitations."

Lawrence stared sharply at Melissa. Lawrence hadn't anticipated she had invitations from The King Family. This was impossible.

Melissa had always been weak. Wait, Lawrence's keen thoughts suddenly froze.

Melissa secretly glanced at Lawrence, feeling immense pressure.

Bob asked gravely, "How did you get the invitations?"

"I... I..." Melissa was at a loss for words.

"Grandpa, Grandma was the one who bought the Rodriguez Villa!" Oscar said straightforwardly, while glancing at Hellen's embarrassed face and smiling, "Some people probably didn't expect Grandma to pull this move, buying the Rodriguez Villa and then giving it back to the family!"

"This is impossible." Hellen couldn't believe it, her eyes staring at Melissa with jealousy, "You have no power, no influence, and no knowledge. How could you afford the Rodriguez villa?!"

She and Ronnie had spent a long time investigating this mysterious buyer.

Unexpectedly, it turned out to be a woman like Melissa helping Bob!

Hellen felt like her face had been slapped hard.

Bob's eyes widened in shock.

He never would have thought that the person who bought the Rodriguez Villa was her.

But Bob was very puzzled, "Melissa, where did you get the money?"

Melissa blushed at his soft tone. She thought after all these years, he probably hadn't even gotten her name right. After all, she was his cousin's wife back then.

It struck a chord in her heart. This resolute and particularly serious Bob.

Melissa lowered her eyes, not daring to look at Lawrence's face, and said, "Anyway, I bought it. The King Family gave me two invitations. You and Lawrence can take the invitations and enter the banquet. Oscar and I won't bother you. We'll leave now."

"Hold on!" Hellen couldn't let it go. If they went in like this, it would publicly humiliate her.

After all, she had just mocked Bob for not having invitations.

Hellen huffed, "Melissa, these two invitations must be stolen, right? How could you possibly afford the Rodriguez villa? I was at the auction that night, and the bidder was clearly a man. I say, Bob, this must be a scheme between you all to sneak into The King Family's banquet! Security."

"Mrs. Peterson, please do not wrongfully accuse others." Melissa finally couldn't bear it anymore. She took out a property transaction certificate from her bag with trembling hands and opened it in public, "See for yourself. I am the owner of the Rodriguez villa! Mr. King sent invitations to every household in Camellia Mount. Since I returned the villa to Bob, he is still the owner and entitled to attend this banquet!"
