Chapter 134 Pressuring Daniel
He searched for a power outlet but couldn't find one.
Suddenly, a middle-aged woman burst into the conference room. Seeing Manager Baker and the young woman rolling on the big screen, she stormed up to the stage in anger. "Tom Baker! You bastard, fooling around outside!"
“My Dear, I didn't do anything!" Tom turned his head and froze when he saw his wife enter the company.
"You haven't? The video is on my phone! You came from the countryside and only made it this far by marrying me. Now that I'm getting older, you've been up to no good with that Darcy. I'll kill you!" Manager Baker's wife charged at him, and they started fighting.
After being hit several times, Manager Baker couldn't bear it anymore and slapped her. "You crazy woman! Isn't it enough that you embarrass me?"

Milly had already snuck away to the entrance of the Kingdom Estates. She chuckled softly and said, "The conference room is in chaos. Manager Baker's father-in-law is a small shareholder in the company. Normally, he fears his wife a lot, so this is quite embarrassing for him. He even hit his wife! Many employees have come to see the commotion and secretly recorded videos, sharing them in the company's internal work chat group."
Winnie nodded. "Send them all to me. The real show will be tomorrow morning."
Milly looked at her in astonishment and silently gave her a thumbs up.
In the parking lot, Olivia leaned out of the car window. "Did Manager Baker's wife arrive just in time?"
"Thanks to you. I hacked his computer and sent the video to his wife," Winnie chuckled.
"Exactly as you instructed. It seems like Darcy has left, but her subordinates are still here. You'll be in trouble as soon as you show up!"
Winnie narrowed her eyes, and a coldness flickered in the corner of her eye. She hadn't forgotten Darcy's meaningful words this morning and what Manager Baker had done to her today.
It must have been Darcy who manipulated him remotely. Without the courage she had given him, Manager Baker wouldn't dare target her so boldly.
If she didn't take care of these insiders, it would be dangerous for her to stay at the Kingdom Estates.
But...this is L's company. I wonder if he knows about all this?
Winnie felt a bit anxious and disturbed the meeting. She took out her phone and called L.
However, the man didn't answer. He mentioned being on a business trip and must be busy.
Winnie breathed a sigh of relief and got into the car. Olivia suggested,"Laura is here, why don't we go out for a bit?"
The three of them went to a bar.
Olivia raised her glass and teased Winnie,"Congratulations to our Vice President Winnie for making a leap in the Kingdom Estates. The wife of the CEO, holding Triton Company in your hands, you've become a wealthy woman. You'll be taking care of me from now on!"
Winnie glared at her with frustration.
Laura raised her glass, her usually indifferent face showing a rare hint of joy. "Winnie, I appreciate what you did for me making Darcy leave Lymington. I understand what you meant."
Winnie looked at Laura's gloomy face. "Do you and Mr. Martin have a lot of misunderstandings? Now that Darcy has left, maybe you should open your heart to each other."
Laura smiled bitterly. She had always opened her heart to Ray, but he trampled on it with disgust.
"It's difficult." Laura looked defeated as she spoke.
"Darcy is still causing trouble behind the scenes, Laura. She can't wait to return to the Kingdom Estates and give Winnie a hard time!" Olivia chimed in.
"She won't get that chance." Winnie tightened her grip on her glass. Her secret battle with Darcy would come to an end tomorrow.
Just then, a refined and deep male voice sounded next to the table. "Ms. Anderson?"
Winnie turned her head suddenly, a bit surprised. "Rock?"
Rock looked at her fair face and then glanced at the two girls next to her. His voice was warm and gentle. "Can we talk privately about work?"
Winnie knew what it was about, and she wanted to avoid it, but she couldn't when it came to him.
Awkwardly, Winnie walked with him to the side.
Rock ordered a drink at the bar and sipped it lightly. He turned his head to look at her shimmering eyes, which seemed a little evasive.
With a helpless smile, he said, "I didn't expect you to terminate the contract for Triton and the Harrington Group's raw materials. When terminating the contract, you didn't show up either. Did my confession scare you?"
Winnie could sense the accusation and disappointment in his words.
He saved her at the hospital, and she only paid for the medical expenses. She didn't personally take care of him and quickly broke the agreement.
She touched her hair, feeling inferior in front of such a mature man, and apologized,"Rock, I didn't mean it that way. It's just that my partner asked me to avoid suspicion."
"But we don't have anything between us. He's too domineering." Rock shook his head, looking deeply into her eyes. After a moment of hesitation, he continued,
"One day, this kind of relationship will suffocate you. I know my confession came too late, you already have someone in your heart, but I just wanted to say that my feelings for you were only one-sided."
Winnie was slightly taken aback. There was a depth of emotions in his gaze.
She didn't know when she had left an impression on Rock's eyes. Was it really when she was twenty, did he remember her at first sight?
But she couldn't respond. Winnie could only reply calmly,"Rock, I remember your kindness. If you ever need my help in the future, feel free to ask. My friend is waiting for me, sorry, I need to return to my seat."
Rock sighed. "Can we still be friends?"
"Of course." Winnie agreed politely.
He stared at the girl as she obediently returned to her seat, his gaze deep and contemplative.
Winnie took a deep breath as she returned to her seat. Olivia nudged her shoulder and forced a smile.
"MR. Harrington asked if you're here for work or personal matters, Winnie.”
Before she could finish speaking, Winnie's phone rang. The caller ID showed Daniel's name. Winnie narrowed her eyes, paused for a moment, and instead of hanging up, she answered.
Daniel's voice was anxious and filled with anger,"Winnie, what do you mean by your actions? Where are you? I must see you!"
Winnie had expected Daniel to come looking for her, either today or tomorrow. It seemed that Triton's finance and board of directors moved quickly. Winnie grabbed her bag and said to Olivia and Laura, "I need to leave for a moment. I might go straight home later. You two should go back early too."
Olivia stood up, puzzled, and exclaimed,"Hey, I saw Daniel's call on your phone, that scumbag. What does he want?" Winnie waved her hand without answering and hurriedly left.
"Damn, what's going on with Winnie today? Let's hope L doesn't find out," Olivia said, looking at Rock who hadn't left the booth yet. Laura picked up her glass and said,
"Winnie must have something urgent to discuss with Daniel. Don't worry, let's continue drinking."
Not far from the bar in a small cafe, Winnie arranged to meet Daniel here. A handsome man in a suit walked in; Daniel was actually quite good-looking, but that was the feeling Winnie had before she met L and before Daniel turned against her and repeatedly hurt her.
Now, all that was left was her hatred for him, the man who wanted her dead. Daniel's face showed exhaustion and a hint of redness in his eyes. He walked up to Winnie's table and stared at her intently.
Annoyed, he questioned,"Winnie, why did you have the finance department liquidate my performance shares at Triton? You even had the board draft a resolution to remove me from the CEO position. More than half of the shareholders have already signed it, and it was you who won them over, wasn't it? Why did you have to go to such extremes?"
"Who has always been extreme? Daniel, I considered sparing you. Triton's common shares don't belong to you, and I've converted your performance shares to $2 billion in cash. You can start your own business with it. I've said before, if you don't give me Grandpa's address book, I will take action against you sooner or later."
