Chapter 133 Targeting Winnie
Winnie glanced at him and chose a chair to sit on. "Manager Baker also said 'used to be.' So, is Darcy no longer with us?"
"You..." Manager Baker's face darkened, and he said, "This room is full with the five of us. Ms. Anderson, please go to another room."
Winnie lifted her head gracefully. "Since Manager Baker said it's the Vice President's exclusive room and you're not at that level, why don't you go to another room?"
Manager Baker, with an annoyed glare at Winnie, had his group of people move to the adjacent room with a dismissive wave.
Winnie scanned them one by one, paying attention to which senior executives had a good relationship with him.
In the adjacent room, Manager Baker's secretary said indignantly, "Rumor has it that Ms. Anderson is the mistress who supplanted Darcy. She drove her out and now wants to supplant Manager Baker too."
An employee nearby was not clear. "Mistress who supplanted?"
Manager Baker's secretary informed everyone, "Don't you know about the mistress incident a couple of days ago? Darcy had an engagement with the CEO for many years, but she meddled and now took Darcy's position."
"That's outrageous." One of the executives said.
"She even wants to become Vice President. She doesn't have even half of Darcy's abilities."
Seeing the employees gossiping, Manager Baker sneered.
The partitions between the rooms were not soundproof, so Winnie could hear everything clearly from her side.
Milly looked embarrassed. "Ms. Anderson, should we go out and give them a piece of our minds?"
Winnie clenched her fist, coldly put away the recording pen, and shook her head. "Stay calm." She said to Milly.
She ordered two light dishes. However, after waiting for half an hour, the dishes still hadn't arrived.
Milly went out to ask and came back angrily after a while. "The restaurant manager said the dishes were sent to Manager Baker's room by mistake."
Winnie narrowed her eyes. "Such precision in sending it to the wrong place?"
"I think the restaurant manager has been bribed by Manager Baker. They deliberately targeted you today when the CEO is not here..." Milly said angry at the injustice.
Winnie stood up and said coldly, "No problem, let's order takeout."
She went back to her office and studied Manager Baker's information before making a phone call to Olivia. "Olivia, could you help me check some information..."
The whole afternoon, not a single senior executive came to report to Winnie. Her office was empty, and she couldn't take over any work.
Milly looked anxious. If the CEO asks about it tomorrow...
The Vice President couldn't fit into the work here at all. However, Winnie remained calm and composed. After reviewing the architectural information of the five-star hotel, she glanced at her schedule and asked,
"It's three o'clock. Isn't there a meeting for the new project?" Winnie asked, Milly.
"Yes, but Manager Baker didn't inform you. He simply doesn't value you," Milly replied angrily.
Winnie stood up, and at that moment, Olivia's 'information' arrived as well.
She quickly skimmed through it and a slight smile formed on her lips. "Since he didn't inform me, I'll go on my own. Which floor is the meeting room on?"
On the 48th floor, the meeting for the five-star hotel project was about to commence.
The senior executives took their seats.
Manager Baker made a call in one of the secluded corridors, a smug expression on his face.
"Darcy, I have been neglecting Winnie since she arrived this morning. At lunch, she was mocked in the restaurant. I spread rumors about her becoming a mistress to secure her position. Even if she stays at the Kingdom Estates, nobody will cooperate with her. In the upcoming meeting for the new project..."
Darcy on the other end sneered, "Don't allow her to join. You know what to do. Later, when you report to the CEO, say that she knows nothing about real estate. The CEO won't blame you; he'll only think she's a hindrance to the work. The worse her reputation at the company becomes, the sooner I can return. You can act freely, and I'll promote you when I come back."
Manager Baker's heart suddenly eased, and his eyes lit up. He returned to the meeting room and said, "Let's begin the hotel project meeting."
Manager Campbell hesitated beside him, "The hotel project meeting is significant. Shouldn't we call Ms. Anderson...?"
"Do you think she'll understand if you call her? Don't delay the CEO's billion-dollar project!" Manager Baker ridiculed disdainfully.
Manager Campbell immediately refrained from saying anything.
Just then, the meeting room door was forcefully pushed open, and a woman in professional attire, appeared composed and smiling, walked in. "Has the meeting started? I hope I'm not late. Manager Baker, I'm actually quite interested to hear your presentation." Winnie said with a smile.
When Manager Baker saw Winnie, he was inexplicably shaken by her presence, almost perceiving a hint of Mr. L's charisma in her.
But thinking of Darcy's support, he sneered disdainfully, "Ms. Anderson, this is a major project that the CEO values greatly. I've heard that you sell jewelry. Is someone from the jewelry business capable of leading a real estate meeting? Do you think it's appropriate?"
The senior executives who were unaware of Winnie shook their heads upon learning that her expertise had no connection to real estate. They all expressed their doubts, one after another.
"They are completely different industries." Manager Baker said.
"She wants to lead the meeting like this? Is she just seeking attention and treating a large project like a joke?" one of the executives said to the other executives.
Manager Baker sarcastically looked at Winnie.
"Eh, it seems that everyone disagrees with Ms. Anderson joining the meeting. If you really want to stay here, you can go to the corner and listen in!" Milly clenched her hand angrily, at the tone of disrespect.
Winnie calmly approached Manager Baker's seat, glanced at his nameplate, and smiled, "This is the Vice President's seat. Manager Baker, please make way."
After saying that, she unceremoniously pushed Manager Baker to the ground!
"Winnie, you..." Manager Baker was caught off guard, angrily getting up and preparing to approach her.
"What do you want to do to a pregnant woman?" Winnie coldly stared him down.
Manager Baker suddenly thought about the fact that the CEO's child was in her womb. His heart skipped a beat, and he stood there with an unsightly expression on his face.
Winnie lifted her chin and addressed everyone, "Let's start the meeting. You may continue the discussion."
The senior executives exchanged glances,
Manager Baker sat down next to them, provoking Winnie quietly, "Ms. Anderson, we were discussing whether the hotel group should adopt a circular design or a twin structure. Since it hasn't been decided yet and it might occupy half of the city, perhaps you can offer some suggestions?"
Winnie raised an eyebrow, opened the project document, and spoke, "Both circular and twin structures are limiting for a hotel group that occupies half of a city. Since it's a hotel cluster, it needs to be grand. A five-star hotel should pay more attention to comfort and space utilization. We can refer to the design model of the Dubai sail-shaped hotel…”
As soon as she started talking, everyone fell silent.
The gaze of the senior executives gradually changed, whilst listening to Winnie. This was not ignorance; on the contrary, she understood very well.
Manager Campbell couldn't help but interject, "Ms. Anderson, what you said is very professional."
"What's so professional about it? Anyone could understand the basics," Manager Baker interrupted, "If Ms. Anderson is capable, she should come up here and explain!"
Manager Baker was confident that she knew nothing about Real Estate and was waiting to find fault with her, making her embarrassed and then going to the CEO to complain about Winnie disrupting the meeting.
"Alright then." Winnie calmly agreed and handed the USB flash drive to Milly as she stood up. Milly understood her gaze and immediately left.
Winnie walked towards the podium and before she reached the microphone, the hotel model on the big screen suddenly changed, and an intense video was played!
The voices of a man and a woman intertwined, which was quite striking in such a serious conference room!
Everyone looked up in surprise and saw that the male protagonist in the video was none other than the middle-aged Manager Baker!
He was rolling around with two women on a sofa in a private room, and it was obvious that neither of them was his wife.
Manager Baker froze, his face turning unsightly as he stood up and rushed over, "Turn it off quickly! Who did this? Turn it off!"
