Chapter 814 Awakening
"You better stop pretending, Winnie herself said that you're injured and have sexual dysfunction," Olivia sneered, glancing at his perfectly slim waist.
"Can't I be cured?" Lawrence couldn't help but growl.
Although he wasn't fully recovered yet, with his condition fluctuating, he did manage to relieve her last night, didn't he?
Besides, why was he arguing with Olivia about his capabilities here?
He said impatiently, "Are you here to check on Winnie or not? If you keep talking nonsense, just leave."
"Wait!" Olivia suddenly remembered the main issue and immediately took out her laptop. "Last night, after we left the Harrington Villa, Rock immediately posted on Facebook. Notice his cryptic tone. What does he mean by this?"
Lawrence furrowed his brows and took the laptop, feeling a bad premonition.
Rock was always scheming; it couldn't be anything good.
Rock's Facebook post was long, accompanied by a selfie with his eyes bloodshot: [Despite my struggles in business, I keep failing in love. I don't want to know I am brutally betrayed. Tell me, how much do I have to give to get a little response, even a bit of respect from her?]
[Don't laugh at me, but since our marriage, I've only held the hand of the one I love. I don't know if this is called a marriage. How can I get her to move on from him? How can I make her mine?]
[I'm sorry, I lost control tonight. I was wrong, my wife. I'll take any punishment you give me. No matter what you do to me, I still love you, very much.]
As soon as Rock posted on Facebook, countless comments followed.
First, Rock's Facebook was a major account, usually only sharing news about the Harrington Group.
Second, he deleted the post just three minutes after posting it.
The space left for speculation was infinitely magnified.
Netizens quickly shared screenshots and commented with concern: [Mr. Harrington, have you been drinking?]
[Why are you so sad? Did you have a fight with your wife?]
[Mr. Harrington is talking about unrequited love. He also mentioned being brutally betrayed? Isn't his wife Winnie? Didn't Winnie have a past marriage with Lawrence? Is Mr. Harrington implying that Winnie cheated?]
[Seems like it. Otherwise, why would a grown man be unable to handle a late-night drinking session, with red eyes? Mr. Harrington is so pitiful.]
[Everyone, be rational. There's no evidence yet, don't jump to conclusions about Winnie! Besides, Mr. Harrington deleted the post quickly.]
[The fact that he deleted it quickly proves there's something hidden! Winnie is definitely not a simple woman.]
Lawrence's eyes darkened, "Rock is indeed a despicable person, pulling such tricks."
Seeing the comments, Olivia finally understood, "Rock is completely slandering Winnie while pretending to be humble. The whole post subtly suggests that Winnie doesn't love him, and then he deletes it quickly to stir up discussion. His tactics are really high-level. What is he trying to do with this cryptic tone?"
"He's probably worried we'll call the police, so he's playing the victim online first," Lawrence's eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing, "He probably has more tricks up his sleeve."
Olivia said, "He almost tortured Winnie to death, and all the evidence points to him. Does he still want to slander us?"
Lawrence looked out the window with a sinister gaze, "We came back in a hurry last night. I was holding Winnie the whole time, and she had another episode. If someone deliberately took photos from certain angles..."
Olivia's eyes widened, "Are you saying Rock might have secretly photographed us?"
"Bodyguards!" Lawrence immediately called for his men, "Surround the villa, guard it strictly, and don't let any reporters sneak in."
"Yes, Mr. Rodriguez."
"Lawrence, I brought the doctor," Jeremy rushed back, "What's going on?"
"Rock probably wants to act first," Olivia was furious.
Lawrence's cold brows furrowed tightly. He let the doctor in and instructed, "The patient has many external injuries. Doctor, please document each one to prove it's from domestic violence."
Olivia added, "Yes! Document everything. Once Winnie wakes up, she can divorce Rock, and all this evidence will be useful!"
The doctor nodded nervously and went in to give Winnie a detailed examination. He came out with lingering fear, "Why didn't you call me earlier? The patient has taken an overdose of a potent drug, damaging her liver and kidneys. She's lucky to have survived last night. If she hadn't, she might have died suddenly! I advise you to take her to the hospital; she needs detoxification."
Olivia looked at Lawrence.
Lawrence's eyes were icy. It seemed Rock had intended for Winnie to die last night!
He shook his head ruthlessly, "She can't leave now, especially not from my villa. Rock must have people waiting to take photos of her 'cheating.' At worst, I'll call the director of the Rodriguez Group hospital to come here and detoxify her at home."
"Lawrence, I can detoxify myself." On the bed, Winnie weakly opened her eyes. She looked exhausted, with dark circles under her eyes and pale, dry lips, struggling to speak.
Lawrence strode over, caressing her cheek, overjoyed, "Winnie, you're awake?"
"Yes." Winnie had some fragmented memories of last night. Looking at Lawrence's handsome features, she felt shy.
Lawrence noticed and held her hand, glancing at the people present. He leaned down, whispering with a smirk, "We've been together for so long, don't be shy. But you did wear me out last night."
"You... shut up," Winnie trembled, embarrassed and angry.
As he got closer, the remnants of the drug in her system made her feel something, and her voice softened immediately.
Seeing her eyes welling up, Lawrence felt a warmth in his heart. He deliberately touched her haggard face, whispering mischievously, "Do you want more? But I'm a bit exhausted, Winnie. Let me rest for two hours."
Winnie understood, her face turning red, wanting to slap him.
She bit her lip angrily, "Who needs your help? You can't even do it properly. Don't think I don't remember you being on and off last night."
Olivia, blushing, had to speak up, "There's someone else here."
Winnie looked up, her face darkening.
But seeing Olivia, her thoughts returned, and she weakly pushed Lawrence away, "Go away, don't get in the way of me talking to Olivia. She finally comes back."
Lawrence knew she had many questions for Olivia.
He sensibly stood up and walked to the side.
Olivia came to the bedside, offering Winnie some water.
Winnie grabbed her wrist, her eyes instantly red, "Olivia, tell me everything you found out about Rock. He almost killed you. I must seek justice for you."
"Winnie, Rock is terrifying. You probably don't know; he doesn't just want revenge on you. He wants the Blanchet Group behind you. He's been planning this for a long time!" Olivia said gravely, taking something out of her pocket.
Winnie's face changed instantly.
