Chapter 891 The Purpose of Plastic Surgery
Audrey's eyes darted around as she desperately denied everything in front of Lawrence. "I really don't know what you're talking about! This kid hacking into our customers' information is illegal! And I see so many clients every day, it's impossible for me to remember each one. I swear I've never seen this woman. Maybe the system made a mistake, she wasn't my client!"
"If she wanted facial micro-surgery, it had to be you who attended to her," Oscar shot back.
Lawrence let Oscar handle the questioning, staying silent but firmly pressing Audrey down into a chair. The oppressive atmosphere made Audrey so scared that she went rigid, not daring to resist.
Lawrence didn't even have a knife in his hand, but his cold expression was intimidating enough. She was on the verge of tears, cursing her own stupidity for letting everyone leave. Now the door was closed, and no one could save her!
Thinking about the money and warning she received from Ishara, she gritted her teeth. "We have a duty to keep our clients' information confidential. I really don't remember what she consulted about. Please leave, or I'll call the police!"
Lawrence immediately ripped open her lab coat and threw her phone to the ground, shattering the screen. His deep eyes darkened even more. Audrey's face broke out in cold sweat.
Oscar walked over, speaking gently, "I bet Ishara gave you a big bribe to keep quiet, didn't she? You can't possibly forget her. You must have a very strong impression of her. How about this, we'll give you more money. Bryan!"
Bryan walked in and handed over a card. Lawrence's voice was icy, "There's half a million in here. Tell me what she consulted about, what surgeries she had, what her goals were, and what she told you. If you tell me everything, the money is yours. If not, there will be consequences."
Lawrence reached into the doctor's display case and pulled out a nasal implant and a small knife, smiling coldly. "You usually show your clients how you do bone shaving, right? How about I learn how to shave your nose?"
"No! Put the knife down! Who are you?" Audrey's face turned pale. Who was this man?
She added, "If you harm me, I can call the police and have you arrested!"
"This is Mr. Lawrence Rodriguez from Trento City," Bryan said slowly. "Try calling the police and see if it helps."
Audrey's eyes widened as she looked at Lawrence. She had seen him in the news. How could she forget the face of this man who had made a comeback? She collapsed to the floor.
Lawrence adjusted his clothes, squatted down, and pressed the knife to her face, not truly angry. "Say whatever comes to mind."
Audrey trembled, closing her eyes and stammering, "She... she came for some minor facial adjustments. She was pregnant at the time, which is why I remember her so well. I didn't want to take her case at first. But she somehow found out that I'm great at shaping with fillers, so she insisted on having me change some parts of her face..."
"Change her face? What did she want to look like?" Lawrence's eyes bore into her.
Audrey hesitated, her mind racing, her face growing darker. She changed her story, "It wasn't really changing her face! She just wanted to look more refined, so I gave her fillers in her nose and chin."
"You're lying," Lawrence said, pressing the knife closer. "Tell me exactly what parts of her face she changed, and did she give you specific requests? Why did she want the surgery?"
"Let go first!"
"Performing surgery on a pregnant woman, you know the risks to the fetus. You must have asked her why," Oscar analyzed immediately.
Audrey's face turned white. Of course, she had asked. Any pregnant woman seeking plastic surgery would be refused because the fetus could be harmed! But Ishara had given her two hundred thousand, and they had agreed to only use fillers to change her features, so Audrey had taken the risk.
Oscar asked, "Why was she in such a hurry for surgery?"
"She didn't say! But she seemed really urgent and gave me some photos of facial features as templates!"
Oscar quickly exchanged a look with Lawrence, who shouted, "Show me those template photos!"
Audrey carefully got up, stumbled to the cabinet, and pulled out the photos, her lips pale. "She was very cautious. She didn't give me complete photos to mimic, just some of the brow bone, temples, and corners of the eyes, as well as the shape of the lips. She wanted me to use fillers to shape her face exactly like those. Fillers stay in the skin and don't mix into the bloodstream, so they don't affect the fetus much. That's why I took her case. I swear, that's all I know. She came quietly a while ago for the final touch-up and hasn't been back since! I don't know anything else about her!"
The partial photos fell into Lawrence's hands. He frowned deeply, flipping through them. At first, they seemed like random close-ups of a woman's face, and it wasn't clear if they were of the same woman. But as he looked again, at the brow bone, the corners of the eyes, and the lips, Lawrence paused, showing the photos to Oscar, pointing at the shape and color of the lips. "Oscar, do these lips look familiar to you?"
"Whose lips are these?" Oscar asked Audrey.
Audrey shook her head frantically. "I don't know! She gave me the photos in a jumbled order and just asked me to use them as a guide for the fillers. How would I know whose photos these are? Maybe... maybe she was insecure and wanted to look like someone else but didn't want me to know who she was mimicking..."
Didn't want anyone to know who she was mimicking? Lawrence turned this over in his mind, his sharp eyes narrowing. He was almost certain Ishara wasn't dissatisfied with her appearance. Even if she wanted surgery, she wouldn't do it so hastily while pregnant. She must have had a hidden agenda!
The more he looked at the lips, the more they reminded him of Winnie's lips! He had kissed Winnie's lips so many times, he knew their shape, color, and softness by heart. Winnie's lips had a natural upward curve, were very thin, and had a pinkish hue with barely any lines. If these photos weren't distorted, they might just be Winnie's lips. Then the brow bone and the corners of the eyes...
Lawrence studied the photos again. "Oscar! Do you have a full-face photo of your mom on your phone?"
