Chapter 803 Are You Trying to Piss Me Off?
"First, place them with the Rodriguez Family. I'll have someone guard the Rodriguez Family. As long as the kids don't go out, they won't be in danger," Lawrence said, glancing at her sideways. "What I'm really worried about is you!"
"Winnie, leave him. I'm afraid if you don't get a divorce, you'll be in danger. Rock's intentions towards you aren't that simple."
"I figured as much. He's doing this to get back at me for being taken away by you and spending so much time with you on the island," Winnie said with a cold, bitter smile.
"I'm afraid it's much more than that," Lawrence knew Rock well. He wouldn't go to such lengths just for revenge without a bigger motive.
Besides, Winnie was the heiress of the Blanchet Family.
But for now, it was just a suspicion. He hadn't caught any evidence of Rock plotting against Winnie, so he could only say forcefully, "Take my advice and leave him immediately. If he refuses to divorce, I know many famous lawyers who can help you file a lawsuit."
Winnie looked away indifferently. "If I want a divorce, I can handle it myself, but now is not the time."
Seeing her stubbornness, Lawrence's eyes filled with anger.
If she didn't believe him, fine, but she clearly had doubts too. Why wouldn't she leave Rock?
Didn't she know she was in constant danger?
"Winnie, why can't you just listen to me? Why do you insist on putting your life on the edge of danger?"
"Just because you say so, I have to listen?" Winnie responded coldly. "Just take care of the kids. You don't need to interfere in my affairs."
"You're the woman I love the most. How can I just stand by and watch you be in danger? If you don't get a divorce, I will interfere in your affairs."
Lawrence, filled with rage, blocked her in the car, forcefully turning her face towards him. His eyes were domineering yet filled with deep concern. "You have no idea how good Rock is at pretending and how dangerous he is. Do you think just because he says he loves you, he won't hurt you? Don't overestimate yourself. He even wants to kill our children. Do you think he has any limits?"
Winnie's heart tightened. She knew everything he said.
"In any case, I can't leave now." She avoided his fiery, angry gaze, and Lawrence's stern face grew even colder. Winnie turned her head away.
Lawrence wouldn't let her. Seeing her stubbornness, his eyes turned red with anger. "Are you trying to piss me off?"
"Winnie, I'm telling you, if you don't value your own life, and something happens to you, I won't grow old alone because of you. Instead, I'll find a wicked stepmother for Sidney and Oscar right away. Then, when they abuse the kids, you'll regret it."
Winnie glared at him speechlessly.
She knew he wouldn't do that, but she was still angry and concerned. "You wouldn't dare treat the kids like that."
Lawrence laughed coldly, his expression turning serious again. "Even if you don't come back to me, I still want you to be safe. Do you understand my feelings?"
He sighed, resting his chin on her hair, his voice extremely gentle. "I don't want to threaten you like this, but I don't want our sons to be without their mother, and I can't lose you either."
Lawrence's strong presence enveloped Winnie, his breath brushing against her nose and skin.
At this moment, he was mature, reliable, and filled with a burning warmth.
Winnie felt the air in the car was stifling, maybe because the windows were closed. She instinctively wanted to push away his strong chest, avoiding his deep, intense gaze.
"Don't get distracted. Did you hear what I said?" Lawrence, seeing her head moving around, grabbed her neck and said in a deep voice, "I'm serious. If you don't listen to me, I will really do it!"
"Alright, you can talk without getting so close, can't you?" Even though there was some distance between them, Winnie felt suffocated by his hot breath.
Her face was also flushed, turning a shade of red.
Lawrence suddenly stopped talking, noticing her slightly fluttering eyelashes.
He also saw her face turn a bit red.
Feeling moved, he grabbed her chin, his Adam's apple bobbing as he leaned in to kiss her.
He smiled and said, "It seems you heard everything. I was too close, and it distracted you?"
"I did not," Winnie pushed him away angrily. Seeing the sudden intensity in his eyes, she was speechless. "The car is too stuffy, and you're talking so close. Lawrence! Is this the time for this? Sidney and Oscar are terrified at home, and you still have the mind for this."
"I couldn't help it; you're just too beautiful." Her dazed look and slightly flushed face made his heart flutter. "I just wanted to comfort you with some closeness."
"I didn't get into a car accident; I don't need your comfort!"
Lawrence, trying to lighten her mood, blinked his deep eyes. "Then when do you need it? Just call me anytime, and I'm always willing."
He emphasized the word 'need.'
Winnie was speechless. When did Lawrence become so shameless?
He had disrupted her so much that she didn't know what to say. She snorted coldly, "Stop pestering me. If it weren't for your constant pestering, Sidney and Oscar might not have been harmed."
Lawrence's eyes turned cold. "Isn't it Rock who's heartless? It's a good thing I pestered you. Otherwise, if you were living a harmonious life with Rock now, you'd be deceived even more cruelly in the end."
His eyes were icy. "A bad man like him, full of schemes and interests, probably never truly loved you. All his so-called deep affection is just a lie."
Was his pestering actually helping her?
Winnie looked at his mouth speechlessly. Although she knew Rock had issues, his direct insight into Rock was sharp.
"Why couldn't you see through Darcy and Ishara before?" Winnie mocked him.
Lawrence's eyebrows twitched hard, pretending not to hear. "Anyway, I'm not a bad guy like Rock. Even if I'm bad, I'm openly bad, and I would never despicably take revenge on a woman."
"Yeah, you were so generous to Darcy and Ishara."
"Winnie, I know I was wrong to trust them before." Lawrence finally admitted his mistake helplessly and quickly changed the subject. "We've wasted enough time here. The driver who caused the accident has been caught. Let's go to the police station."
Winnie didn't feel like arguing with him anymore. Her mind was a mess, with many things to think about. She got out of the car and followed him into the police station.
