Chapter 438 Merely Polite to Her

Eleanor and Skylar had carefully orchestrated their schemes.  One wanted to ruin Winnie, thinking that once she slept with Sean, that playboy, she'd be tainted and her hopes of entering the Blanchet family would be dashed.  Skylar, tempted by Eleanor, coveted the 10% Blanchet family shares Winnie held. She dared not offend Carlos, so the plan was to have Winnie "seduce" her son. That way, Sean could also marry into the Blanchet family, and Bryan would be powerful enough to contend with Lawrence.  But shortly after they burst into the villa, Skylar let out a scream.  By the poolside, on the ground, Sean and a shirtless, well-built man were in an embrace. Shirts were scattered around, making the scene before them appear ambiguous and unsightly.  Skylar was dumbstruck seeing her son bare-bottomed and being whipped with a belt by another man.  "Ah! Sean is actually sleeping with a man, with a man!" Angela, known for her big mouth, couldn't keep secrets.  Instantly, everyone who followed Skylar into the villa turned to look.  "Sean you little rascal, what is this?!" Skylar was seething with anger as she walked over.  "Mom, no, I didn't. It was this man who suddenly pounced on me." Sean quickly pulled up his pants, calling out.  Amy, watching the drama unfold, clicked her tongue, saying, "Aunt Skylar, who would've thought Sean was so open. He really doesn't discriminate, does he!"  "Damn it! I told you it was this stinking man who—" Sean was about to speak but was silenced by Jeremy covering his mouth.  Jeremy feigned disgust as he leaned in, saying, "Sean, why didn't you call me a stinking man when you were enjoying yourself just now?"  Sean felt like he was about to burst a blood vessel.  The scene was too much to bear. Eleanor was dumbfounded, seeing Sean with a man. This wasn't what she had expected. The Rodriguez family's servant was supposed to bring Winnie there. But after searching the pool area, not only did she not find Winnie, but she also saw no signs of struggle. Perhaps Winnie was there but was hiding somewhere.  Eleanor quickly signaled Angela, and they rushed into Sean's villa, shouting as they searched, "Winnie? Winnie, where are you?"  Minutes later, Eleanor came down without spotting Winnie.  Skylar was too preoccupied to care. Her son's scandal, being seen by so many, left her frantic, wishing she could turn back time and not have led the group in.  Eleanor confronted Sean, asking, "Sean, have you seen my daughter, Winnie Anderson, come in?"  "I, she..." Sean was again silenced by Jeremy.  Jeremy jokingly responded, "Sean wouldn't bring a woman when he's playing with me because he said he only loves me!"  "You, get lost!" Sean felt nauseous.  Skylar was equally sickened.  Eleanor, not knowing Jeremy, found him revolting. She quickly changed tactics and asked, "Where could Winnie have gone? She couldn't have disappeared, right? Skylar, I must find her. If something happens to her, how can I explain to Carlos?!"  Skylar, still in shock, agreed. "Mrs. Blanchet, don't worry. We absolutely can't let anything happen to her. I'll immediately send some servants to help you look."  "I'll help too," Amy offered, seizing the opportunity with a smile.  Jeremy watched these women act, and once they turned to leave, he immediately texted Lawrence.  "You disgusting gay, what's your relationship with Ms. Winnie?" Sean came at him, furious.  Jeremy stepped on his face with disgust, still shivering from the encounter. "Relax, I'm about to throw up last night's dinner. I'm a perfectly functioning straight man."  He had even accidentally slept with Lynn while being drugged three years ago on the night Winnie had an incident. Although it was his first time, it was enough to prove he was normal.  Dressed now, Jeremy warned Sean with a sinister tone, "About Ms. Winnie being here, you'd better not say a word. Of course, no one will believe you now anyway!"  Outside Sean's villa, Eleanor and Skylar had gathered many of the Rodriguez family's servants to search for Winnie on a large scale.  Jeremy's eyes twitched at the scene.  - Lawrence received the message and immediately stood up.  In that moment, Ishara noticed a subtle change in Lawrence's expression, and she suspected her mother might be intervening. Hastily, she set aside her bowl of medicinal soup and, with a smile, looped her arm through Lawrence's. "Lawrence, I've just had a sudden craving to watch a movie. I've heard the Rodriguez family has a private cinema. Would you mind taking me there?"  Lawrence subtly pulled his arm free. His mind was fully occupied by the text message. His face tense as he softly said, "Ishara, I have something to attend to. You can go watch it by yourself. I'll have a servant come to assist you!"  "But I only want you to accompany me. Also, I haven't finished my medicinal soup. Aren't you going to supervise me?" Ishara did her best to prevent him from leaving. With a weak tone, she pointed at the soup, attempting to use her health as leverage.  Lawrence, growing impatient despite confirming her well-being and the constant presence of a doctor, stood up with a distant frown. Finally, he spoke, "Ishara, while I promised to be your boyfriend, I can't be with you 24/7. I have my own free time. You're doing well now, so you don't need me to constantly look after you. You can eat your soup, rest, or go to the cinema—whatever you prefer."  Perhaps too rushed, he didn't notice his harsh tone, and after instructing the doctor, he left.  Ishara's expression remained composed, but inside she seethed with anger. She recalled that he was only extra gentle and caring with her in front of the Blanchet family elders and during the banquet when he thought of Winnie. Alone like this, he was cold and proud to the bone, merely polite and "dutiful" to her.  She would pull on his arm, and he would immediately withdraw, clearly rejecting her affection.  She had no chance to stir his emotions.  In the end, he really only cared about her body. If she had known, she would've used her illness to threaten him earlier. Ishara clenched her fists, watching Lawrence grab his coat and stride out. Perhaps he was in a hurry because Winnie had called for help.  She wondered why was he still so anxious about that wretch.  Ishara, jealous, immediately sent a message to Eleanor, hinting: "Mother, Lawrence might be on his way, speed up your actions!"  She couldn't show her hand or expose herself. But as long as her mother succeeded in catching Winnie and Sean in the act, Mr. Lawrence would completely discard her.  Ishara sneered.  - Standing in front of Winnie was an elderly maid holding a lamp, startling Winnie.  She held her breath in fear, stepping back.  The old servant spoke, "Ms. Winnie, I am Leah Rodriguez's servant. Can't find your way out of Sean's yard? The old lady sent me to help you to show you the way."  Winnie frowned, knowing that it was Leah Rodriguez again.
