Chapter 121 Winnie Gets Kidnapped.
On the other end of the phone, were Sophia and her daughter Ava, they were uneasy as they spoke. They had been taken to a remote warehouse and, after the kidnappers left, they finally managed to return to the Anderson family. It dawned on Sophia that they had been deceived!
Sophia hesitated as she spoke, "Darcy, we were kidnapped last night, and they claimed you sent them. I accidentally mentioned about you framing Winnie and sending her to the police station. But later, those kidnappers said it wasn't you who sent them. Could it be Winnie? Darcy, we made a mistake. Can we not involve Ava's competition anymore?"
Darcy had no time to listen to what they were saying. Her face turned cold instantly. It must be Winnie, and she might have recorded everything. These two idiots! Had said.
Darcy narrowed her eyes fiercely. Unexpectedly, Winnie had already discovered that Darcy was Sophia’s backer.
Now she even had Sophia's confession. If those words were heard by Mr. L...
Darcy clenched her fists tightly. Since Winnie had found out about this, did she also have other evidence? Darcy started to wonder, the thought driving her mad with anger.
At this moment on the other side of town, L accompanied Winnie to the obstetrics department of the hospital for her four-month checkup.
Wearing a mask, L looked extremely dignified and exuded a strong aura, as usual. Undoubtedly, he attracted the attention of countless pregnant women along the way, completely overshadowing other husbands who were accompanying their wives for checkups.
Blushing, Winnie laid down on the bed as the doctor lifted her clothes to begin the exam. She noticed that he seemed reluctant to leave.
L's deep black gaze was fixed on her flat and slender waist, and her skin seemed as smooth as premium silk. L was somewhat transfixed by the sight of Winnie’s exposed body.
With such a slender waist it would be difficult for Winnie to deliver, fortunately, her hips were wide otherwise, he would genuinely worry about how the child would come out after five months.
Coughing to get his attention, Winnie gave him a serious glance, upon receiving a warning from the woman, L turned his head to look at the computer behind Winnie.
In a low voice, he asked, "Doctor, when will she start showing?"
The female doctor glanced at the first-time father and smiled, "Mr. L, you should ask Mrs. L about that. She is thin, and each pregnant woman's physique is different. You can encourage her to eat more."
"Hear that? You dare try to maintain your figure and deliberately not eat enough," L scolded displeasedly.
Winnie was speechless. She hadn't been trying to lose weight; her body simply didn't gain weight easily.
"Mrs. L, you should be able to feel slight fetal movements now." At this moment, the female doctor pressed on Winnie's belly and pointed at it. "The baby is here, moving like a little fish. If you feel any bubbles, that's the baby's movement."
Winnie was a bit slow to react, blinking her eyes and reaching out her hand. Was the baby really here? She continued to wonder.
She didn't feel anything. She shook her head subconsciously, at this sight L, who had been somewhat displeased, moved his large hand over the area. "Fool, let me feel!" he said.
His fingers were beautiful and powerful, covering her delicate waist, to the area Winnie’s hand had just been. Winnie's skin suddenly felt a little warm, with the heat from L’s hand.
The female doctor blushed and silently moved her hand back.
Of course, the man couldn't feel the baby's movements, but he didn't let go either. He kept his hand pressed against Winnie's belly, his fingers constantly igniting warmth on her body. Pregnant women were somewhat sensitive, and when Winnie saw him...
L had tried to stick his ear to listen, but Winnie glared at him again and spoke in a surprised tone, "What are you doing? L, the baby ran away, let go, the doctor is waiting."
Only then did L twist his head fiercely. The female doctor blushed and felt embarrassed, while the man snorted, "This sprout."
The ultrasound was over, and L helped Winnie up off the bed and onto her feet. He told her to wait outside for the ultrasound report and pictures.
Winnie went out and saw that the examination room door was gently closed behind her.
Inside the room, L's playful demeanor completely changed. He stared intently at the computer screen now showing the actual ultrasound, images of twins.
The female doctor also composed herself before asking him, "Mr. L, should I continue to show Mrs. L the ultrasound of the single fetus, or should I show her the one of the twins?"
L furrowed his brows deeply.
Winnie was carrying twins, it was discovered during the two-month prenatal check-up.
However, in the beginning, they had an agreement to get married. L was wary of her and afraid that she might want to take away one of the children after they were born. Moreover, he also had to guard against the Rodriguez family's side, claiming the children.
He had been lying to her, making her believe it was a single pregnancy. Now, things were different with her... They had genuine feelings for each other, so it was difficult to reveal the truth.
"Let's just consider it a surprise for her when the babies are born." The man smiled, and the female doctor understood his meaning.
The female doctor handed Winnie an ultrasound image of a single fetus.
Winnie looked at it carefully. It was so small that she couldn't tell if it resembled her or him.
She put the image in her pocket, and at that moment, Olivia sent a message: "Sophia and her daughter called Darcy's assistant."
Olivia had been monitoring this mother and daughter, for Winnie.
Winnie pursed her lips. That meant Darcy knew about Ava being kidnapped late at night.
She replied to Olivia, "Come to the hospital, let's start acting."
In a private hospital room, Luke processed L's discharge procedures. After being hospitalized for a week, the man had to return to the company right away. He frowned and looked at Winnie, "You go home after your check-up." He instructed Winnie.
"I have a few things to do. I'll go back after finishing. Come home early tonight, L. I have something to tell you." Was Winnie’s mysterious reply.
L didn't think too much about it. As he had a meeting in the afternoon, which preoccupied his thoughts.
After the man left, Winnie calmly packed his things. At that moment, Olivia walked in and handed Winnie a laptop bag, along with some documents.
They walked out of the room together, and Olivia glanced around and whispered, "Lymington Prison is far away. Do you want me to accompany you?" the concern in Olivia’s was genuine.
"But aren't you busy with work? Never mind." Winnie declined Olivia’s offer.
As they spoke, they entered the elevator and went downstairs. Winnie drove to Lymington Prison.
A figure emerged from the shadows after observing the two ladies and quickly made a call, "Darcy, Olivia gave Winnie a laptop bag and some documents. It's probably the evidence they've gathered. Now Winnie is going to the prison, probably to meet the worker's family..."
Apparently, Winnie also suspected that the worker had harmed her!
“In the hospital room just now, Winnie told Mr. L to come home early. She had something to say.” Jeffery relayed what he had heard to Darcy.
Darcy was thrown off guard. Under no circumstances could Winnie present any evidence to Mr. L. There was still time, Winnie hadn't said anything yet! She knew she had to act quick.
"Jeffery, find two people and kidnap Winnie on the way. I need to destroy that evidence!" Darcy said coldly.
Winnie arrived at the crossroads when she received a text message from Olivia. "Did you set up the tracking device and the bug, Winnie? I'm worried, it's too risky."
"Our evidence doesn't directly prove Darcy's guilt, we need something more convincing," Winnie said as her cold gaze swept over the car following behind her since she had left the Hospital.
At 4:30 in the afternoon.
L was in a meeting at The Imperial building, when Olivia called sounding anxious. "Mr. L, Winnie has been kidnapped!"
"What?" The tall man stood up, his face changing, completely confused.
