Chapter 8 Going to smash the place
Olivia brought her back to the present. "Hey, I mainly wanted to ask you about your mysterious husband!"
Winnie recalled his crude demand just now and felt embarrassed. "I didn't find out anything tonight, I only know that his surname is L."
"What about his 'size'?"
Winnie was about to say that she didn't know his age either when she suddenly realized what Olivia meant. "Olivia!"
Olivia laughed.
Winnie lowered her eyes in thought. "He seems to be quite wealthy."
Olivia narrowed her eyes, "If you say he's wealthy, then he must be. There are four major families in Lymington: the Rodriguez family, the Martin family, the Davis family and the Harrington family. That might be the initial of his family name, right? The Harrington family has two sons and you've met them both.
The Rodriguez family is more mysterious. It's a prestigious family. You've also met the young children of that family, right?"
"Yeah." Winnie had attended various banquets before and had seen the young masters of the Rodriguez family.
The way they looked and acted was completely different from the person in her company right now.
"Maybe an unregistered person? A big shot from the underground?" Olivia's words were becoming more and more fantastical.
Winnie couldn't be bothered to listen anymore. She lowered her head and looked at the news.
The burial ceremony that was previously trending on the news had gained attention again. She smirked, "Olivia, did you do this?"
"Yeah, isn't that my specialty? Miss Smith is also rich, but she doesn't like spending money. She just loves competing with the Anderson family in terms of technology!"
Winnie felt helpless, but she knew that Matthew's methods were not simple!
She was tired. She talked to Olivia a bit more and prepared to take a shower.
Just then, Mr. L casually entered the room!
Winnie was surprised. She thought they would sleep in separate rooms tonight.
She looked at him warily. "Mr. L, why are you here?"
He unbuttoned his shirt carefully. The diamond buttons were striking.
He looked at the master bedroom and frowned. "Smells good."
"..."
"Also, this is my room." He raised an eyebrow.
"..."
Winnie grabbed her pajamas and was about to rush out of the door.
When she stooped down to pick up her phone, she saw that the page had opened to Olivia's message. She accidentally tapped on the video Olivia had sent.
It was marked "profile." Winnie had thought it was a jewelry design, but the sound on the video was… strange.
Winnie suddenly looked down and her face flushed. 'What is Olivia doing?!'
She tried to turn it off. But in her panic, she had increased the volume of the video!
Winnie was speechless.
Mr. L raised an eyebrow at her, looking interested.
Winnie jumped on the bed and covered herself with a blanket to muffle the sounds from the phone. But she could still hear it.
He looked at her. Only the tip of her nose peeked out from the blanket. "Mrs. L, what exactly are you watching in my bed?"
"Nothing! It's a… Jewelry-related video! "
Winnie tried hard to close the video. She blushed even redder.
"Since it's about jewelry, why don't we watch it together?" he asked teasingly.
"..."
How could he be so brazen? Winnie wondered if he had seen it.
"I... it's for people who make jewelries. Mr. L, you probably won't understand it," she said awkwardly.
He looked at her. "Oh, I understand it very well," he said with a chuckle.
He slowly leaned into the blanket and whispered, "It seems you are very attentive to my words. You are already starting to learn that? Very good."
Winnie was speechless.
He picked up the phone and turned it off. "If your mother comes for a visit, you can sleep on the bed, and I'll take the sofa."
Winnie was too embarrassed to say anything. She got up, took her phone, and hurried to the washroom.
She wanted to give Olivia a piece of her mind.
Olivia sent a message: "Hey, did you watch the video? I think that no matter who your mysterious husband is, you two are still husband and wife. You need to learn some 'skills.'"
Winnie was so angry that she blocked Olivia.
Winnie cautiously left the washroom after a while. Only the beside lamp was on. She noticed him lying on the sofa with a mask on. She suddenly had the urge to sneak around and find out who he really was...
She heard people outside the door. Winnie assumed it was Madam Rodriguez. She hurriedly got into the bed.
In the darkness, he opened his eyes and looked at the woman in the bed. He felt fine now.
He suffered from insomnia which made him sleepwalk and often hallucinate. He hadn't been able to sleep for a long time. Someone had saved his life and cured him a few years ago, but it had relapsed.
The night she had got into his car, he had fallen asleep miraculously. As long as she was by his side, he could fall asleep without any problem.
He looked at her with curiosity.

The next morning, Winnie woke up to a call from Olivia. She sounded was frantic. "Winnie, the Anderson family found out about your pregnancy!"
Winnie was still sleepy, but the news jolted her awake. Once the Anderson family found out, she could imagine it becoming a major headline...
Sure enough, the news caused a tremendous impact in the public. The Anderson family slandered her with evidence.
[Winnie Anderson is two weeks pregnant. It's suspected that she was assaulted by bandits in the mountains which resulted in severe physical and emotional trauma.
Winnie's father revealed that she had suffered from neurasthenia before and needed to take medication for it because of which she couldn't work. That was the reason that she signed her will early.]
The Anderson family displayed the will signed by Winnie herself!

Winnie closed her eyes. Since they couldn't frame her and send her to jail, they came up with something like this to slander her. They claimed she was unfit to run the Triton Company. Her words at the funeral would hold no weight after this.
She looked at the photos of Ava and Daniel from the City Halol. They would be assumed to be innocent in all this again.
"Winnie, is that signature really yours? The document is for the change of ownership of the Eternity Jewelry Co.!"
Winnie enlarged the signature to see it more clearly. She felt a chill down her spine. "Daniel tricked me into signing a blank paper before the incident. I trusted him! I never thought he would do something like this!"
"Now, the company legally belongs to Ava. She has become the second largest shareholder. She's sitting on your empire and sleeping with your man, while accusing you of being mentally unfit! The Anderson family wants to completely destroy you!" Olivia gritted her teeth in hatred.
Winnie chuckled dryly. "It's not so easy for someone to take over my empire. Today is the shareholders' meeting of Triton. I'm not dead yet, so why would this take effect?"
"You're right. Winnie. Let's go and mess up this meeting!" said Olivia.
