Chapter 705 Negotiation

A bunch of folks took off, and the cell door slammed shut.

Olivia just stood there, totally shell-shocked.

Jeremy was poisoned. His screams kept bouncing off the walls, full of agony, making her heart feel like it was in a vice.

She figured that after getting shot, Jeremy must've jumped into the ocean to get away. With all that bleeding, he probably attracted some freaky poisonous sea critters.

He got bit, and after the danger passed, he lost his memory and the poison took effect.

Her mind slowly started to clear up, and she began to piece together the messy clues in front of her. 'Obviously, Loren is definitely Jeremy's relative, and he cares a lot about Jeremy. That day, Sam came to Trento City to mess with me and accidentally let slip that Jeremy's family is pretty powerful, maybe even tight with the President. Sam bragged that he would get Lawrence thrown in jail. And he actually did it. The Trento City cops were pressured by the President's side and had to arrest Lawrence. So, Loren, Jeremy's uncle, is either loaded, powerful, or both! Now, Loren is hiding Jeremy here and wait for him to recover. He thinks I'm here to hurt Jeremy. How can I get out of here? Right now, my only option is to get close to Jeremy, find a way to restore his memory, and explain everything to Loren so we can leave. Plus, if Lawrence can't find Jeremy, he'll be accused of murder. And I miss Mia so much.'

Olivia stood up with red eyes, feeling both wronged and anxious. She looked around the cell, wondering how to escape and see Jeremy. She really wanted to know if he was okay.

The urgent task was to cure him and make him remember her.

Olivia anxiously paced around and suddenly saw a vent on the cell wall. Her eyes lit up!

Trento City, the Jenkins Family mansion.

Bentley drove back.

As soon as he got out of the car, he saw Lawrence standing straight at his door, clearly having waited for a long time.

Bentley raised an eyebrow, thinking about whether to bail now or head inside.

"Mr. Jenkins," Lawrence called out coldly.

"Mr. Rodriguez, what brings you here?" Bentley had no choice but to get out of the car and walked over with a gentlemanly demeanor.

Listening to his teasing, Lawrence said calmly, "Mr. Jenkins, now everyone in Trento City avoids me. I thought that although we didn't get along before, we were at least evenly matched friends. Do you have to mock me?"

"Mr. Rodriguez, I'm just used to calling you that." Bentley touched his nose, and said sincerely, "Besides, in my opinion, the current top young man of Veridiania, Mars, is far inferior to you."

Lawrence nodded, "The Jenkins Family, the Rodriguez Family, the Blanchet Family, these three families are all prestigious. The descendants cultivated by the three, regardless of their methods, at least have upright character and conduct. It's natural that you look down on Mars's behavior."

Bentley studied Lawrence's expressionless face, thinking that Lawrence was indeed a good negotiator. He squinted his eyes and smiled, "I won't make a comment on him. Now it's the winner's world, and I think you also realize this. If there's nothing else, then I'll..."

"Bentley, I'll cut to the chase. I'm here to win you over for some real estate cooperation," Lawrence stared at him.

Bentley frowned and waved his hand dismissively, his words cutting, "Lawrence, I respect you, but the current Rodriguez Group has no room for a partnership with me. Plus, you're not the first to come knocking. Mars has tried both threats and sweet talk. If his talk worked, I'd have helped Mars by now and completely wiped out what's left of the Rodriguez Group. I'm not getting involved in your beef. The Jenkins Group doesn't need to lean on anyone, and no one should think they can lean on us." His words were sharp and merciless.

Lawrence's thick eyebrows stayed calm, his eyes sharp with a hint of a smile. "The Jenkins Family, being the second most powerful in Veridiania, has the right to say that. But you know as well as I do, if the Peterson Group swallows the Rodriguez Group, who do you think Ronnie will target next? Especially since the Jenkins Group doesn't play ball with him? Ronnie's a petty guy. He's been gunning for the Rodriguez Group for thirty years. You think he won't eventually come after the Jenkins Family? Actually, the Jenkins Group should get this the most. You don't want to become the next Rodriguez Family, do you?"

"If I don't want my family to become the next Rodriguez Family, I have to help you rise?" Bentley's casual eyes flashed with a sneer. "Mr. Rodriguez, we're all veterans in the business world. Your bluff won't work for me"

Lawrence curled his lips. Despite Bentley's usual gentle demeanor, as Bob said, he was indeed formidable, leading the Jenkins Group so well at a young age.

Lawrence squinted his eyes and said, "I'm not asking Mr. Jenkins to help me for free. I'm asking Mr. Jenkins to choose between me and Mars. After all, in the future, either I will fail, or Mars will. Mr. Jenkins, you may think you can remain neutral, but sooner or later, it will affect you. I can promise you now, if you stand by me, I won't touch a single penny of the Jenkins Family in the future. But Mars, be careful. It's not that you can't beat him, but that he might cling to you."

Bentley squinted his eyes hard as he thought, 'I have to admit, Lawrence is a qualified threat and persuader, hitting my concerns. I can remain neutral now, but over time, the Peterson Group will definitely find an excuse to trouble the Jenkins Group. If I remain neutral, I will still provoke Ronnie. It might be better to stand by Lawrence's side. At least I appreciate Lawrence's methods. He is much better than Mars. As long as Lawrence doesn't die, it is only a matter of time before he rises again. But I still don't want to be easily persuaded by Lawrence.'

Bentley coldly laughed, looking unmoved.

At that moment, a beautiful child ran out from inside the house. She looked at Bentley, then at the even more handsome Lawrence beside him, pouting, "Daddy, why are you and the uncle standing outside being punished?"

'Is she talking about me?' Lawrence thought before he turned his head and saw a little girl who looked just like Bentley. His face darkened.

Bentley glanced at the innocent Anna and couldn't help but laugh, "Mr. Rodriguez, I'm sorry for my daughter's mistake."

"Your daughter? No wonder you look so alike." Lawrence didn't realize Bentley had a daughter at such a young age, but he remained very composed.
