Chapter 875 Suddenly Fainting
Winnie checked the time; it was past eleven. "Lena, didn't Olivia go to the hospital?"
"Olivia said she didn't need to go," Lena shrugged. "You know how she is, always trying to tough it out. Maybe you can talk to her tomorrow morning. She should be asleep by now."
Winnie nodded and didn't call again.
The next morning.
Unexpectedly, Olivia called first, sounding quite energetic. "Winnie, have you been so caught up with Lawrence that you forgot? It's Monday, we have to go to work. In the battle against Rock, I played a significant role too. You should put in a good word for me with Mr. Rodriguez and help me get some bonus."
"I don't need an important position at the Blanchet Group, just a small role in the IT department with some extra employee benefits."
Winnie couldn't help but laugh at her cheerful tone. "Your stomach doesn't hurt anymore? Lena and Elliott said you weren't feeling well last night, and I was a bit worried."
"What's there to worry about? I slept it off. It was probably just some bad takeout! So, do you agree to my job application or not?"
Winnie squinted. "How could I not agree?
Today, you'll officially start as a team leader in the IT department at the Blanchet Group. From now on, whenever the Blanchet Group needs hacking skills, we'll rely on you. Is that okay?"
Olivia laughed, "That's great. After dealing with Rock, I'll be living under your protection. Once things are stable and I make some money, I'll buy my own house and bring my parents over, far away from all the drama in Lymington!"
Winnie knew she was referring to the rumors and ostracism the Smith Family had faced over the past three years.
Three years ago, she had wronged Olivia so much.
Not only should she help her get a job, but even giving her all her assets wouldn't be enough to make up for it.
But Olivia was very proud and wouldn't accept it, nor could she mention compensation.
She sighed inwardly and joked, "From now on, we'll rely on each other for the rest of our lives, no more stinky men."
"Exactly! And we have to include Laura too!"
Winnie was silent for a moment. "We haven't been in touch with her for a year. Did she have that baby or not? Ray came to Trento City a few months ago, and it seemed like they were divorced by then. Lawrence doesn't know much about Ray's personal life. Laura left the Martin Family, and I hope Benjamin is still looking out for her."
Olivia was indignant. "Laura went on a trip half a year ago. Ever since Darcy was abandoned by Lawrence and monitored in a hospital in Lymington, and Ray kept trying to care for her, Laura's heart completely broke."
She continued, "She left after the divorce and cut off contact with me for the past six months. I don't think she would have Ray's child, especially since Ray is even worse than Lawrence!"
Ray was so controlled by Darcy that Winnie didn't even want to describe him.
They were silent for a moment before Olivia said, "Once things settle down here in Trento City, we need to find Laura."
"Of course, we can't abandon her. But she hasn't asked us for help, which means she can handle it on her own. Maybe Benjamin is by her side."
Olivia took a deep breath. "If she can accept Benjamin, that would actually be a good thing. Benjamin is simple and reliable, and he's had a crush on her for so many years. It would be great."
"We'll plan it out later. It's getting late. Come over, and I'll give you a ride to work." Winnie smiled as she looked out the window.
Olivia lived in the building next door.
At that moment, Mia's crying voice came through the phone, "Mommy! I wet the bed. I didn't mean to, but there's also a little poop. I couldn't hold it in when I farted."
Winnie was silent. Mia was so adorable!
Come to think of it, Winnie had never dealt with Oscar wetting the bed. Oscar had been very self-sufficient since he was little and never gave her the chance.
"You dare say you couldn't hold it in when you farted? I think you just ate too much! Why did you eat all the food Lena brought last night? Your stomach is still round."
"Mia, do you want to get really fat? Let's see who will like you then. Sidney and Oscar don't like chubby kids!" Olivia's angry voice came through intermittently.
Winnie found it amusing and heard Mia crying even louder. She quickly said, "Olivia, Mia is not even three years old. She's at the age to eat and play. Why are you scolding her?"
"She's already way overweight!"
"So what if I'm chubby! Mommy, you dislike me! Fine! Even if the whole world doesn't love me, Jeremy will. That'll make you mad! Jeremy told me to eat more and said I should be chubby. He can afford it. I'm his little pearl, always number one in his heart." Mia defiantly declared that she was loved!
Winnie and Olivia were both speechless.
Olivia didn't want to mention Jeremy. For the past ten days, she had been avoiding him because of the Rock situation, trying hard to push him out of her mind.
What now? He was still getting close to Mia, making her unable to forget him?
Winnie was intrigued. "Mia, did Jeremy really say that to you? You're number one in his heart?"
"Of course! He even kissed me and said he wished I were his daughter so all problems could be solved. I don't really understand what he meant, but he seemed so unhappy at the time." Mia pouted.
Olivia suddenly froze, her heart pounding.
At this moment, Winnie's low voice came through the phone, "Olivia, Jeremy said this to Mia behind your back? What is he thinking? He wishes Mia were his daughter, not Sam's."
"I..." Olivia was at her wit's end and didn't want to think about it anymore. "Alright, Winnie, you go to the office first. I'll wash Mia up and change the sheets. I'll take a cab."
"Olivia, don't avoid this."
"I'm not avoiding it! Jeremy and Lynn are doing fine now, Winnie. Stop overthinking it, okay? He doesn't have those feelings. If he does, it's just to mess with me without any responsibility!" Olivia interrupted angrily.
It seemed Olivia and Jeremy were in a bad place, so Winnie didn't dare say more. "Alright, come to the office later. Don't be late."
"Of course."
At ten in the morning, Winnie finished the company meeting and returned to her office.
The HR manager came in to ask if they should prepare Olivia's employee ID.
Winnie checked the time. Olivia hadn't arrived yet? She said she wouldn't be late. Winnie picked up her phone and called Olivia.
But it was Mia who answered, crying in a panic. "Winnie! Mommy fainted while hanging the clothes. What should I do? I tried to push her, but she won't move."
"What?" Olivia was fine this morning.
