Chapter 93 A Date with Him

Darcy got into the car, and after a while, she leaned back against the seat, letting out a deep laugh. Winnie clearly had her guard up against her, but she was guarding against the wrong thing. It's not wrong of her though, Darcy amused herself at the thought.

If Winnie were to accept the two female suppliers affiliated with Imperial, it would be easy for Darcy to sabotage her in the future. But right now, what she wanted was for Winnie to decline.

There were only a few diamond suppliers in Lymington, and these two were the only female CEOs. The rest were all men, a fact that Darcy had long been aware of. If Winnie refused the assistance from the two suppliers Darcy provided, she would be compelled to collaborate with one of the male CEOs.

The phone rang. Darcy answered and the person on the other end spoke, "Darcy, Winnie has called for a meeting at the company and has already contacted a male classmate from university who is a raw stone dealer for jewelry companies."

Darcy chuckled softly to herself. How convenient, a young male classmate. Mr. L will certainly not be pleased by Winnie's choices.

As dusk fell and the evening began to approach, neon lights illuminate the night. At the entrance of the Triton Company, a low-profile Bentley stopped in front of the plaza, exuding dominance.

Winnie emerged promptly, casting a glance at the luxurious car and immediately thinking of the man inside. A faint blush stained her cheeks. Today, he had mentioned about taking her out to dinner.

Luke immediately opened the door for Winnie. He teased her, "Is it a date, Ms. Winnie?" Winnie chuckled and entered. The car swiftly drove away, leaving a solemn Daniel standing on the steps of the company building. His gaze remained fixed on the rear of the car, his eyes filled with a complexity of emotions.

Through the crack of the door that was opened for Winnie to get in, he caught a glimpse of that masked, imposing man. That was a limited-edition Bentley, and Winnie even said that the man who saved her that night was the man in this car.

The man beside her, wearing a mask, was indeed the powerful Lawrence. Daniel clenched his fist, experiencing envy and powerlessness simultaneously. Once Winnie got into the car, she observed the man furrowing his brows as he examined documents.

She pouted instinctively, thinking she looked better than those papers. She casually took off her trench coat. The composed man beside her snorted somewhat coldly. "Could you stop seducing me while I'm working?"

"Seduce you?" She looked surprised at his comment. The man raised his dark gaze and scanned her briefly.

Her bosom was prominent, and her backside was curvy. His Adam's apple rolled as he spoke, saying, "Don't you know how attractive you still are?"

Winnie's face turned red. "You can just not look at me."

"It's hard not to catch a glimpse of you." The man faintly smiled.

Winnie felt a warmth in her heart. "Alright, I'll make an effort not to bother you then."

He then put away the documents and his handsome features darkened. He maturely beckoned to her, "Come here."

The woman moved closer, nestling closer to him.

Today, she was dressed formally. She wore a windbreaker, a small sweater, pencil pants, and a pair of debutante shoes revealing her delicate arches.

Winnie also looked at him. As usual, the man donned his unaltered suit, appearing tall and dignified. He had on a khaki suit vest over his refined white shirt, coordinating with her windbreaker. They resembled an elite couple. Her red lips radiated warmth, even more tender and supple. When she approached him, she heard his deep voice say, "Let me hold you."

She rested against his sturdy leg. Mr. L observed her face, unlike the artificially sculpted faces prevalent these days. She possessed her own distinctive beauty, captivating, and it was undeniably genuine.

The warm hand of the man tilted her chin and he hoarsely said, "Kiss me."

Winnie grabbed his white shirt, her heart pounding. With a red face, she glanced at Luke, who seemed to be nonexistent before her. She quickly pecked his handsome profile.

"Why do you smell so good?" The man held her slim waist, his breath brushed against her neck. He played with her long hair naughtily. "In the past, when I said a woman smells good or not, I had to get close to smell and find out. Now that I'm close, I can't resist it."

"Don't talk nonsense." Winnie blushed, glaring at him.

"It's because of this fragrance that you go around in the company, attracting men?" He furrowed his brows, somewhat displeased.

Winnie was speechless. "Is your mind as shallow as a puddle?"

"As long as it's bigger somewhere else." He smirked wickedly and then coldly said, "I don't want you to go out and work, attracting attention and stirring up trouble for me."

Winnie's neck turned red. She thought he was probably concerned about her and Daniel being in the same company. She hugged his arm, trying to please him. "I have my own career. Besides, I'm interested in you. We're already in a relationship. What else are you worried about? I only have you in my heart."

Her voice sounded tender and she imitated his way of speaking from last night. His expression slightly improved instantly.

'Men really need to be fooled' Winnie thought silently while tugging at his sturdy arm. "Where should we go for dinner?"

Luke responded, "Mr. L has booked the top Russian restaurant in Lymington for your dinner reservation."

The woman suddenly pointed at a brightly lit shop by the roadside. "Ah, I want to eat that grilled hotdog. Can we go and have that instead?"

"But, the Russian restaurant..." Luke was lost for words.

Mr. L on the other hand nonchalantly said, "Well, if you really prefer the grilled hotdog, we can change the reservation."

Glancing at the red tent full of dust on the roadside, his face turned icy. Winnie also noticed his displeased expression.

In the past, as a debutante, she rarely ate hot dogs. Occasionally, she would come out with Olivia to eat them. It's a good thing he never caught them because if he had, he would have been jealous.

"Come on." Winnie tried to convince him.

"I'm not going. I absolutely won't let my child eat junk food."

"But it's your child who wants to eat it. I've been having morning sickness for days, and you don't even feel sorry for me." Winnie attributed it to her pregnancy and her mouth was watering.

Observing his indifference, she blinked back tears, her eyes turning red. She whimpered in grievance, "You don't love me anymore, and you don't love your baby either."

Mr. L felt irritated by her whimpering and maintained a cold expression. Love affairs were troublesome, especially with someone younger, and now he had to coax her too. The man exited the car with a stern face, taking long strides.

Winnie was happy and walked across the street. She didn't choose a roadside stall because she was afraid of being scolded by him. She chose a hot dog stall on the street instead.

The dignified and tall man stood by the roadside, undoubtedly a mature and stern sight. Countless passersby were looking at him. Mr. L glanced up and read the sign on the stall. "Love Hot Dog Stall."

He slightly curved his thin lips and reached out to tap the woman's nose mischievously. He said with a wicked tone, "You women are full of ideas, even for a meal with me, it has to involve love."

"Well sure, the name of this place is Love Hot Dog Stall. But haven't you been out to eat before? If you look around, you'll see that this kind of name is quite common."

Mr. L's face froze for a moment. "Of course, I know. We can visit the Love Hotel later," he replied mischievously.

They walked into the makeshift tent by the hot dog stall. He didn't want to sit and wore a disgusted expression until Winnie pulled him to sit by the window. She carefully wiped the table and chairs one more time. She said helplessly, "Just endure it for the sake of your girlfriend, okay?"

As soon as she mentioned girlfriend, he looked ambiguously at her and Winnie blushed a bit. She immediately called Luke, "Luke, please join us too."

Luke was about to take a seat cautiously, but upon encountering Mr. L's menacing glare, he was swiftly reminded of the fact that this person was still the CEO of Imperial Jewelry. In an instant, he jumped up like a spring flower coming into bloom.

"He doesn't like eating junk food, so he should go to the neighboring stall and eat fried rice instead," Mr. L coldly, glad he finally managed to arrange a meeting without any disturbances.

Luke silently thought, 'He doesn't like eating fried rice either.'
