Chapter 618 Honeymoon

Winnie, her cheeks flushed and pale as if struck, glared at him with disdain. "Who do you think you're calling your wife? Do I need to remind you once more? I am Rock's wife. Your future wife is Ishara in Trento City. Our actions are unlawful, and you will inevitably face consequences."

If she couldn't resist him, she would make it a point to annoy him whenever and wherever possible, disrupting his sense of self-righteousness.

When Rock's name was brought up, a flicker of tenderness passed through Lawrence's eyes, followed by a fleeting glimpse of madness.

However, he quickly regained his composure and spoke in a calm, indulgent tone, saying, "Don't try to provoke me, Winnie.

After last night, you belong to me completely. If tormenting me brings you joy, then so be it." Winnie felt like she was talking to a brick wall.

Overwhelmed with helplessness, she couldn't contain herself and blurted out, "I don't want to torment you, please! I just want to get away from you. I hate you! I can't stand you!"

His eyes darkened briefly before he looked at her with a wicked smile. "Yes, you hate me, but your actions last night told a different story. We complement each other; it's a natural fit. You are familiar with and addicted to pleasing me."

Nonsense.

Winnie's cold expression quickly turned red with anger. He twisted her words, crushing her self-esteem. She felt the urge to lash out at his cold demeanor. Winnie was extremely uneasy and shouted, "Stop with the nonsense. You drugged me!"

Lawrence took a deep breath, his voice hoarse, "It was a mistake to drug you, but your body doesn't lie. If it didn't remember me so well, it wouldn't have grown accustomed to me like this. Sweetheart, wouldn't it be better to follow what your body truly desires?"

He then lowered his head and affectionately kissed the tip of her nose.

Winnie didn't flinch but coldly replied, "The body is merely driven by animal instincts. I was content with Rock as well. Your demeanor can't compare to his gentle ways. You're just controlling and oppressive."

"Don't you dare to say that again!" Lawrence hissed, his voice strangled with suppressed fury. His eyes were far from tranquil, and in a sudden move, he gripped her cheeks with one hand, his loss of control evident as he pinched her face into a fiery red.

"Don't provoke me. Winnie, swear to me that you never slept with him." He was filled with pain.

Winnie gazed into his sinister eyes, her breath trembling, but she defiantly held his gaze. "Think logically," she said. "I've been with him for nearly a month. It's common for engaged couples to live together before getting married, isn't it?"

"Shut up." Lawrence's hostility began to surge, his eyes terrifying, staring down at her. Winnie, I love you. Why do you have to test me like this? You can challenge me without being so harsh. I can't handle it. I don't want to cause you pain. I'm doing my best to move past what happened between you and Rock."

Winnie was stunned by his shouting. His bloodshot eyes were terrifying.

The fear she had felt last night rose again, and suddenly regretted it. If she angered him and his hysteria erupted, she wouldn't stand a chance on this damn island. She couldn't afford to miscalculate like this.

She choked back her tears and asked, Wasn't the damage from last night sufficient? Are you going to handle me roughly again? Oh, I forgot, you're unpredictable. Fine, I'm just a puppet to you now; you can treat me however you please!"

Lawrence was struck by Winnie's glistening tears, feeling utterly helpless. He urgently cupped her face, planting a gentle kiss on her lips. "I could never bring harm to you. Despite my flaws, I am a man above all else. All I desire is to love you, how could I ever cause you harm? Do not entertain misunderstandings. I will treasure you for eternity. Winnie, deep down, I have never been involved with Ishara; I have not betrayed you! Whether you choose to believe it or not. But as for you and Rock... consider it my penance for failing you and striving to make things right. Let us refrain from mentioning him from now on."

As his thin lips left her mouth, he draped a thick bathrobe over her, his deep eyes revealing a hint of coldness, and then he beckoned the butler to come in.

The butler came in, holding a glass of water and a small pill, a white pill on top.

The small shape made Winnie's eyes pause. Lawrence picked up the pill, his gaze icy and slightly cold as he handed it to her. "Winnie, take this pill."

Winnie looked at him, hesitant to take it, asking, "What is it?"

"It's a contraceptive pill," Lawrence said.

She guessed right! But her heart trembled. Last night, he had insisted she compensate with a child, so why give her a pill now?

Lawrence seemed to read her mind, gripping her hand tightly as he spoke sternly. "While we were intimate last night, as you just acknowledged, and you and Rock... maybe something transpired between you two in Lymington a few days ago. To be safe, I can't allow you to conceive a child with someone else's seed. You will only bear my child!"

Winnie chuckled at his flawed reasoning.

Although she and Rock had entered the realm of marriage, Rock hadn't even kissed her, let alone anything else. She felt guilty even thinking about Rock.

Initially, things had moved too fast for them to adapt. Now, she regretted it deeply. Her face, tense and pale, faced the man's humiliation without anger. Despite not having engaged in any activities, she hastily took the pill as a precautionary measure to eliminate any possibility of pregnancy from the previous night.

She would never get pregnant again. Dealing with a man who had a child with Ishara and was Unsure of his intentions, she couldn't take the risk.

These days happened to coincide with her fertile period, and she knew she had to escape immediately. Concealing her determination in her gaze, she swallowed the pills and coldly confronted the man.

"Why are you still here? I've taken the pills. Aren't you leaving?" Lawrence's handsome face softened as he hung up the clothes on the bathroom rack and said, "Get dressed and come downstairs. I'll make breakfast for you."

Once his tall figure descended the stairs, Winnie leaned against the door, feeling numb as she took a deep breath. Returning to the bathroom, she opened her bathrobe and noticed the bruises on her body, clenching her fists in anger against the sink.

Hot water flowed down, mixing with her tears. She raised her head blankly, her mind in a mess, thinking of her two sons, thinking of Rock.

Somehow, the man's words floated back into her mind. 'Winnie, deep down, I have never touched Ishara. I have not betrayed you!'

'Was it true? His eyes were so serious and cold when he spoke. But how could Ishara be pregnant with his child? How did it happen? Ishara seemed so sure it was his seed. She wasn't afraid of a paternity test! Forget it, I shouldn't trust the scumbag.' Winnie thought.

Disappointed by his repeated betrayals, Winnie shook her head, pushing aside thoughts of futility.

She swiftly dressed and descended the stairs silently, the mansion's vastness evident as she entered the excessively large living room.

Bypassing the dining room in search of him, she navigated her way to the backyard, determined to assess her surroundings and reach out for help.

Discovering that the servants resided there, Winnie approached a group of middle-aged maids with a smile, extending her hand. "Hello, my phone got wet. Could I borrow yours?
