Chapter 768 Angelina's Party

"I wasn't being clingy, was I?" Lawrence certainly wouldn't admit it. His tactics were too embarrassing. He coughed, "And your mommy wasn't impatient or annoyed with me either."

Oscar was speechless. "Anyone can see she's annoyed with you."

"No, what I see is that she's afraid of falling for me again and is deliberately pushing me away," Lawrence insisted.

Oscar fell silent.

This was like trying to wake someone who was dreaming.

Lawrence sighed and lectured Oscar, "Oscar, you don't understand the feelings between men and women yet. After all, you're still young and don't know what love is like. To be honest, Daddy realized it too late, but when I saw your mommy in danger, I couldn't let go."

"Danger?" Oscar frowned.

Lawrence looked seriously at Oscar, who was much more clear-headed than Sidney.

He hinted, "I know you might have some feelings for Rock. But he's not a good person, Oscar. You have a keen eye. Look closely. The adult world is very complicated, and deceitful people aren't easy to see through."

"You think Rock is a bad person? He's deceitful?" Oscar frowned.

Lawrence tried to turn Oscar as well. "You're smart. Observe more. I believe you'll see it. Adults' badness doesn't show on their faces. Men like Daddy, who are openly bad, are rare."

Oscar was silent.

Lawrence lowered his voice, "Your mommy is the heiress of the Blanchet Group, one of the top three companies in Trento City. Naturally, there will be deceitful and scheming people around her. Among these people, there might be those who have been hiding for a long time, like Rock."

Oscar's eyes turned cold.

Olivia had also spoken ill of Rock.

Oscar fell into a bit of confusion. It seemed he needed to secretly observe Rock.

"But you kids shouldn't get involved to avoid danger. Daddy will persuade your mommy to divorce Rock," Lawrence said coldly.

"From what I saw earlier, you didn't seem to succeed," Oscar said.

Lawrence fell silent.

Soon, Winnie came out with Sidney after their bath and saw the silent father and son. "Oscar, what's going on with you two?"

"Nothing." Lawrence said, "I was teaching Oscar some life lessons. Bad people need to be watched out for. Don't be like me, realizing mistakes too late. It's hard to make amends and win back the one he loves."

He looked at her gently and helplessly.

Winnie understood his implication. Paired with his pitifully handsome face, she almost wanted to kick him. But since he was so self-aware, she didn't bother to say anything but agreed, "That's good. Otherwise, when you two grow up, Oscar might learn to be a bad man like you."

Lawrence gave her a resentful look. Was she really giving him no face?

"Let's go. I'll take you back." Lawrence quickly changed the subject. "By the way, Winnie, are you free tomorrow night? We need to find a good kindergarten for our sons."

"I have plans tomorrow." Winnie knew what he meant and refused outright. She could find a kindergarten herself.

"With whom? Rock?"

Lawrence's features turned cold and dark in the night.

Winnie knew what he had just reminded her of and awkwardly explained. "He said Mr. Harper invited him and me to Ms. Harper's party. Didn't Ms. Harper invite you?"

Winnie asked jealously.

"I'm not even familiar with Angelina." Lawrence quickly distanced himself.

Winnie raised an eyebrow. She didn't say anything more.

The next day, during his lunch break, Lawrence took his two sons back to the Rodriguez Family.

Just as he was leaving the villa community, a pink sports car blocked his way.

Angelina stepped out of the car in playful high heels. "Mr. Rodriguez, I've been to your company several times looking for you, but you were never there. This time, I finally waited for you at your house!"

She smiled and ran over, her high-end dress cute and sexy, like a fluttering butterfly, very youthful.

Lawrence glanced at her expressionlessly, thinking of Winnie attending her party, and paused.

"Mr. Rodriguez, are you deliberately avoiding me? I don't believe you never go to the office. You don't even answer my calls!" Angelina pouted and tried to link arms with Lawrence.

Lawrence coldly withdrew his arm. "Ms. Harper, do you know what self-respect is?"

"Why so serious? Mr. Rodriguez, I like you. Why should I be self-respecting when I like someone?" Angelina pouted playfully. "Besides, today is the day I'm hosting a party to celebrate my return. Can't you give me a smile? I'm here to invite you to my party."

Lawrence stared coldly ahead. "Thank you, but I won't go."

"Why are you so cold to me? But I like your aloof personality. It's very challenging!" Angelina said as she pulled an invitation from her bag and stuffed it into Lawrence's muscular chest. She wanted to feel those muscles, but Lawrence stepped back.

Angelina pouted, "You must come. You're my most important guest! If you don't come, I don't mind asking my dad to give the Rodriguez Group some trouble."

Lawrence's eyes turned cold, and his expression changed slightly.

Angelina boldly tempted him, "Besides, you probably want Adam's cooperation. You wouldn't want me to badmouth you to Adam and cause you trouble, would you?"

The Rodriguez Group was at a critical juncture. If any procedural issues arose, the consequences would be dire.

Lawrence didn't need help but feared trouble from a spoiled girl like Angelina.

His face turned icy as he looked at Angelina.

Angelina's heart trembled slightly, but she showed no fear. "Anyway, I'll be waiting for you."

With that, she blinked and walked back to her car, driving away.

Lawrence's brows furrowed with deep disgust. However, glancing at the invitation on the ground, he thought of Winnie attending the party. It seemed the event wouldn't be boring after all.

Would Winnie get jealous if she saw him there?

At dusk, when the lights first came on.

Angelina's party was held at a three-story villa hotel.

Winnie appeared in the banquet hall with Rock, wearing a low-key, intellectual beige dress.

Tonight, Angelina was undoubtedly the star, so Winnie consciously avoided the spotlight, hiding her beauty to avoid Angelina's displeasure.

The guests tonight weren't as numerous as at Adam's party, but there were still over a dozen, mostly young people who seemed to be Angelina's high-ranking friends.
