Chapter 662 Mars Looks for Sam

Sam snapped back, "You son of a bitch!"

Mars squinted and grabbed Sam by the neck. "Did I hear you right? Your DeRoss family has connections with the President?"

"So what if we do? Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Mars. The General Manager of the Peterson Group, the top company in Veridiania. We've had our eye on your family for a while. Jeremy went missing, right? Your dad sent you to Trento City to find him, didn't he?"

Mars smirked. "I know all about it. Lawrence had Jeremy killed. His cousin, the second son of the Rodriguez family, ambushed Jeremy and shot him at a factory."

"What?" Sam's face turned red with rage. "So the rumors were true? The Rodriguez family did it? Jeremy treated Lawrence like a brother, and this is how he repays him?"

"He might not be dead yet, but the longer it drags on, the more dangerous it gets," Mars said, eyes gleaming. "Do you want to force Lawrence to reveal Jeremy's whereabouts?"

"Of course I do!" Sam thought about how he could finally prove himself to his family. He was a gambling addict who had almost lost everything. If he could handle this, maybe Louis would trust him with family affairs, and the money would start rolling in.

Mars had done his homework. He knew all about Sam's useless nature. "I can help you with this. But you have to do exactly as I say."

Mars leaned in, his voice barely a whisper. "Didn't you say your family has connections with the President? Use that to help me, and I'll pay off your billion-dollar gambling debt."

Sam's eyes widened.

"And I'll give you an extra five hundred million to start a business and regain your status in the DeRoss family," Mars added.

To a gambler, money was everything. Sam thought it over. 'This wouldn't be too hard,' he calculated. "Alright, Mr. Martin, as long as you keep your word, I'll do as you say. Lawrence owes Jeremy a life."

That evening, Winnie and Olivia returned to the villa. Oscar was back too.

Winnie was thrilled. "Oscar, why are you back? When did you get here?"

Oscar blinked. After Winnie had driven Ishara out of the Blanchet family, Ishara and Eleanor were struggling. Oscar didn't have to pretend to stay at Leo's house anymore, but he couldn't say that.

"I heard from Sidney that you were sick. I was worried about you, Mom, so I came home to check on you."

Looking at Oscar, Winnie felt a warm glow in her heart but also a pang of guilt. "Mom's been really busy these past few days. When Sidney told me you left, I didn't have time to check on Leo. But I've already asked Rock to contact the best neurologist in Trento City for you. I'll take you for proper treatment in a few days."

Oscar's eyes flickered. He wasn't actually sick.

Sidney hurried over to help Oscar. "Mom, actually, Oscar seemed to get better while he was with Leo. Don't you think he looks almost normal now? It's just that his head occasionally hurts, and he has some memory loss, but he'll get better slowly."

"We can't be careless." Winnie frowned. She hadn't done a thorough check-up on Oscar, so she couldn't be at ease.

"Great-uncle and Aunt are cooking. Mom, you should go freshen up. We're getting ready to eat," Sidney said, changing the subject.

Winnie blinked suspiciously but obediently walked towards the bathroom.

Elliott poked his head out of the kitchen. "Winnie, you haven't seen Rock for a few days. Give him a call and invite him over for dinner."

Winnie nodded and took out her phone in the bathroom. Olivia came out after taking a shower and saw her finishing the call.

Leaning against the wall, Olivia raised an eyebrow and asked quietly, "Winnie, have you decided to be with Rock?"

Winnie held her phone, and after a moment, she said softly, "Yes."

Olivia clicked her tongue. "Doesn't he mind that you've slept with Lawrence so many times?"

Winnie glared at her! Knowing Olivia meant no harm but was just curious, she put down her phone, turned on the water, and stared at the clear stream. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Olivia, he said he doesn't mind that I'm not pure. He just wants me to be safe. I was really touched when I heard that. I felt he loved me so humbly. I really shouldn't have wronged him. He was greatly hurt in this incident. He wants me to make it up to him for the rest of my life and be good to him. I really don't know how to refuse."

'Rock is so deeply in love, so humble?' Olivia couldn't judge. She remembered when Winnie tried to steal Patrick's hair, Rock didn't save Winnie to avoid offending people for his career. 'Did Lawrence snatching Winnie make him realize he truly loved her and couldn't lose her? So he was willing to accept an impure Winnie?' Olivia couldn't figure it out.

Seeing Olivia frowning and silent, with a serious expression, Winnie blinked. "You don't believe he really doesn't mind the relationship between me and Lawrence?"

Olivia said, "From my limited understanding and experience with men, it's impossible for him not to mind. But maybe Rock really loves you so much that he silently endures it. It's not easy for a man to do that. Since he wants you to make it up to him, you can't get out of this marriage."

"Yes." Winnie lowered her head. "After I mentioned the divorce to him that day, I felt like a jerk. I can't hurt him like that, emotionally and rationally."

Olivia raised an eyebrow, feeling a mix of emotions. On one hand, she thought Rock was deeply in love, and such men were probably extinct in the world. On the other hand, she felt a vague unease. 'Was Rock really that forgiving? He was so good to Winnie, which seemed almost abnormally humble.' But she didn't want to share these thoughts with Winnie. For now, she decided to trust Rock. After all, he was the one who saved Winnie.

They walked out of the bathroom together. Olivia, thinking of something, glanced at Winnie hesitantly. "Winnie, I heard the Rodriguez family plans to sell the Rodriguez Group estate on Camellia Mount."

Winnie was momentarily stunned.
