Chapter 304 Going to Perugia City
At night, Rock sat in the car with his legs crossed.
The car parked at the entrance of the apartment, and at this moment, a subordinate approached.
After the driver got off, the entire car was sealed, and Rock glanced up faintly.
The subordinate handed over several photos and reported, "Mr. Harrington, after my men investigated in secret, there were no ultrasound scans found from Winnie's prenatal check-up three years ago. She had her check-ups at a designated Li Shi Hospital, so Lawrence R must have instructed them to conceal something?"
Rock raised his elbow slightly and took the photos.
The subordinate continued to describe, "Jasmine Manor has tight security and we couldn't get close. We carefully surveyed from a distance and indeed saw children coming in and out of the estate these past two days. However, we were only able to take distant photos, so I'm not sure if you can see clearly."
Rock nodded, his gaze fixed on the blurry silhouette of the child in the photos.
The outline wasn't very clear, but the shape of the side of his face and his figure size made Rock squint his pitch-black eyes.
It was no different from Oscar's figure! Even the sportswear he was wearing was eye-catching!
Rock suddenly looked up at the apartment and made a phone call to the bodyguard stationed at Winnie's house. "Is Miss Anderson and the child at home?"
The bodyguard respectfully replied from the other end, "They're both at home, Mr. Martin."
His gaze returned to the photo...Two children? He was certain that they weren't the rumored children of Lawrence R and Darcy.
Because their side profiles were almost identical.
Taking a deep breath, Rock's dark eyes became even colder as a storm of shock surged within him.
At this moment, the subordinate beside him said, "By the way, Mr. Harrington, I discovered that today there was a detective secretly investigating Miss Anderson. I followed the lead, and it seems to be someone sent by Darcy. She's checking if there are any other people living in Miss Anderson's house."
A glimmer flashed through Rock's eyes, as he pondered something under the surface.
He gave a low command, "Darcy's people, don't stop them, let her investigate!"
After a brief glance, the night was dark, his eyes as obscure as the night itself. It wasn't until he entered the apartment, tall and with long legs, that the man's gaze regained its warmth.
The doorbell of the apartment rang.
Winnie was on the phone, directing the little one with her eyes to go and open the door.
'Oscar' reluctantly got up from the sofa and opened the door, only to see Rock standing outside.
Sidney's face darkened instantly. "Why are you coming to our house so late? Don't you know it's inconvenient?"
Rock looked deeply at the child in front of him, wearing a small suit that Oscar would never wear, his expression proud.
The man smiled and discreetly glanced into the room. "Oscar, what is your mommy doing?"
"She's busy!" It meant she had no time for him. Sidney hoped this man could understand.
"Why don't you let Uncle Rock come in, Oscar?"
From inside the room, Winnie poked her head out. She hadn't answered Alan's call yet and took this opportunity to smile at Rock, gesturing for him to come in.
The man leaned down and patted the little one's shoulder, shrugging. "Sorry, your mommy asked me to come in."
Sidney held onto the door handle and secretly stomped her foot.
This man was polite and gentle to everyone, but she didn't like him. Mommy belonged to daddy, to him and Oscar. No one could take her away!
On the other side, Alan finally answered the phone, speaking with a smiling face. "Winnie, cough, I didn't mean to leave you at the club that night. Dealing with an ex-girlfriend is just too difficult..."
"So you spent two days not coming out of bed?" Winnie sarcastically mocked him.
"Has anyone ever defied their boss like you? Besides, I indirectly helped you!"
"I heard that after you had a passionate night with Lawrence R, you immediately met your felon uncle..." Alan said mischievously.
A dark line formed on Winnie's forehead. How dare he bring up that night!
She didn't want to speak to someone like him.
Winnie fiddled with her phone and asked directly, "If you want me to go to Perugia City for your jewelry exhibition, you need to find out if Lawrence R will attend the summit forum. Have you done your research?"
Alan thought she was worried. "At the banquet two days ago, Mr. Hughes gave the Imperial project to Lawrence R. You don't have to worry about him giving you a hard time."
"That's not what I'm afraid of..." Winnie rubbed her temples and looked at her Oscar from the corner of her eye.
"Just make sure you find out and let me know," she said.
A minute later, Alan replied without hanging up, "Lawrence R is on a business trip today. His chip factory is having issues! He won't be able to interfere with us in Perugia City, at most he'll send a subordinate. That's nothing to fear!"
Winnie let out a small sigh of relief.
Hanging up the phone, she noticed Rock standing behind her.
Looking at the woman's reflection on the glass, her slender and delicate figure, her eyebrows furrowed, her exquisite features were soft and yet cold under the light.
Outside the window
The city was ablaze with lights, illuminating her black hair and her luscious red lips, adding to her cold and alluring appearance.
"Are you worried about Oscar?"
"Mhm, I don't trust leaving him at home. If we bring him with us and Lawrence R finds out, it would be even more disastrous."
Winnie furrowed her brows, always afraid that Lawrence R would snatch her son away. She wished she could tie Oscar to her waist.
Rock's hand grazed behind his back, his expression hidden in the shadows, making it hard to discern.
He spoke, "I suggest you take Oscar to Perugia City. It's safer than leaving him at home."
Winnie was torn.
He explained, "I'm also busy with work these days. If Oscar stays at the apartment, I won't be able to personally take care of him. You don't trust the bodyguards either. If they and the nanny accompany you to Perugia City, you can focus on work while taking care of Oscar."
Indeed, Lawrence R was on a business trip and couldn't go to Perugia City. It would be better to have Oscar by her side during the two-day summit forum.
"Alright, Rock. You should go back and rest early. We'll catch a flight tomorrow." Winnie escorted him to the door.
Mother and son went back inside and rested.
The next day in the morning, Winnie and Olivia met at the airport.
To her surprise, Olivia had also brought Mia along.
Olivia sighed, "My dad hasn't been feeling well these past few days, and my mom has to take care of him. Besides, I'm afraid of my mom taking the child with her. She is old and frail. If she runs into Sam, I don't know how she would handle it."
Winnie remained silent.
She and Olivia shared the same fear of their children being discovered by their fathers!
Winnie picked up Mia and comforted her, "Don't worry, Perugia City is not within the DeRoss family's influence."
Olivia glanced at 'Oscar' and asked, "What about you? Lawrence R wouldn't go to Perugia City, right?"
"Well, I've made inquiries." Winnie replied.
Mia crawled out of Winnie's arms and made her way to Sidney. She plopped herself down on Oscar's lap, embracing his neck happily. "Oscar, kissy~!"
"Don't. Don't little girls know how to be shy?" Sidney blushed, coolly pushing Mia away.
Mia froze and immediately burst into tears, crawling back to her mommy helplessly.
"Mommy, mommy, why doesn't Oscar like me anymore? He even asked if I would marry him when I grow up!"
Sidney was dumbfounded. Only then did he realize that Oscar was just boasting! Who would have thought this little guy had such a flirty side?
With a dark expression on his face, he responded solemnly, "I won't marry you!"
"Why?" Mia cried out in dismay.
