Chapter 292 Winnie Encounters Lawrence with their Son

Meanwhile, Lawrence R and Darcy walked into a luxurious private room, each with their own thoughts.

After the manager's introduction, the man unknowingly or intentionally chose a seat diagonally opposite to "No. 1."

Darcy's expression became even more unpleasant. She suppressed her mounting gloomy mood and initiated a conversation with the man.

But she soon noticed that Lawrence R's deep gaze was seemingly fixed on the opposite direction, showing little interest in her words.

Darcy clenched her fist hidden under the table. Unable to bear it any longer, she complained, "Mr. L, are you so curious about Miss Anderson's company celebration? Why don't you go join their banquet while I have dinner here alone!?"

Lawrence R paused, then withdrew his gaze and focused it on Darcy.

She had expected the man to appease her, but to her surprise, Lawrence R calmly laid down his napkin on the table and gave her a puzzled look.

"Darcy, what are you implying by saying all this? Is there any point in making these remarks? Let's not make this lunch tasteless."

Darcy was stunned and alarmed. The man's lack of tenderness felt unfamiliar. Could it be that he had changed his opinion of her because of Elliott's case?

Damn it, it was all because of that wicked Winnie who sowed discord between them!

"Mr. L, I... I didn't mean it that way," she immediately disguised herself with a gentle tone.

However, Lawrence R glanced at her briefly, revealing a hint of fatigue in his expression. "Just go ahead and eat. I'll go to the restroom," he said.

His impatience with her when he encountered Winnie was something Darcy had felt before, almost as if it wasn't the first time.

She looked at the man's tall figure walking away, feeling embarrassed and frustrated; clenching her fist on the table.

"Oscar..."

Winnie pushed open the door to the "No. 1" private room. After discussing with Rock, she suddenly realized that Lawrence R was here!

She immediately worried about Oscar, hoping the little guy wouldn't run around in a mess. Worriedly, she said to Rock, "I'm afraid we won't have the privilege of enjoying this lunch. I can't let Lawrence R discover our child. To be safe, I want to take him away first. Can you entertain the Triton executives for me?"

Rock felt a hint of disappointment but agreed nonetheless, "Alright."

However, Winnie's footsteps suddenly paused.

Looking at the empty table, she turned around and asked, "Where's Oscar?"

Rock's gaze followed hers and found the child seat empty!

He was equally startled and raised his hand, saying, "I swear, when I went out to find you, I had Manager Nelson bring him in."

"He wouldn't be left alone and bored, going out to find us, right?"

"Or did he go to the restroom?" Winnie was momentarily stunned, realizing that Lawrence R was in the private room across from them.

Her heart started pounding, "Damn it, I'll go find him."

"Winnie, don't panic, stay calm!" Rock frowned.

She nodded but rushed out anyway.

As she crossed the lobby where she had just faced off with Lawrence R, she didn't see Oscar anywhere.

The lobby had open seating, and the little guy wasn't in any particular area.

Winnie understood her son's habits well. Although he was lively, he wouldn't run around or play recklessly outside.

The most likely possibility was that he couldn't hold it and went to the restroom by himself.

With this thought in mind, she immediately turned and headed towards the public restroom on this floor.

-

Lawrence R zipped up his formal trousers and as he turned, he came face to face with a small figure running out of the cubicle. They stared at each other with wide eyes.

At first, he thought the child had carelessly wandered in from someone else's party room?

But upon closer look, what the hell? Wasn't this his own child!?

Lawrence R pursed his thin lips, his distinct features shifting from surprise to anger.

"---Sidney!"

Oscar, who had been rushing out to return to the private room, was startled.

...Bastard dad??

He couldn't believe Lawrence R had mistaken him for Sidney.

Oscar's eyes darted around, his guilt palpable.

Lawrence R firmly held onto the short legs in front of him, crouched down, and angrily interrogated his son, "Didn't dad have the driver take you to kindergarten? Why didn't you go to school properly and secretly followed me here? Wearing a little suit and neat hair, what nonsense are you up to?!"

"..." Oscar hesitated for a moment, finally understanding as he got scolded by his bastard dad.

Bastard dad mistook him and Sidney again!

Phew...

For some reason, his little heart eased slightly. Otherwise, how would he explain the origin of 'himself'?

He lowered his head and quickly made an obedient expression, "Dad, I didn't mean to..."

"Not meaning to is still intentional, playing truant and running around randomly, you really deserve a beating. Tell me, why did you come here?" Lawrence R was sharp and stared at his son.

Seeing his son dressed like a little troublemaker, even when Sidney wore a suit, he was never this extravagant...

Thinking of Winnie being here, and Sidney secretly coming over, Lawrence R's expression subtly changed.

He stood up straight and sternly asked, "Are you here to find someone? Or do you know something? Tell dad!"

Oscar quickly turned his head. His bastard dad asked if Sidney knew something. Why not use Sidney's identity to test his bastard dad's attitude towards mommy?

He had wanted to do this for a long time.

Oscar raised his head, imitating Sidney's cold demeanor, and questioned, "Should I know something, dad?"

"Or is there something you're hiding from me, like my biological mommy being here?"

"..."

Lawrence R's eyes narrowed.

This troublesome little guy actually managed to find his way here? Could it be that he recognized Winnie?

Thinking about this possibility, a myriad of emotions surged through his heart, and his icy cold heart seemed to momentarily float high up in the air before crashing down.

Why does his son, whom he has raised so painstakingly, have the right to easily recognize the mother who has never raised him for a day? A strong sense of dissatisfaction and jealousy welled up inside.

Lawrence R narrowed his cold eyes, his expression indifferent, and immediately took hold of his son.

"She's not here. She's dead. Don't mention this again. Come with Daddy."

"But..." Oscar wanted to say something. At the entrance, upon hearing the child's voice, Winnie froze.

She disregarded the sign indicating the men's restroom and ran in without hesitation.

As soon as she entered, she saw Lawrence R pulling her son Oscar! In that moment, Winnie's breath stopped, and her face turned pale to the extreme. The thing she was worried about had indeed happened! Lawrence R had discovered the child she had been hiding at all costs!

"Oscar..." Winnie anxiously stomped her feet, helplessly murmuring.

The woman's voice echoed untimely in the men's restroom, causing Lawrence R to sharply raise his head. Winnie barged in, standing in front of them, father and son.

Lawrence R squinted, somewhat caught off guard. He stared at the woman's panicked face, scrutinizing.

Her gaze was fixed firmly on Sidney in his hand, lost and disoriented. Lawrence R's features gradually turned cold and enigmatic. In that instant, his emotions were impenetrable. The love and hate entwined, the three whole years of time, none of it had faded away! The pain, the resentment, and countless times he had wished to see her remorseful expression all resurfaced.

"Mommy..." The 'Sidney' beside him even took the initiative to call out to this woman. It seems they had indeed met privately just now.

Winnie had already managed to influence his son so quickly.

Lawrence R was filled with rage, tightly gripping 'Sidney's' hand, and said with a chilling tone, "You are my son, you are not allowed to call her!"
