Chapter 906 Numerous Doubts

Olivia's determined figure marched towards Ryder's room, Joshua's father.

"Mr. Thomas, good evening," Olivia said, knocking on the door.

Ryder turned around, with Joshua's mother Iris and two bodyguards in the room.

Ryder looked confused at first.

But when he saw Finn behind Olivia, his face turned red with anger. "How did you, Smith Family people, find us? You just won't leave us alone! Bodyguards, get them out of here!"

As Ryder backed away, Olivia kicked the door open and stormed into the room. She looked at Ryder's furious expression and smirked, "Mr. Thomas, the Smith Family only came to the hospital once this morning. We haven't been pestering you. Your attitude is a bit over the top."

"You keep calling bodyguards to throw my mom out, refusing to talk. That's pretty arrogant."

"The police suggested I come to you to understand the case. We should cooperate with their investigation, right?"

"My son is dead! Your father hit him on the head multiple times and killed him!"

"I have nothing to say to the Smith Family. I will sue your father for murder and demand the death penalty. He must pay for my son's life, understand?"

"Leave now. I won't accept any compensation. We don't need your money."

Olivia didn't take the bait to talk about compensation, which would imply guilt.

Instead, she stepped forward, her eyes cold and sharp. "I've seen the surveillance footage from the crime scene. The office only has one angle. Finn was there too, tied up by Joshua's bodyguards and locked in a side room."

"So, I don't buy the police's statements!"

"The only witnesses at the crime scene are from your side, giving so-called testimonies."

"Finn said my dad initially spoke calmly with Joshua. Why did the conflict escalate? What were they arguing about? My cousin said he couldn't hear clearly!"

"Mr. Thomas, did you bribe the police?"

"What nonsense are you talking about! Your father attacked first, brutally hitting my son's head six times with an ashtray. Six times! His motive was clear, and the evidence is solid. So many people saw it, and you still want to cover up his crime? Let me tell you, you can't slander us. Do you know who backs me? Someone you can't mess with. Your dad is finished."

"Who backs you? Tell me," Olivia squinted her eyes.

Ryder hesitated, and Iris immediately pulled him, giving him a look.

Ryder cursed, "Get out! We'll see you in court!"

"I have a few questions. First, I don't believe my father attacked first. I watched the surveillance footage carefully. Joshua whispered something in my father's ear before he angrily picked up the ashtray."

"It's clear Joshua was trying to provoke my father."

"Second, Finn said he and my father entered Joshua's office together. Joshua's bodyguards grabbed him and locked him in a side room, but left my father free in the room."

"That's very suspicious."

"Joshua controlled Finn and then argued with my elderly father, leading to a fight."

"I have reason to suspect Joshua deliberately provoked my father to attack."

"You're talking nonsense! Why would my son provoke your father and end up dead?!" Ryder shot back, but Olivia caught the flicker of doubt in his eyes.

This family definitely knew something.

Her cold gaze swept over the silent Iris, and she continued logically, "You claim the Thomas Family is powerful, backed by strong support. I've seen your real estate performance; it's impressive. Yet, a few months ago, you sought a loan from Finn's shady company?"

"That's the third suspicious point!"

"I even suspect you targeted Finn, or your ultimate goal was my dad."

"Otherwise, Joshua could have just defaulted on the $200 million loan. Why target Finn, report him, and then have him seek my dad's help, only to report my dad too?"

"Were you forcing my dad to show up at Joshua's company to argue?"

"What did Joshua whisper in my dad's ear during the argument?"

"Did Joshua die immediately at the crime scene, or was there another cause of death?"

"Why won't you let us request an autopsy?"

"And it's strange the police didn't demand an autopsy either. Doesn't this seem like the Thomas Family set a trap, forcing my father into your game, 'killing' your son?"

Iris was visibly shaken, retreating as Olivia's words hit home. Her face turned pale.

Ryder's eyes also showed shock. Clearly, they were both caught off guard, not expecting Olivia to connect the events of the past few months into a chain of evidence.

There were flaws, of course.

The Thomas Family was following orders.

And they had lost Joshua. Ryder was angry but couldn't speak out, trapped in the situation. His sister Theodosia had supported the Thomas Family's development for decades but also threatened them.

Ryder, flustered, pushed Olivia away angrily, "You! I won't talk to you! I don't know my son's business. He could borrow from anyone he wanted. Now he's dead, ask him in hell!"

"I'll report your threats to the police. I warn you not to mess with the Thomas Family. You can't afford it."

"I refuse to autopsy my son's body because I don't want him to suffer more after death. The police understand our moral stance. What can you do about it?"

"The crime scene evidence has been concluded by the police. You can't change anything. I'm telling you."

"You sacrificed Joshua to imprison my father. I don't believe that you have no resentment." Olivia stared at Iris, who was increasingly distressed, and approached her. Iris's expression was clearly less firm than Ryder's. Olivia's suspicion burst out, "Mrs. Thomas, you didn't expect to lose Joshua's life in this matter, did you?"

"As far as I know, my father has run his company for decades without deep hatred for the Thomas Family."

"Joshua wouldn't suddenly hate my dad either."

"He targeted Finn and my dad so aggressively that it seems like he was trying to achieve something."

"Maybe this goal wasn't his own. He was just following orders?"

"So, who is the Thomas Family working for, targeting my dad? Even sacrificing Joshua's life."

Iris broke down, thinking of Joshua lying in the morgue, overwhelmed with grief. Sam had promised, but Sam was heartless. Joshua could have been saved during the rescue.

It was Sam... it was Sam!
